@@lovuwy. I have worked in fashion retail and I can tell you, new clothes are just as "dirty". It's not like new and thrifted clothes are super filthy, but both have to be washed. New clothes are usually full of chemicals, people sometimes throw them on the ground after trying them on, some people are super sweaty when trying them on, and they are usually produced under inhumane conditions. Thrifted clothes have stood the test of time, they are used but usually still in good condition, chances are they will last quite a while. I have started thrifting 6 years ago and haven't bought anything new, my wardbrobe is versatile and unique. You should definitely try thrifting! Just wash the clothes and they're as good as new.

I actually love the look of the short necklaces and broader shoulders. I think it looks delicate and powerful at once and I think that’s a beautiful look. I also have broader shoulders, and I think that makes the collarbone very pronounced, a short necklace draws attention to the collarbone (which draws attention to the shoulders as well), but I think it creates beautiful lines. I’m all about the look. But obvs that’s just my opinion and it doesn’t have to be just so of course.

I'm on the short side with a pear shaped body and they make me look like I have legs up my neck as well 😂 I have a short torso rather than short legs, the torso is slim and bony, while hip bones and thighs are round and wide. High wasted jeans emphasize this disproportion and make the upper part of my body disappear. There's no such thing as _"the feminine body"_ , it's just a matter of bone structure and fat distribution. To be honest, my most used pair of jeans is high waisted. It's the way it hugs my hips, I never thought jeans could be as comfortable and I can't go back. But I can see it's not a flattering look.
@bih56164 жыл бұрын
i think that when a, f.e., tall, rectangular shaped female wears high waisted jeans it just looks really unflattering. Girl, your neck and shoulders are gorgeous. I know as women it can be hard to feel good about parts of us that aren't dainty, but you look like you work out. That's a good thing. You look sculpted and your curves and lines in that area are super pretty. It took me a while to like my back because it's pretty muscular, but luckily my boyfriend is super vocal about what he likes about me and I realized that it was all the things I was self conscious about: the muscles in my back, the soft parts of my thighs, my height, etc. The longer necklace did look better, but your neck and shoulders are amazing either way!

I love deep v-necks because i feel like it draws the attention down and in and breaks up the horizontal line a bit and YES on the hairstyle thing, it needs to be considered. my biggest makeup tip/discovery ive made for myself recently was to do my eyebrows after my hairstyle and my eyelashes because i feel like if youve got dramatic lashes and you wear your hair away from your face (like a ponytail or with a headband) then you can get away with bolder brows and what you mightve thought looked wayyy too dark before doing your hair actually looks good.

This is so true. Getting a pair of jeans is easy. Getting well fitted pair of jeans is near to impossible. I also happened to have most “high waisted” jeans reaching under my actual waist and all sorts of “embracing” shapes jeans would still be too tight in my thighs. Unfortunately tailoring is not an option for me. I also tended to buy too big pants all the time and then once they stretch out a little it wouldn’t look good anymore. Now I choose stretchy material jeans, choose ones which has fitting me waist. I buy one size too small and wear it for a day at home. Then they fit me like a glove and I don’t need belt with it, which most of the time I hate..

Thank you for this video. I feel that nowadays when we choose new clothes we think that it's us that need to fit in them. But it's the opposite - the clothes should fit us and our bodies so we should experiment and pick pieces that we look and feel comfortable in, not blindly follow trends and sizes.

God damn honestly I follow so many fashion you tubers and instagrammers and even actual designers but if I could have anybody’s wardrobe it would be yours hands down

If you feel that your shoulders are broad everything that makes a vertical line will help (high turtleneck or deeper v neck). Also, I am not sure if it's the camera, I think you could be deep winter color seasoning. If that's the case I think that a bit cooler toned earrings would work great on you.

When you said you don't want to look like a linebacker lol I've literally said those exact words. I feel like I have broad shoulders and a thicker neck and I'm always trying find ways to look more delicate, even though my friends say I'm crazy for thinking that way about myself. It's so helpful to get tips from someone with a similar body type so thank you!! PS you are beautiful and do not look like a linebacker at all!

Also I very much relate about the "prominent" natural hair

This is so helpful. I think we have similar body types, in that my shoulder/neck area isnt necessarily dainty lol... and I'm constantly trying to look sleek/dainty (my curly hair doesnt help). So this is great advice! Thank you! will be watching more of your videos

What if you use dainty hairclips on one side? I don't know what type of hair you have but maybe it can work for you! 🤗

Such an interesting video. Also, we have similar body types so this is even more useful.

I love this video! Super useful tips, some of which I’ve learned from years of doing it wrong, and new ones that I will definitely be using! Can you do a video with some of your favorite very-high waisted jeans? I am also a fellow long-torso gal who struggles to find high rises that can also fit my muscular butt and thighs! Thanks so much 💕

We have the same thick shoulders and broad shoulders...i find it really hard to wear tight shirts because as you said we'd be looking like a line backer😂 ..but ive been doing exercises to straighten my back so that it will not look as thick
