Not bad, but could ruin everything the forza devs went for in Mexico. They went for a country with a lot of nature and culture to discover through the wild with statues, temples, and relics from the past. Adding a modern airport literally in the jungle would look out of place.

@@Mat_D_ I get what your saying but I still believe updating the strip like we used to get with the festival's in older horizon games, I'm not saying het rid of the culture I live driving and seeing it, but maybe some fresh tarmac on the strip and a few people down the side of the strip to give it a lively feeling not just grass and old planes. Just my thoughts I'm sure we've all got ideas on how they could change or improve this game.

related to the pop up issue, I hate going for a cruise and triggering a PR stunt on every other road. And when you swerve to avoid a drift zone, you still have the ugly blue flags ruining the vibe of the drive- we need to have the ability to turn off PR stunts

one of my biggest flex’s in this game is not upgrading the festivals, they ruin the map’s atmosphere and just make a waste of the space, and ruin the roads with blue flags and stunt ramps.

I've been playing FH4 the last couple of days and have noticed that many details are just downgraded in FH5. The main example I can think of is the backfire sound/visual effects. Well, I kinda like the new VFX on FH5 because of how "quick" it is and it feels more natural, but I have no idea why they got rid of all the variety in the backfire sounds, there used to be like 5 or more different sounds for the exhaust pops which depended on the type of car and even the exhaust the car had installed

What annoys me the most? STREET RACING The "Street Racing"" in Forza is the dumbest most boring thing I've ever seen in a racing game. It always goes like this: "Hey Jake" "Hi Paul" "Say, my friend, you want to participate in some very secret races going down? :D" "Why yes Paul :) I DO" And then the actual race, literally the most positive racing with with the most positive soundtrack ever. why the actual hell am i listening to opera in this race with cars going at completely legal speed? Look, if you aren't gonna do it right, JUST DON'T DO IT! :0 crazy i know.

To me, horizon 5's map also feels very desolate because of the overall lack of manmade structures compared to the previous titles. I think H5 feels more like a reskin of H4 with a different setting. The lack of game changing features is what is making the series feel repetitive now.

My main problem is forza is trying to recreate unicorn cars and doing it wrong. After a car is unlocked, it should be put on the autoshow. If you dont unlock the car in the playlist, and you buy it in the auction house, after that it should be available in the autoshow. Old Unicorn cars from like FM4 and other games were different because they were special versions of cars of cars already in the game. There's no reason why the Toyota Celica qnd the AE86 are only available on the auction house or in the forzathon shop or wheelspins

@@-LK34- thats exactly his point, if you were around when Unicorn cars existed, they were only unique versions of cars ALREADY in the game. which makes them rare.. just because a bog standard Celica is a returning to FH5 car and in the festival playlist, doesn’t or shouldn’t make it rare.. or because i just missed the ‘20 Nismo GTR because i worked all week doesn’t mean i should have to wait another month or 2 just to see it on the auction house.. these are not rare cars, and definitely not Unicorns.

I think the truth is Forza Horizon was competing with Test Drive unlimited and to steer the customer base towards them they actually put alot of features and details and atmosphere into the earlier iterations of horizon. Even then they didnt have what TDU2 had. But now that TDU is no more they don't see the need to actually build upon their previously demanding consumer base because they are now "The only gig in town"...

the thing is, Forza NEVER listen to what we ask, they add maybe one or two tiny features the players ask for every game to disguise the fact they’ve done nothing else, and then add mostly recycled new cars, like the AMG GT.

