In addition to using spring water and the Song of Storms to grow magic beans in Majora's Mask, planting magic beans during the second day will also cause the plant to instantly grow if the beans are planted outside, due to the rain on that particular day.

@@akward4210 interesting, my comment comes from watching plenty of MM randomizer and knowing the various logic for the checks. Some are locked by beans and I’ve never heard or seen someone using day 2 rain as logic to be able to grow a bean to reach the check. Maybe it only works in a few areas. I can’t see it working in Great Bay Coast, Inverted Stone Tower Temple and I feel like stump chest in Termina field also not. Perhaps its only for deku palace?

Speaking of bombs, OoT's explosion hitboxes radiate out over time while MM's are instantly at max radius. It's why hovering is basically free in MM, while OoT requires you to do things that shorten your lateral movement (wearing hover boots, backflipping in to a wall, etc.). Edit: I believe it's also why single bomb superslides are free in MM and finicky in OoT.

I believe the timer in Majora's Mask was made that way because of the timing game you play with the Postman. It makes that game harder to hit exact 10 seconds. Then again, you can use the Bunny Hood to make the timer appear just like in Ocarina of Time.

@@MrMudbill I think he means that normally, whwn you try out the Postman's minigame, the timer visual cue will only show you Minutes and Seconds. If you wear the Bunny Hood, it will also show the milliseconds. The main benefit of the Bunny Hood though, is that it will allow you to have the timer display all the way to the 10 second mark, whilist if you don't use it, it will banish after 3 seconds, while also deafening the ticking, leaving you with a null chance to clear the minigame.

Since childhood, I always had so many questions about those cows in the grottos of OoT and Majora's. How did they get down there? Why do they seem so resigned to their fate? What do they eat? I always took it as the locations in these games are just scaled down versions of what they're meant to represent "in lore" i.e. a grotto like that could be just a small part of a larger cave and the cow got in through some entrance unseen by us.

I suspect most of the differences in Blue Bubbles has to do with them being in only dungeons vs wandering the overworld. It makes more sense to have them be a tough when they're in a contained room, and serve as a challenge that must be overcome to progress. Where as if they were that complicated and strong in the overworld you'd either have to stop what you're doing to slowly defeat them one by one, or have a semi-invulnerable sword-cursing enemy hassling you EVERY time you pass through. The changes also make them easier to defeat on horseback.

While not really as subtle as most of the ones mentioned in this list, some little things that always stood out to me between the two games was how OOT's explosion effects used a billboarded sprite that just rotated, while MM had an actual 3D particle effect, and how MM's pause menu scrolls *significantly* faster than OOT's.

Blue Bubbles seem to have been made easier overall, what with their susceptibility to being attacked with the sword in the first place. 2:00 it'd be impossible to know this unless you played the version where this room actually was used. The American version doesn't use this room.

@@bewearstar9462 I know. They're an endangered species in Termina. Hyrule has too damn many of 'em.

I was about to say, that always stuck out to me, there's just that one random Wallskulltula in the entire game in that one random hole. Similarly the Peahat, common in OOT, shows up only once in a single hidden cavern underneath Termina Field in MM.
