well, Bulma already knew what happens to Sayians if they kept their tails with her experience with Goku when he was a kid, because remember Bulma and Goku knew each other back when Goku was a kid, so she probably had Trunks's tail removed and same went Goten and Pan was only 1/3 Sayian, so she probably didn't have a tail.