Forza does listen, its just they *cannot* add a lot of what People ask for, Because a lot of what People ask for is either: 1. Just not Possible under a PEGI 3 Age Rating such as "Diving" Pedestrians, actual Antagonists. more Realistic/Aggressive "Street" Dialogue , etc, all of which would Hike the Age Rating to either a PEGI 12 or even a PEGI 16. while MS has now all but *Mandated* a 3 under its New Corporate Policy for Forza, so they cannot add those elements. 2. is either not Possible, or would cause severe Performance issues, on Base Xbox One/S , such as a Big Modern City , as seen with Surfers Paradise, which is *Still* , even with *all* the performance Patches added on, Dropping to 8 or 9 Frames per Second ("Failure to Perform") on those Systems, the Systems *really* Struggle with that Setting. 3. cannot be supported by the Current, *downright Elderly* , 2011 Vintage, "Forzatech M" Graphics Engine, such as 1080 Degree Steering Lock. or 4. would Result in Licencing Issues so severe that it would cause *Multiple* Car brands to Remove their Licences! such as Window Stickers, Neon's, Air Bag Suspension, Interior Removal, Exhaust Tips, Nitrous, more Street Racing, etc, Car Companies just don't want to be Associated with Street Racing and Street Customisation in Games anymore (to the Point that, although I am in *no way* Suggesting this has happened, as I do not know, I would not be in the Least bit Surprised if Street Scene might *possibly* be why a "Certain Italian Company" has removed its licence!) as it is Damaging to their PR images to be seen associating with such things in Games. Playground are listening, but their hands are *very* Tied by the Limitations of an Ageing Graphics engine and Extremely Underpowered Base hardware, and, even *if* FH6 goes over to F-tech and "Series Consoles and High end PC only" on Supported hardware, there hands will *Still* be tied by an *increasingly* Strict Requirements Set for the PEGI 3 Age Rating, City Councils who are getting more and more reluctant to have their Cities Landmarks Replicated in Games, and Car Companies who are becoming Extremely Concerned about Gaming actually being Bad for their PR images and becoming ever more Restrictive on Customisation and Street Racing Elements in their Licence Deals. I hope that Explains the Situation Playground is up against, and why they often, actually, *cannot* give us what we Want. Also, the Returning of Recycled Cars like the GTS is because Microsoft has forced Live Services into a Game with *nowhere Near* Enough content to Support such a System, so it has to be "padded out" with a lot of Recycled Content.. Blame MS on that One. Peace.

I had good expectations about this game but I think I exceeded that, FH5 has a boring map even more than FH3 map but FH3 map had better aesthetics and atmosphere, and yes the exclusive car system is annoying, I never liked the festival playlist system since it was implemented in FH4, I hate PR stunts and it is more of a task than fun to have to complete the festival playlist to get the exclusive cars, I would like to have another option to get those cars apart from the auction house, festival playlist… For me FH2 will continue to be the best forza horizon, FH3 was also very good, in fact it was the last great Horizon

Lol At first the Playlist was way to grindy and annoying BUT now It only takes you 30 min per week to get enough points for the Exclusiv vehicle now, cause 20 points can be easily speed runned by playing the trial and two seasonal championships so that argument doesn’t count

Another problem is drift zones, when you are cruising, you still have the flags everywhere and it just honestly ruins it, even if you don’t activate the drift zone the flags are still there which kinda sucks tbh

One thing you mentioned in a previous video is the transition from FH2 to FH3 is the template for the game felt new and modernized. Fh1 and 2 even felt modernized. Fh3 seems the most modern to present day. It seems like they've gone backwards like in Horizon 4 everything feels old too like in Horizon 5. This needs to be fixed but you know it won't. The developers are so lazy and unmotivated now it's not gonna happen.

To me Fh5 just does not feel like fh3, fh3 felt so much more vibrant and adventurous in a way. fh5 feels dead and I'm not just talking about the cities. I thought fh5 might be a mix of fh2 and fh3 in terms of atmosphere but I don't think it is anymore. Its presentation is so much less exaggerated to achieve a realistic look and it makes the game so much duller. This is one of the reasons I think fh5 is the worst horizon on top of the fact that the map is incredibly empty and boringly designed if you forget about the multiple biomes, and even fh4 felt much more alive. Fh5 is really making me lose hope for this franchise, it lost so much of its charm. I was really hyped for this game and it did not deliver, I'm not making the same mistake for fh6. Like it's really disappointing that when looking at your comparisons to fh3, fh5 looks so dull. Horizon should be radiating with energy and life (yes I do think fh4 actually does a better job at this than fh5, especially with its seasons, which is the reason I feel fh4 feels more "horizon" than fh5 even though fh5 tries harder at it at a surface level). It should be an exciting summer event, (yes seasons should have ended after fh4) but fh5 feels lifeless and stripped of the horizon identity.

@@bo55abu Yeah that might be true for the core gameplay, but it's such a far cry from the series that it's disappointing enough for me to say I really don't like it. I have never played Forza Horizon 5 and got as invested as I did playing the other horizons, the map and atmosphere are just so off. Plus it just feels so uninspired (which you can say about the map design) and barely innovates which just makes it even worse.

I think a problem with the map is that the locations aren't that interesting to drive around, and their aesthetic gets boring after a while. The festivals in the game are not as big and impressive as the older games.

Agree with the Pop ups and the lack of people in the city. One other thing that personally annoys me, you just want to go for a hoon off-road? you flying across the map though the forest or across the fields then out of the blue a Trail Blazer pops up at the last second and it activates it or your driving along just cruising listening to you music having fun and a Horizon Arcade is across the road your on, so you have to pause the game to see how long it has to start. if its long enough you can carry on and drive though it, 8 seconds left, you have to wait or turn around.

