A confident woman is willing to learn from someone who is further ahead than she is.

I completely agree that if you are confident and happy, you don`t need to criticise other people or gossip. Moreover, when a person feels confident and happy, when a person leads a happy life, she or he doesn`t leave any space in her or his life for negative emotions about other people and tries to get rid of everything that wastes her or his energy (things like gossips, useless disputes and situations when someone is trying to prove that his or her point of view is the only right one).

I used to go places without makeup on, on occasion. I don’t wear a lot of makeup but I do look much better with makeup on. I decided a few months ago to get ready and do my makeup right after I get up so if I have to run somewhere I am ready. I will not change my new routine, it makes me feel more confident!

One sign of confidence is being okay when other people are recognized.

#9!! I have totally worked on this one! It was a forced lesson through my MIL but I am finally at a point in our relationship that her criticism doesn't bother me as much because I am confident in who I am. It is nice to see this in definition. Thank-you!

I need to work on #9 "Because a person with self-respect wants to treat others kindly because of who they are, not because of who someone else is." Yes I need to fix the trigger in me. Thanks so much for sharing this gem, Tara.

Such a great video! Not caring what others think about you can be a challenge sometimes. I think our brains know that we don't need all that validation from the outside because we are happy with what we are doing. But our hearts sometimes get in the way. Simply because it's a good feeling to get some validation from others. I like to think of it as nice to have but not a necessity 😉

Such a good point on validation. It's a legitimate human need. I think when we can keep it in check and ensure we're meeting the need in healthy ways (or maybe from the right people) is when we can really cultivate inner confidence.

Hi Tara, Great video. Serendipity that I jumped on KZbin 3 minutes after you posted it:) Number 3 struck home about be able to say "I don't know.". Was at a talk last week and someone asked the speaker something she didn't know. She admitted she didn't know but it had a tinge of anger and she kind of shut the person down. Felt like she missed an opportunity to say "Wow, that's super interesting. let me do some research and get back to you." I think she went into a shame spiral and got angry. I also like number 8? I think it was 8. Gossipping. Brene Brown says gossiping is a way to offload pain and discomfort. Have always remembered that.

@@TaraWagner example 7 is a very good sign on confident but 8 turns into ego. Idk Maybe I think differently because I'm girly.
