I just left a job I once loved. I've known that I've needed to quit for a while now... I've been watching podcasts and now this video. Every single one of those was my previous job. My last shift was Friday night and I've left so much happier since leaving already. I worked their almost 3 years.

the fact that i am googling toxic work- i am sure of a person on my team- controlling, the others are the flying monkies, cordial but, not trustful. I will be professional, show up do my job, stay neutral- all i can do. But, i am google this because one team member is stepping over boundaries. ARGH. I am new...but, i am not new to the job.

I found this video after a very restless night. I have been at a new job only 8 months and there are numerous issues.. Like the frog in the pot of water, it's been getting hotter over time and I have been ignoring the signs.

Toxic workplace is filled with jobsworths and middle managers who do little other than who pass work along to a small overworked and under appreciated cohort.

What a fantastic video! I think you covered it all really well. I would like to ask, how on earth can we try and screen these employers during the interview process? It would be nice to find questions to come prepared with to a job interview so that it can help reveal these types of red flags before stepping into the company. What questions can we ask in the job interviews?

Favoritism is one that should be on the list. I work in a hospital and the favoritism is on a level that I have never experienced before! 🤬

The one about the unmotivated workers gives me the first result, but also a third one: anger and resentment at the lazy and unmotivated employees. Also, is a turnover of roughly 70 percent and up really high? Especially for restaurants? And I think I'm definitely experiencing the burnout.

I work in a cubicle space with a clique. I’ve tried to ask my boss if I can move but she won’t allow it she told me to be more social.

Great video on the topic. Thank you. This is the first place that I have heard of the term “under challenged” burnout. Most if not all videos focus on overwork related burnout. Having had experience of this personally, underchallenge (sitting around in an office for 8 hours because the 9-5 model pays you for “time at the desk” as rather than “actual work completed”) is as debilitating to efficient workers/high performers as overwork.

Everything you described here happened to me at my recently concluded engineering internship. Gladly I took all the evidence and kept them with me lol. Funny enough they were so toxic including the Managers that they always thought to be right. No reflection of any kind. Either ways, thanks for the video.

Some of the things that happened back in the day before cameras were set up at the workplace may have been toxic. I can think of one situation….imagine a bunch of guys holding you down so they can cut your rat tail of a haircut off if you were a guy amongst a bunch of meat cutters in a supermarket or if they tied up a Hispanic man with plastic wrap

Labeling a company as one that needs to "shape up" or get dumped is a sign of poor advice. In most cases, no doctor sends a patient through red alert unless there are several troubling symptoms, so to tell someone they need to change a company they work for or get out is setting that person up for failure. I'm not saying that your topics (symptoms) are illegitimate, but take more care about what you prescribe. These issues should at the very least be addressed with one applicable solution, not just with the advise of telling a company to shape up or get out.

Agreed. Telling someone to leave without no new job to go to is cruel...this person who may not fit imtp a toxic amd sometimes politically incorrect environment has bills to pay like everyone else. Taking away their only income sourcr is unjust...