With the player Avatars too, all the clothing options and personalisation I wish they would give us something to do. Even just a social/walkaround share Forza Vista car meet type thing, have meetup cars and coffee and hang out and pop hoods on cars.

As someone else already gave an example of; having the locations in the game uptade and upgrade throughout the lifespan of the game and throughout our progression would be awesome. Perhaps even an open area in the map where we build the biggest festival ever; one the size of a city with actual buildings and skyscrapers etc. after all, in theory, the mexico festival has been around for many ‘years’ now (with the seasons changing in game every week) so having a huge festival upgrade to something the size of a city could be absolutely awesome. Some other examples are: - Upgrading the abandoned airport (someone already suggested this) - upgrading an old temple (Could be a fake one to avoid rights problems) - The roads in general - other suff

I personally like the Hidden Car side of the game where some cars have resell value. It adds another layer to the game of buying and selling cars on the auction house for sometimes huge profits. And if you miss out on a car you actually have to hunt for the car at a good price.

my only thought for why the interior are not 3d is because, due to the increased map size, if they put actual interiors it would make it unplayable on xbox one. fh3 similarities are understandable as well the Australia was very diverse and had everything in it, so when they tried to make a diverse map it was inevitable it looked like Australia. i do like abandoned places in the game, but the airstrip is the wrong place to do it, a new airstrip would be better. overall your points agree with. very good video

You bring up some good points. As a guy who drives manual and uses the sound of the engine to shift, I find that the audio levels are really bad in FH5. Especially in the Hot Wheels expansion. The cars around you are louder than the car you are sitting in and some things in the environment are way too loud.

The reason the hidden cars are so expensive is because the were only available for a limited time in the festival playlist. This means theres a low supply and high demand

in regards to the pop ups, I believe (did it by accident) in the map, if you change your filters for events, locations etc, it actually effects your Minimap and the world as well. so if you hide everything, it should eliminate the pop ups, not 100% sure about pr stunts tho like the flashing from speed cameras edit: you can hide players from the map as well, unfortunately it does not hide them from your world tho

I wouldn't go so far as to say that FH5's graphics are that much better than 3. Sure, if you look closely, 5 is more detailed. But if you turn up the settings of 3 completely on the pc, it still looks pretty damn good....

I would say that fh5's textures are better but as a whole visually? Fh3 and fh2 look far better, they had such a more alive feel. Fh5 visually is just graphics with no other substance, just good graphics that aren't all that exciting.

Something I personally love about Horizon 5 though are all the cars they've been adding, I love they added the 765LT, SF90, F8, Aventador SVJ all within a few months. It finally feels like when a new car comes out it's going to be on the game and I never felt that way playing horizon 4 and especially 3

I hate when I start a championship and then can't find all the tracks to complete it. And it doesn't even keep track of the championship to tell you where you're at or how to complete it. It's really irritating when you have two wins and one race to go, but can't find it on the map. Ugh.

Another small issue that annoy me in FH5 is the drivatars and the lack of npc traffic. I think there should be a setting were you can remove drivatars when offline because they're so annoying when you want to cruise alone and a random car pops out of nowhere or they could make them more clever. Also, they should add more car models for npcs because I see too many beetles when driving and they should add more traffic because when cruising on the highway it feels so empty

8:48 they could add pedestrians like the crew 2, you know the ones who roll or move out of the way when u try to hit them. They already have this exact coding for animals. All they have to do is insert a roll/ leap/ moving out of the way animation and it would fix the atmosphere issue About the modern part, if they made everything modern it would be like Australia again, and you JUST COMPLAINED ABOUT THAT. But yes I totally think and love the idea of a modernistic map. But it would be hypocritical and look like the upside down world again

As has been Confirmed by Mike Brown, on Live Stream, during the FH4 Era (IIRC it was the Stream when they showed off Super Seven) Microsoft has now *all but mandated* a PEGI 3 Rating as Per its Corporate Policy for Forza going forward. "Pedestrian Peril" of the Kind seen in The Crew 2 is Grounds for a PEGI 12 Rating, , as it is *Required* under a 3 Rating that the Players Car cannot, in *any way shape or form* Access an Area where Pedestrian NPC's are present, meaning they *cannot* do that, as it would put the Age Rating up above a 3, and it would not Comply with Microsoft Corporate Policy for the Forza Franchise. Mike Brown openly said as much explaining why Crowds are always behind Crash Barriers or Invisible Walls in an FH4 Live Stream. Sorry to bear bad News. Peace.

