I loved the original Max Payne as a kid and played like a hundret times. Played the 2nd one only once, because real life was already starting to cut down on my gaming time. So the third one completely flew under my radar and I only bought it recently from ebay, and it's been sitting on my "to play" list ever since. But if everyone is gushing about it so much, maybe I should push it ahead of the others.

I bought it over Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain. More of a mad max fan plus game came out a little bit after the Fury Road came out. Loved the game from beginning to end. Once game is done, not much to do and replaybility is low since most of the side quests are finished and maximizing your vehicle

We've reached a point where people make it sound like good single player games are a rarity and the norm are the online multiplayers. For a 40+ year old gamer like me, who grew up without ANY online gaming, that's just weird. And even now, I have like 2 or 3 games at most that I play online with friends, and the rest is all single player games I could just as well play offline. Just this year I finished Elden Ring, FF VII Rebirth and Horizon Forbidden West.

So far the single ganes I've played this year which has been pretty awesome: Jedi Fallen Order, Control, Senua 2, Immortal of Aveum, Evil West, FIST Forged in Shadow Torch, Dead Space remake, Scorn (that game is weird af and doesn't have any dialogue), Atomic Heart was fun although easy to beat, and a nice hidden gem called Bramble The Mountain King.

I recall playing Mad Max long after it's release and hearing "game journalists" sh*t all over it (for reasons unbeknownst to me). I was actually blown away at the scope of the game, the graphics/visuals, the gameplay, combat and story. I'm also ashamed to admit that I bought into the initial reviews instead of experiencing it for myself. Underrated? You have no idea... It's a perfect game that fulfills the base/character/car progression systems that make you feel like you're constantly moving forward with what you do or what you find while out driving around (I say driving around...but you kinda have to have a plan and a goal....fuel is a resource that isn't, well, everywhere all the time). Go in blind - don't look anything up - don't rob yourself of that "whoa!" feeling when you stumble across something new....trust me. 100% worth it.

Another one that is aging but still holds it own imo is XCOM: Enemy Within. Due to the randomization and difficulty and variations of boards you can still find unique situations and challenges with every play through. XCOM 2 is great and has cool features but EW to me had the better story. There is something about the early days of the invasion that adds to the mystique and “unknown” elements atmosphere wise. Even when you know what’s coming in certain parts you can still get your ass kicked if you’re not mindful and that’s all the more exciting. Even with a crack shot team of my best soldiers I’ve still lost missions or squad mates to permadeath. But it’s a super satisfying journey hit the point when you just have a squad that synergizes well. That feeling of having a mech unit bust through a wall to get at a pesky ET that’d been griefing you. The sniper that splatters a heavy hitter in one shot to give the others some breathing room. All juicy moments lol

Everybody knows about the last of us God of War Uncharted it was good to hear games that some people might not have ever heard of Max Payne 3 was awesome I love that game and so I loved the Metro series also I used to love the Dishonored series as well another game that doesn't get much love

When you play mad max, turn on vsync to limit your fps. It's nice to be able to get 500+fps in a game but it completely knackers the shaders and causes glitches 😄

Nice video Play Hunters, but please do mention next time for which system a game is released. Because now we have to stop the video and look it up each time a game looks interesting. You don't really need to mention it vocaly, just a small test below the games title would do it. Other then that, thank you for this video. Am a real SP fan (PC), and I can't see enough of videos like this. Leon
