I love how Stoicism shifts the focus from external validation to inner mastery. It's a refreshing reminder that true confidence isn't about what we achieve, but about controlling our reactions and staying aligned with our values. Epicurus’ quote 'No one is free who is not master of himself' really resonated with me!

Absolutely! It’s so empowering to realize that our confidence and freedom come from within rather than from external sources. Stoicism teaches us to cultivate resilience and focus on what we can control, which is such a liberating mindset. Epicurus’ quote is spot on-mastering ourselves is key to true freedom. Have you found any specific Stoic practices or philosophies that help you in your daily life? It would be great to hear how you apply these ideas and how they’ve impacted your journey!

The idea of seeing failure as a stepping stone rather than a defeat is such a game changer. Stoic wisdom reminds us that resilience comes from embracing challenges, and that's exactly what I needed to hear today. Thomas Edison's mindset of 'I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work' is incredibly empowering!

Marcus Aurelius' line, 'You have power over your mind, not outside events,' really stuck with me. It’s so relevant today in a world where we are bombarded with distractions. Let’s focus on mastering our thoughts and living authentically-what a powerful way to build true confidence!

Believing in myself is like believing that the earth is flat. Just because you believe in it doesn’t mean there is something worth believing in.
@Stoic-Saga10129 күн бұрын
That’s an interesting analogy! Belief can be challenging, especially when it feels unfounded. It’s all about finding what truly resonates with you. Keep seeking that solid ground!

Sometimes I look around and I just wonder, “what is all this?” Why is it all here, and why can I see it? How do I know that everything around me isn’t just a figment of my imagination? Why is life here? Could dead material really have created living things? But then I tell my self not to worry, cause it probably doesn’t matter anyway.

I don’t entirely agree with disregarding external recognition. Social respect is still an important part of confidence, not everyone can rely solely on themselves