Indeed, it is Ridiculous that it Defaults to "Any" and not "Current Brand" and "Current Car" , they need to patch that to make "Current" as the Default, its Called QOL. Indeed, the PC port is a Disaster :( I do not know who Playground sourced it out to, but they did a *Terrible* Job :( Hopefully FH6 will bring in FOV adjustment on Console , it is *very* Rare on Console Games, but it is not unknown either. I am Very much of the View that once the next Update comes out, the "Exclusives" from the Previous Month should be added into the Autoshow. It is simply just being Consumer Friendly and not Excluding People from Content they have *paid real money for* unless they Jump through Countless Hoops in Playlist or Paying through the Nose at the Auction House ! Personally, as I think Live Services should be *Outlawed* under the Consumer Rights act, I hope that Playlist is Removed from FH6 and it goes to a much better Combination of Autoshow, a Used Car Dealer (with some Used Dealer Exclusives such, as, say, Classic Hot Hatchbacks such as the Renault 5 GT Turbo) , the Auction House (which needs to Function more like GT7's Hagerty Collection, just without the MTX, (Seriously, MTX just needs to be *Outlawed* Now.. £200 for a Virtual McLaren F1 is Beyond the Pall!) as its where all the Super Rare and Valuable Cars like the Ferrari 250 GTO (both '62 and '64 Versions) should be) , Barn Finds, and one on one Boss Battles for Concept (like the Aston Martin Bulldog) Fictional (like the Quadra Turbo R V-tech) and Movie (like the "Ten Second" and "For Paul" JZA-80s ) Cars, no more Time and Skill Gates and Limited Access Exclusives! it is *Anti Consumer* ! Indeed, It is Beyond Me why FH4 and 5 use a 2D JPEG with Parallax, it is a *massive* Downgrade on 3 and its Proper, if low Poly, 3d Interiors! ! it is just *Laziness* I think and it needs to Stop! Indeed, there is no Doubt in my Mind that , given the Return of some Nasty Bugs (Texture Pop in, Distant Traffic Cars wheels not Rendering,) and Graphical Oversights (Static Paddle shifters, Exhaust Backfire remains in Default Location even when the Exhaust Pipes are Moved) that were Removed in FH4... that FH5 has indeed been built on the FH3 Engine Build Code rather than the more Advanced FH4 Engine Build Code, this absolutely Boggles Me given that this is, Hopefully, the *Last* Forza Game to be made on the Downright Elderly Forzatech M Engine, (FH6, I hope, will be made on F-Tech like FM Reboot/FM8) surely it should be based on the best Version of that Engine? Indeed, for FH6 they need to give more Ways to Sell a Car. Quick Sell: Car Sells Instantly, but its only 25% Value. Used Car Dealership: Takes Longer to sell, but gives 50% Value. Auction House and Car Meets: Car will sell for whatever someone is willing to Pay. Indeed, they need to Patch in an Option to "Disable UI Pop Ups" and to "Disable PR Stunts". its Called QOL. Indeed, Via the use of Invisible Walls so the Player Car could not access the Areas with Pedestrians, FH3 had full Pedestrians, with Lives and little Visual Stories (Friendships, Romance, etc) while Still meeting the Requirements of a PEGI 3 Rating (No Pedestrian Peril) having them just stand around in Five, and only appearing in one Area, due to the lack of Invisible Walls elsewhere to place them behind, is Laziness. Given the N64 could support up to Four Different Faces Per Character Model, I do not see why the Much more Powerful base Xbox One (in Comparison to the N64) , let alone a Vastly more Powerful Series Console or High end PC, cannot have Support for Multiple Different Faces Per Character Model, other than Laziness. Indeed, Hopefully, FH6 returns to what FH3 Did, using Invisible Walls to allow for a lot of "Pedestrian" Areas, giving us actual Animated Pedestrians who walk around, or Sit on Walls talking, or hold each others hands, and adds in support for more than one Face per Character Model on Top, to make whatever the Main city is, lets just say...Valetta ...for Arguments Sake, feel more alive! I agree, the Map for FH5 does seem like a Time warp, the UK is an Ancient Country, but it still feels like the Game is set in the 21st Century , FH5 feels, in Many Places, indeed, like it is set in 1963! it is Ridiculous! (Note: You should have used the Vocho for full effect!) it feels like Old Hat! Even the Bridge, Stadium and Hotel Zone (Which feels like it is Straight out of 1985!) feel Old, as they still feel like they are from the 1980's. The Airfield is just a Rusty old Crashed Heinkel away from being stuck in 1946! FH2 had the best Airport IMO. FH5 had Fuel Stations in the Beta Build, so why they got Removed I do not know, I can only assume they were Removed on Request of the Mexican Government for some Reason. As I mentioned, Modern Cities are not likely to Happen due to the Fact they Perform *Abysmally* on Base Xbox One , Surfers Paradise, to this Day, even with *all* of the Performance Patches installed, is *Still* Dropping down to 8 or 9 Frames Per Second on those Systems, and it is getting all but *Impossible* to get Licences to Feature Real World City Landmarks in Games now, Playground Openly Admitting on Live Stream that FH4 had Edinburgh rather than London because London City Council said No as they did not want their Cities Landmarks to be Featured in the Game due to "Terror Concerns" , so getting Permission to Do modern Cities is getting all but Impossible, and its not worth it given the Terrible Performance issues they cause on the Base Xbox One. Hopefully, FH6 does indeed go over to F-Tech, which does *not* Support Xbox One, only Series Consoles and High End PC, unless You use the "Virtual Series X" Via Cloud to Emulate the Game on the Xbox One, so the Performance issues wont be there with a Modern City, but it still does not deal with the Issues of City Councils saying "No" to their Cities being in the Game due to Not wanting their Landmarks Featured. One thing i dislike is the lack of customization and wreckage, also lack of color visual on vehicles, everytime i customize a vehicle, it feels bland and looks like all the other vehicles i made

