I've realized after watching this that most people I see doing Bachata socially aren't really dancing Bachata. They're just stepping through turn patterns. I'm going to just focus on this basic movement for a few weeks.
@BWater-yq3jx5 ай бұрын
This might be helpful to others: I broke down the movement slowly into a count of 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 5 & 6 & 7 & 8 & Practised without music at first, then on very slow tracks that are almost half the speed of typical bachata music. Just stepping in one direction continually, then coming back the other way. What really helped me to get this, is to count the steps on the beat and the hip movement off the beat. So... (Hip) Step Hip Step Hip etc ( & ) 1 & 2 & Get that going, then add the chest/arms. Then do the regular basic left & right with the tap. 😁👍

This is the one of the Best video of the channel! Thank you To be honest what I'd like to see more is analizing dances from the members. It was amazing few weeks ago. Plus, I don't find many good videos about home practicing (in front of the mirror) sensual moves. Thank you All the Best!
@MariusElenaBachata5 ай бұрын
As much as I can I will keep up with that project as well. If only the day would have 50 hours =)) About practicing sensual moves (solo) I am creating a playlist with warm-ups/practice videos. I will add unto that things like waves, isolations etc training session you can do alone.

I'm so tired of looking like a frickn duck when I dance. 😅 My pelvic tilt is crazy. Can you make a longer video for this? Seem like a common problem for many followers! Like in close position, I'm ducking like crazy. 🦆😁 Not pretty, and my lower back gets completely... fucked! 😄 Love you guys!! ❤️💕 Thank you.
@MariusElenaBachata5 ай бұрын
Definitely will do a video. Until then, what I can recommend are exercises. Usually any tilt is because of an area being tensed and one being to relaxed. In general, to fix that you need to do exercises for the opposite side. So, to tense the relaxed part, and relax the tensed part. This isn't medical advice, and a kinetotherapist will greatly help you more. :D

@@Julia.WildNothing Thank you :P Maybe we will come. Gonna let our manager know that Sweden wants us :P The paradox of the dance world is that teachers don't travel to teach as much entertainers travel to... teach =))

Not helped by the fact that women are encouraged to arch their backs and stick their butts out. As he kinda said, you need to reverse that by bracing the core and lifting the pelvis the other way. This is fundamental in arts like Tai Chi; bending the knees also, helps to get your hips back under your body.

should i also step on the inside edge of my feet like in some ballroom latin dances?
@MariusElenaBachata2 ай бұрын
No. Different techniques. If you have professional training in ballroom then you can adapt that technique, otherwise don't use it because without proper training your mess up your legs.

At tip 5 can you please explain to me why ladies do the exact opposite and try to arch their back as much as possible?
@MariusElenaBachata5 ай бұрын
Because... social media. It's not healthy nor necessarily to arch it like that. But... people without proper dance training (anatomy, technique, etc...) just do it because it looks better. Also, there are some persons that have a forward tilt, which is a "defect" and they have the lower back over-arched, but that's again... not healthy.

i thought the sensual and the 8 are the same?
@MariusElenaBachata5 ай бұрын
Nope. Definitely not. There are even more ways of moving the hips, but the "sensual" is when you push straight as you touch the floor. The 8 is different. ALso for the dominican there are more variations, but I was trying to keep it as simple as possible.
@frilipp13485 ай бұрын
@@MariusElenaBachata where can i find out about this cause I only knew about side to side by bending and stretching plus the 8
@MariusElenaBachata5 ай бұрын
@@frilipp1348 Do you mean about the difference in more details? Because in the video I showed the difference and explained the concept. Or is there something specific you are thinking about?

I wouldn't go as far as to use the term "master" as it takes far more than these beginner/intermediate tips than these, but great tips for a solid foundation!
@MariusElenaBachata4 ай бұрын
It's true that there is more than this to master but 2 reasons for the thumbnail : 1. if we don't use what youtube recommends, we don't reach dancers (youtube actually gives us thumbail a/b testing and this was the one that won). So, I don't want to click bait (putting naked girls on the thumbnails which exists in our niche lol, or over hyped thumbanils) but we can't either put "10 Techniques to learn" - this was the other thumbnail which failed :P We do what we have too :)) 2. These are not beginner/intermediate tips. This are the fundamentals (not all of them). I can show you "advanced" dancers that lack majority of these.
