My hubby and I sometimes go to Jason's Deli (in Texas) and split a great fresh meal with leftovers for about $15. We order a large BBQ baked potato cut in half (they will put it on separate plates) and a 1 trip salad bar (a chilled bowl that we load up with our favorite salad goodies and jalapenos for the BBQ), and two ice waters. We put lemon in our water, ask for an extra small bowl for dressing, use the provided small plates for complimentary gingerbread muffins and garlic toast, then have dessert of chocolate or vanilla soft serve ice cream sprinkled with nuts from the salad bar. We end up taking a large part of the salad and potato home for a nice supper later.

Your fast food employee disclaimer is greatly appreciated. As a CFA employee I am privy to the fact that the company operates on franchises, which means any operator can alter rules and prices to the leisure within reason. Basically, yeah at one location a hack might work, but at another it might not. The store I work at actually has the cookie crumble button off, and when someone asks for extra cookie we are told to use the chocolate syrup button and charge $.20.

Hi Matt! Love your videos! I do have to ask for a correction though. I work at Sam’s and please please please do not tell people to go in through the exit door. This can be a nightmare for the people working the doors, especially during busy times. You do not need a membership for the cafe, pharmacy or liquor. All you have to do is tell the person at the door that you are going to the cafe and you can go right in. Please be kind to the people that are working these positions. The reason why Costco's food court foods are so cheap is because they purposely sell at a loss. The food court is meant to get you interested in Costco. Source: My mom worked there for 6 years and she's still working there today.
@watchyourtimeco12 жыл бұрын
The Single Cheese at Wendy's uses their larger burger patty (officially a 4 ounce patty). The Double Stack uses the smaller patty used in the Junior burgers (officially a 1.78 ounce patty). So you're not getting an extra patty with the DoubleStack. Your deal still works though because you're getting the same amount of meat (roughly) and toppings in both, but the bun and patties on the DoubleStack are smaller.

Hey Matt, don't throw out those Burger King coupons. Even if they've expired, most employees will still accept the coupons. Last I checked, they never change the codes. How does the Pizza Hut Tastemaker end up at $12 if it's $10 with 3 toppings free?? You have to watch with PH because there's a lot they don't tell you with their "deals". I called and ordered that $10 Tastemaker a couple weeks ago and ordered pepperoni, sausage, and extra cheese as my 3 toppings. The kid on the phone said "Anything else?" I said "no". He said "Okay. That will be $12.49" and hung up. When I picked it up, I questioned why it wasn't $10.60 (.60 c tax in PA). She said "it's an extra charge for extra cheese". So I questioned two things.....why wasn't I told that when I ordered, and if it's extra, why wasn't I offered a third free topping? The girl said "well, it's on the website". REALLY?? Well I'm 70 years old and not everyone goes to websites. And PH's website is definitely NOT user friendly. So anyhow, just be aware when ordering this $10 special from them. Shifty.

Like Matt said in the video, it's not worth ruining the employee's day to save a couple dollars. Not everyone is great at customer service but everyone has bills to pay. They gave you exactly what you ordered, and they're just doing what they're told by upper management especially when the POS system rings up $12.49, they really can't change much without the manager bypassing what the POS system says. I think your complaint should be taken to corporate if your complaint is about PH not honoring their deals.

Lastly you can also use the Costco pharmacy without a membership as well, some things you do get an extra discount on prescriptions with the membership but you still save alot, especially when you check their good RX prices/coupons before you go. 😀

Even their recent half price promotion with the same pizza and toppings cost more. There is a choice of several crust types. If you want to reduce carbs, their thin crisp crust helps. When it comes to sandwiches, my hack is buying a loaf of garlic herb bread from the bakery section of Walmart for 1.00-1.10, scoop out some of the excess bread (Optional, cover scooped bread pieces in garlic herb butter and toast them in the oven with a little mozzarella) buy a pack of turkey, some bacon, provolone and French fried onions. All together will be less than 15 dollars. Usually enough turkey for 2 sandwiches, enough bacon for a few sandwiches, enough french fried onions for a few sandwiches. So either buy a few loaves of bread and freeze some of them or just buy the bread and turkey fresh as you need since bacon and French fried onions have a long shelf life

And “hacks” such as asking for free bacon seems IMO like abusing the system. Saving money by creative ordering already on the menu is different.

