Amen, I have to agree with all of these. I was blessed to be raised by a confident Christian mother who instilled these values when I was young. I have tried to instill those same values with my daughter. It is so important that self worth is instilled at a young age and young girls know that they are more than just what others think of them. What a gem of a video! I love it! I'll admit, I do overshare sometimes, but it's not due to insecurity. I talk about what I've been through to uplift people and to let them know that they are not alone in their struggles!

Social media is a huge one. It can be tough to find that balance between using it to share what's important to you and using it to seek validation deep down. A few years ago, I would legit get sad because I didn't have hundreds of likes on my facebook or instagram photos while seeing other people get so many likes. Now when I look back, I realize how ridiculous it is, but how signifiant it seemed to me and still seems to some people today. I overcame that a while ago, but it wasn't that long ago that I've embraced that fact that validation from others does not define me whatsoever. It's nice to be loved and respected but at the end of the day, that needs to be within us already.

I was told that I don't seem very confident yet within myself I know I have come a long way in my confidence level. Listening to them made me do some introspection and I realize that they may be projecting that onto me while using my outward "innocent looking" persona to judge my confidence. After watching your video, I agree with most points made and recognise my growth while knowing there's room to improve.

Thanks for this video Tracy ! I can relate with all 10 arguments you pointed out that define a confident person...as I definitely feel CONFIDENT in most areas of my life. This does not mean I ever look down on anybody nor do I feel less valuable either. I totally accept my personality, my values, and it usually shows through the way I dress (rather smartly), the way I behave (totally respectfully), enhanced by the smile I put on my face every single day (even when feeling not so well for whatever reason) !! I can say this serves me most of the time (I have great relationships and compliments abound) and once in a while I stumble across one or two insecure persons who give me a hard time with their jealousy !! It still hurts because they do not see the optimism behind the confidence I display and I guess this makes them feel some sort of competition although it has nothing to do with it !!. I eventually feel sorry for them and cut the ties because a confident person can certainly do without negative people around !! I'll just add that to be confident, you truly have to love yourself unconditionnally...and I guess this is something lots of people struggle feeling for multiple reasons...(the love of one's parents is key among other things !) if most people felt confident out there, the world would be so more peaceful !! Unfortunately, social media has really taken off in the last 11 years and there has been no education on how seriously to take it. When I was younger, I could be a little bit impulsive, relentless and sometimes I would show very little restraint.

Another great one, Tracy. The points you mention have certain individuals popping up in my mind. And it's sad that more women can't be kind and confident in themselves. Rather they complete and have to push others down and treat them poorly. Over the years this really bothered me (referring to the workplace) ..but find this is not a unique situation and happens...everywhere. And you're right..I don't take it personal anymore and put the onus on myself how I choose to respond and show up in my world: With beauty & grace..and to let these sad women just roll off my back. One of my favorite quotes is : "Become increasing aware of what is really worth your thought time and energy!" Not these menial, things. God bless, Tracy!

Thank you Laura! Great perspective. It is so tru about competitiveness. Once it creeps it's ugly head, you will NEVER be able to have a fulfilling and thriving relationship with a person. Food for thought. Believe it or not, it is not your parents that need to change for you, it's you that needs to change for you. To fully live an optimal life, you have to accept this truth. Many spend their entire life not accepting this truth and end up the victim to others! Enjoy your weekend, as well.
