I am going to focus on doing my job, stay neutral with my team, be cordial, not share personal stuff, not engage too much. I already know the dynamics- I have to fit in as a new person.

good luck. I tried to stay neutral and the bullying toxicity increased.

5. Craft your exit... The best one for me. After doing 1-4 the last one is the final decision that made me happy. The world is too big for me to allow that one office to ruin me daily. I realized that theres so many opportunities awaits me. Its true that the field is big if we tried to look out.

On point #4, what if your central HR is part of the game (biased towards position power) and does NOT want to believe or see, and probably does not want to bring positive change? The workplace and education system teaches us to make a living, but they don't teach us how to make a living and how to be contented to avoid an unhealthy workplace environment.

I think HR is a problem sometimes when they don’t step in to control the toxic workplace

I did not even last 5 weeks at a toxic work place. From day one the jealous toxic coworkers wanted me out. They withheld information from me by speaking in Spanish in the pass down meetings knowing I am not fluent in Spanish, complained about me to the boss, sabotaged me by hiding samples I set knowing for 3rd party testing. I knew I was in unfriendly toxic environment and the co workers were actively sabotaging to make look incompetent so that I get fired. I resigned via email the next morning effectively immediately.

Thank you for this. I had to work with very negative and judgemental people who complain about every little issue they have but they don't see a positive or do something to fix the problem. I learned to see the positives in every situation and it got too much when work colleagues relied on me instead of doing jobs themselves. There has been an enormous rise in gossip and turnover where I was. It affected me majorly because I loved my job, it was the people that made it incredibly difficult. I didn't want to stoop to their level and tried to set a good example. But I realised that I was taken far too granted and decided to fix my mental health. Whilst offers were made for me to stay, I knew the problems wouldn't go away.

Yes I feel like undervalue sometime at work by my coworkers at work. I think it’s because I am an immigrant and English is my second language. I get overwhelmed to express myself but then they said I am not approachable even though they are giving me the signal to stay away from them.
@bonnie1097 Жыл бұрын
I'm not an immigrant, but have experienced this at several jobs with groups of women. It's bullying and is far too common. I just quit another job because of it. I just want to work without being treated like trash.

Im sorry that you 2 are going through this, but im glad to know im not alone. Everyday is so confusing to me. I do get the signals that im not wanted so I stay away, focus on my job and say nothing, but then they make fun of me for being standoffish. Just cant win no matter what I do.

Step 2 & 4 worked for me. As for step 4, I just be truthful about my observations with my boss where the root of the problem is. Toxic work place is like a cancer in society. It should be removed so our kids can benefit. We should try steps 2&4 to treat it first until we can’t, then use step 5.

I disagree with anonimity when you lodge a complaint against someone. Many malignant narcissists are cozy with HR and hide behind them when they are trying to undermine you out of jealousy. HR is often in personal relationships with them.
