A lot of the weird Gameboy accessories are actually pretty clever idea because of the market at the time. Integrating computing power into your device was really expensive. Since Gameboys were so mass produced it was cheaper to connect to a Gameboy than have a built in processor. No one was really expecting gamers to use a sewing machine, but the sewing machine + a gameboy was cheaper than the computerized sewing machine.

Seeing Johnny Arcade using the laser scope brought back memories of that Nintendo power show. That same design was used for a voice activated water gun. Can’t recall what it was called though, but it was just as annoying.

The pedisedate is kind of nice, I can tell the people that made it really care about kids. Going under for surgery can be terrifying for kids, so I'm sure it would help them. Though you could just give them, like, a Gameboy and put them to sleep while they're playing it. A bit stupid but it's intentions were pure

hey, that's MY pocket sonar! in case anyone is wondering, i DID catch a fish (chain pickerel) while using it in that video! it definitely picks up fish and your lure on the display, though for ice fishing, a "flasher mode," which it lacks, would be preferable. also, i can't read Japanese. i've been meaning to use it on open water one of these days. when i do, i'll let ya'll know. my channel is so small, cool to see a short clip of my content on such a big platform!

Haha I had surgeries when I was 7 and 8 years old. I was out cold almost instantly when they sedated me. If I played a Gameboy while they were doing that, I wouldn’t make it passed the Gameboy Nintendo intro.

I didn't have to many peripherals but I did at one point own the gameboy fish sonar gameboy I had was second hand and it came with that and about 30 games it worked and it was the oddest thing that was in my video game collection

The playon game boat sounds like something you should try, to really become the first people to use it in an IRL stream or some paddling pool! Coming into the list I thought THQ's ill conceived uDraw for the PS3 and 360 would be on here, but that was commercially disastrous, not strange, and seeing the weird stuff on the list blew that out of the water!

It just didn't make sense when activision kinda pumped out a Tony hawk game nearly every year but one only compatible with one particular game 🙄

The only NES peripherals I had were 2 completely different styles of turbo joysticks and the Game Genie. I used to just put in random characters in the Game Genie to see what would happen in the game. You would be surprised at all the fucked up stuff you could do when you did that. lol.