2:11 I wouldn't really say the game is bug free because each time I turn off launch control it comes back on the second I quit the game and come back and after this NASCAR update if you use manual with clutch a bug will force the car to down shift with no input from the player and the only way for that to stop is to fight the bug by shifting up one gear.

Oh and if you spawn into a solo race against AI the car the player drives will randomly have its transmission set to reverse before the player even has full control of their ride and that's just on console.

Some cars are exclusives, the trueno apex gt being one of them. You have to play the game in order to get it or pay an outrageous amount which I like it that way. It means you actually have to grind to get some of the cars.

mate literally just change the filter on the map to fix the race pop ups? i cant see what the problem is. its not like you'll need to see where races are if ur cruising anyways

Not related but it annoys me that playground skipped the bugeye wrx sti. its the only GD chassis they dont have, and even to spice it up it could come as the S202 model, Prodrive, or Type RA. also, i own one so kinda sucks not having the car in game

Cant you disable all the pop ups, if you just filter all out of map? I might be wrong, but I believe if you just filter everything out when in map menu, then it shouldnt be showing up on the map and in the game as well...

A few massive things about 3 that should have been in 5. To start parking areas, the parking area locations and frequency were very realistic in horizon 3 and made for perfect meet up places/ places you could pull off to if you needed to afk. Legit everywhere you were on the map you didn’t have to drive far to find a spot, in horizon 5 there is obviously the stadium however there really aren’t that many areas to park up. Secondly I’d like to say the in depthness of the drivatars is nothing like it was in 3. You can still do the basic challenge mode with them but you can’t get them into a convoy for cruises and other than essentially being a spicy traffic car that you can race they have no other use in the game at all, whereas in 3 you could hire them into a crew and get money and rep from them over time as well as hunt down the perfect crew in super fun street races that felt real and organic. For the third I’d simply like to agree with the whole atmosphere thing as compared to 3, horizon 5 is so dead it’s depressing. Not to mention all of the npcs don’t move/ walk around. Fourth, I’m a massive fan of drifting. The mountain road is fun and amazing, however please give us more areas to go and drift. Literally all forza games have this same problem of having “the drift road” and the rest of the map is just straight lines and long sweeping corners with little mini drift zones scattered around. Give me an area, like a forested mountain section that’s like a quarter of the map and has loads of super fun and technical drifting that doesn’t all have to be designated “zones”. It would be killer to have something like that. To sum everything up, what I’m looking for is a believable/ realistic map that feels alive and fun all the time which always has something to do. Sure 5 can be nice when you’re running with a group but there’s always those times when it’s just you that wants to hop on.

Even then, i think the mountain road is just okay as a drift road. Some corners are so stretched out its basically impossible to connect to the next one in a clean way, you need to wiggle around to not lose traction or go off the road lmao

When you see those photos i forgor the name of with nobody in them they seem wrong and weird and can make some people feel unconfutable this is what you get when there are no people, unrealistic drivers and a lack of movement in a game too. They will really have to change things up for the next fh game if they want to make a change. If they use that engine that the next motorsport will use that would be a great start

The interior point got me thinking theres probably tons of levels in fh5 that are like the backrooms because theres tons of rooms,lack of society,and theres barely anything in the rooms. Honestly it would be cool to live in real life forza in a game for about a week then it would be pretty boring
