A product we've come to full hearted belive in is the Habor Freight Tool (HFT), black mesh, 60%-70% UV ray blocking, tarps. For ourselves and others, we've wrapped them around 4"x4" on roofs, hung them from eaves, used them in place of curtains and also as curtain liners, wrapped them around covered decks, used them to make deck and patio coverings, and also as shade sails or sun sails. Air and breezes can flow through them and they can reduce temperatures from 5 to 20 degrees on thier own as a passive system in place of air conditioning and/ or reduce the work load on air conditioning. They seem to last a good 5 to 10 years but we have one older than that.

You should really look into Lab Muffin Beauty Science's videos about how sunscreen filters that are "Reef Safe" isn't really backed up by the literature. She has a few really good videos regarding SPF that I really love!

I have a really hard time finding vegan replacements because I don't tolerate yeast well! The only good vegan burgers without yeast are specifically the beyond backyard griller burgers, they come in a green box. Highly recommend.

A swap i will consciously be making going forward are teas which are NOT Lipton. Lipton has eliminated the paper packaging, or cover, on thier individual tea bags but has added a sealed mylar slip cover over each tray, or column of tea bags.

We are differently working to live frugally which often goes hand-n-hand with Reduce, Re-Use, Recycle. In terms of products, it has been difficult to find good, old fashioned Kool-Aide packets without sweetener added. Our search has brought us to look at shelves and displayers of Kool-Aid and other brands of sugar added summer drinks, sugar substitutes of sweetened products, little plastic squeeze bottles of sweetened flavors, tubes with flavoring and sugar, tubes of flavorings with artifical sweetener, and probably more which I've missed. From a dollar standpoint, its all pretty expensive sugar or artifical sweetener. From an eco-friendly packaging perspective my goodness its a lot of thin cardboard, plastic, plastic jugs, plastic bottles, and mylar. (Mylar is a packaging material we are trying to avoid for eco-friendly reasons as being primary.) - One of our swaps this year is to trade some of those bottled and canned summer hydration and drinks this year for good, old fashioned Kool-Aid. And within the Kool-Aid and other flavored, powder and drops options to skip the pre-sweetened versions. Yes, we lead with frugality as a reason but in terms of packaging, plastic, plastic bottles, aluminum cans, and mylar keeping to the unsweetened version is also eco-friendly.

I have the incense cone version of that mosquito repellent and it does NOT work for me. Mosquitos LOVE me, and I've tried all kinds of essential oil/citronella/"natural" type of repellent spray, candle, clip-on, bracelet, etc, and they don't work at all for me. It's quite frustrating!
@StrollingThroughLife2 жыл бұрын
Oh no! That's such a bummer! I definitely understand your frustration. I wish there was a miracle product out there! I'll still give my incense sticks a try and see how they work for me. If you ever find a great product, let me know! :)

Great video!! Yes, sunscreen is sooooooo important! I cringe every time I see the Banana Boat or aerosol sport ones!! Avoid all the O-chemicals everyone! So bad for you and the environment!!