Matt~I felt that I needed to update you about Membership and the Food Court at Costco in San Bernardino, CA. My son stood in line behind about 15 people to get us hot dogs for lunch. As I sat waiting for his return he reappeared only to tell me that he needed a Costco Membership Card to buy food. I gave him mine and he was able to purchase our lunch. They didn't ask him whose card it was or for ID, but he had to have a Costco Membership card to purchase our lunch. Just wanted to let you know that bit of info. This was a fun video. Thanks! Have a great week! :-)

Yea I guess I depends on location, my friend said they guilted him on how it’s prices are only for members because they don’t profit from their food court. Then let him in after all that lecture lol
@loverlyredhead Жыл бұрын
It definitely varies by location. The Texas ones have self-serve kiosks and no membership is needed to order. My husband will be checking out at the register with our haul and I run over to order the food so our kids get their food sooner.

Matt, I have a hack for you... At Culver's just like the ones you talked about in the video get the kids meal. Same size fries. Same size burger but smaller drink with their kids meal. You get a free scoop or chocolate or vanilla custard for free and it's like $6.19 by me. I'm starting to buy that for myself. It's perfect portion you don't overeat which we tend to do with bigger sizes and get free dessert. And they're custard's amazing and if you get it to go sometimes they don't take that free scoop of ice cream off your bag. Then you get another free scoop of ice cream ta-da!!!!! Had to share with you. Matt, God bless

I'm not a big eater so I often order kid's meals anyway.And yes I've noticed that they are often the same size as the adult version. I swear there's more roast beef on the kid's Arby sandwich than the adult however.

As a former chic-fil-a worker, I bet you could add anything (within reason) to that special order box on the mobile app and get it without paying extra. Since you’re dealing with the app and it’s a bit of a hassle for a non-management employee to alter it in-store, I bet your success rate will be quite high…unless they patch it out of the app.

I go to Moes and order one taco (cheaper than kids meal) and ask for it to be open faced* I load up on rice and a little extra of the other included items (but especially rice!!) then end up with a slightly smaller burrito that I eat with their free chips and salsa

For Starbucks, don't order an Americano, just order a quad espresso with water. Saves about 80 cents and it's the same thing. You can do the same thing for an iced, and if you have a nice barista, ask them to blend it and it's an espresso frappacino. Any milk won't be steamed and limited to 4oz, but it's not needed calories.

These are great hacks. I did my own at mcds other day. I wanted to use the bogo bfast sandwich on the app. I wanted a bagel sandwich and my kid wanted a plain sausage mcgriddle which is excluded from the offer. I just ordered a sausage egg and cheese mcgriddle without the cheese or egg. He got his wish and I didn't have to pay extra.

The Wendy’s thing is good, but the patties and buns are different sizes. It’s the same amount of meat all together, so still a good deal. It’s cool that they only charge you for adding cheese or bacon. I always tomato and onion to the crispy chickens.

I’d advise against using the “additional requests” section to try and skip up-charges. At many franchises those requests will only be seen by the person bagging your food, not the person making the food. And, from personal experience, they are annoying and might go unnoticed during peak hours. Sometimes we’ll even ignore them, or leave a note that the item was ordered incorrectly, if a manager notices that you didn’t pay for the additional items. But you might get lucky.
@nickfosley28822 жыл бұрын
It is always worth it to at least try, the worse thing that can happen is that you just won't get free addons. My advice is, if it doesn't work after 3 times then you should stop trying and then maybe try again a few weeks later. I can't imagine it ruining anyone's day, it's merely text
