Sorry for the rant, but what kinda annoys me about the friggin "5 AM Club" is how they think they're so special when in reality there are hundreds of millions of people who wake up at 5 AM, or even 4 AM. But I guess it's only cool when you're rich and do it by choice and not because you have to commute 3 hrs to work or get a ton of outdoors work done before the sun can turn you into a mummy.

The woman that lied about her husband coming second when he actually came 32nd is both hilarious and sad. The fact that she thinks she can get away with lying when it’s easily disprovable but also, her husband came 32nd out of 500 other men. That’s pretty freaking good and to lie about it makes that accomplishment seem like it’s not good enough.

I mean how else do you film a morning routine? My issue isn’t recreating something to film it, my issue is if you say you wake up at 5 but don’t. I get why for filming purposes you have to reshoot something because unless you hire a camera man to follow you in real time you have to fudge with the timeline somewhat. What’s disingenuous is if you’re touting the 5 am wake up as some sort of lifestyle hack that you’ve supposedly gained all these benefits from but you don’t actually wake up at 5. If the guy wakes up at 5 and does his routine then recreates it at 8 am so he can actually capture it on film then I don’t see the issue. These aren’t live feeds nor do they purport to be, everyone knows the content is edited.

As a professional cleaner my biggest pet peeve with the vast majority of influencers is when they pre-clean before their “clean with me” videos. I can 100% tell they already cleaned themselves or hired someone. It really bothers me bc I have clients who now believe it’s normal to have your home that clean all the time & can tell it affects their mental health.
@flaxline8 ай бұрын
But on the same side as those influencers, there are cleaning-influencers who promote and normalize obsessive cleaning as part of their daily routine (or what feels like, their whole daily routine), state that this is sustainable and doable in just 10-15 minutes a day and everyone who can't sustain that routine and that kind of spotless home is just lazy and nasty. You'll find their fans in the comment of "let's normalize normal homes" reels, being disgusted about perfectly acceptable, relatively tidy homes.

Until one day I got to her place earlier than agreed on cause I wasn't doing anything, I texted her but she didn't read it apparently, and I found her chilling in the backyard with a cleaning lady in the house. As always she had told me she was going to be cleaning that afternoon 😂 To say she was embarassed is an understatement. So, I was a pathological liar for a long time. I lied about EVERYTHING, no matter how inconsequential. It stemmed from living in an emotionally and verbally abusive household where I was constantly walking on eggshells. It was better to lie and placate than tell the truth. I realised around 17 or 18 that it was becoming a problem, it was something I thoroughly disliked about myself. I started going to therapy, challenging myself to always be honest. I can now comfortably say that I'm a far more honest person than I was when I began. I can't imagine not only falling into my lies but PROMOTING them to millions of people. It's just...insane.

I used to work at Disneyland and the amount of fakeness is alarming. People would literally go buy whatever treat is trending and film it, maybe take a bite or sip and then THROW IT AWAY! So many people scrape their money to go to the park and a lot of cast members can’t even afford to treat themselves yet they can watch you just throw stuff away. Note to influencers, if you’re not going to consume your treat, how about asking someone in line if they want yours for free after you just film it real quick?

@Razhali7 ай бұрын
This would also infuriate me! When I buy something that Idk if Itd like, I will always try to find someone whod want it if I end up not liking it. Usually, my mom eats what I cant eat but when she cant, I look for homeless. Example: 1. Starbucks had come out with Lavender flavored drinks so I tried a Lavender Almond Milk beverage but it was so sweet and I dont like overly sweet things. My mom is a diabetic so I didnt want her to drink it for me so I asked around Fredmeyers where I bought it and it took about 3 people to say no for 1 person to finally say yes. When I hand something to someone else, I hope they actually enjoy it. Theres no point in handing it to someone who is just going to throw it away when you handed it to them to avoid the waste. I found her in line at the cash register as I was going to the restroom and asked her how she liked it. She said she enjoyed it but is saving it for her daughter because her daughter liked lavender flavored things so I repeated to her what the beverage was, that way, she could order it again in the future. 2. Another thing I do is if I have leftover food or bought to much then I can actually eat, Ill first find a homeless person (they are more likely to appreciate the offer and less likely to feel offended by it) or someone I know who likes the thing I want to get rid of. If I cant find anyone then I leave it on top of something. I could be on top a trash can or dumpster (since homeless are seen rummaging them all the time) or somewhere else in clear view for a person to find it quickly. Sometimes, I might hold onto it until I can find a person who will appreciate the offer (like a teddy bear or other gift that wont expire.) Its so easy to be considerate that it's heartbreaking that people choose not to be. Like, I'm poor but I still try to help when I can. I usually opt to giving food away instead of money, especially to homeless. That way, I know that they are getting what they actually need. Like I dont want to fund their alc. or dr*g habits but I want them to be able to eat something so I'll ask them if they want anything specific from the store. Usually, its such a simple request like milk or a bag of chips.The only time I'll refuse to help someone is if they are demanding it, following me around, making me uncomfortable, or reject the offer and ask for cash. I'm extra generous when someone ends up being selfless. Like once, my mom and I offered a lady some food and asked her what she'd want. She told my mom that she didnt need anything, she was doing it for her dog so the dog wouldnt go hungry before her money came in and they just gone homeless. So, my mom went inside to buy a box of dog treats for the dog AND food for the lady. Another time, I asked this homeless guy what he wanted me to buy him and he told me milk and something else but then recanted and said he wanted to give his offer to his friend and asked for something else instead like soda and chips so my mom and I went into the store and got everything the guy asked for so that both him and his buddy could have something. If I was an influencer and no matter who I asked at Disneyland if they wanted my food or whatever and everyone said "no thanks" for whatever reason...I'd definitely hold on to them for as long as I could and either eat it later or find someone outside of Disneyland to give it to. I once had a guy accept a day old Tacobell burrito and told him that it was "yesterdays burrito that I couldnt eat" and he had no destain about it whatsoever. Sorry for the long comment. I'm hoping that if anyone reads this then maybe they can get some ideas from it on how they can be more considerate towards others and less wasteful.

The thing I find most offensive is influencers who make their faith a central part of their channel while lying. A lot of people of faith use a shared religion as a heuristic for “good person” but it’s pretty obvious that these influencers either are not living up to their faith’s expectations around honesty or they’re catering to a market they think can be manipulated that way-another lie.

The honey jar lie is almost certainly to avoid criticism about how wasteful it is to move acrylic paint from one "ugly" container into totally new ones for no other reason than aesthetics. Double the plastic so that you can have your paint look good sitting on a shelf.

My thought is she did this entirely for the video and probably threw the bottles out after filming. At the end she says they're on display in her "craft room" - I don't know who she is and I haven't see her other videos, but what craft room comes with a sink, and an empty shelf for display purposes right above it? It looks like a bathroom, and there's no reason to keep bears full of paint in a bathroom.

Democracy Now is a good American based news source but it still has some problems.

I think the saddest thing is that if half of these people were honest ("I'm going to show you my morning routine, I'm recreating it because I didn't want to film so early, but this gives you an idea"), no one would mind or care. We all watch KZbin and TV shows knowing they're not filming at the exact time, and everyone knows it takes time to set up shots and stuff. No one would be like "how dare you recreate it".

Haha yeah, and not even a - ok I’ll give it to ya kinda thing. For anyone that doesn’t live on the island or know it.. from me in east Nassau, anything past like Wyandanch, Deer Park is starting to be called ‘out East’. It isn’t really really, but, it’s like country living compared to living in the City. I’ve been to that diner, and I always thought it was in Dix Hills. It’s over that way anyway, really nice area, lots of trees, just nice. Like OP said it’s over an hour to the city. My point from above is like, there are some border towns in Nassau that some people won’t full on argue with you it “technically” isn’t the city. Like Valley Stream or any other that borders. It’s right there, you just go a road over and you’re ’in the city’. So fine.. if it was Elmont, Valley Stream area, okay whatever. Trust me, she is way out (compared to the city). I’m not saying she’s out by Montauk, Baiting Hollow, Riverhead, Hamptons whatever. It’s early Suffolk, but, it’s Suffolk nonetheless. Commack is 20 minutes maybe 30 from the border to Nassau.. the county that borders the city… There’s a lot of people .. ugh, iNfLuEnCerS.. that live near and around me that pretend to live ‘in the city’. Our traffic is different, our politics is different, our money is different, it is just not the same. They can’t even right on red in the city, I mean, that’s like a totally different country over there.. tf. Acting like you live in the city when you live 2 counties, not towns, counties, over is a bit lul.

Omg where were you when we witnessed this bold faced lie. We had two foreign exchange students staying with us and before they left we took them on a quick, "cheap" Princess Cruise from SoCal to Mexico. They were so excited because one of the girls recognized an influencer she followed. So of course they quietly stalked her around the ship out of excitement, while carefully following her page to see what she was posting. This influencer took a selfie on the balcony of the ship with Catalina Island in the background and captioned "Spending Time On Daddy's Yacht". She was trying to make her followers think she was a spoiled little rich girl, but she was straight up lying, she was on a crappy ship with 600 other people. It taught my exchange students a valuable lesson: people can say whatever they want, but that doesn't mean it's the truth. As 15-16 year olds it was a great lesson to not envy another persons life just because they flaunt it publicly. Oh how I wish I could remember her name so you can find the post.
