Note: "Gay" term is generally used for anyone who's part of the LGBTQ+ spectrum, it does not limit to the "Gay" or "Homosexual" people who are only attracted to same sex. You could be Pansexual or Bi and be still called "Gay" generally. Some choose not to label themselves, so they don't have to be specific to whatever they want to be called. Sexual orientation and gender identity can change over time.

Stan LGBTQ actors because representation matters. It's not just nosiness like a lot of people seem to think. It's having public figures playing roles that are representative of different sexual orientations and gender identity. And then the joy you feel finding out that they are like you! Like seeing your race represented, you can't just say "it doesn't matter" because these people are sometimes the only way young people know that their sexuality isn't wrong and that they are made perfectly. 😊

while I do agree with that, what I find troubling and am noticing more and more, that people, mostly fans in particular, feeling it is their right to demand that actors come out when they may not be ready or feel comfortable doing so. or even worse people close to the actors outing them to get their own "5 minutes of fame" or because they felt the fans were owed "the truth" about an actors orientation. both just make me so mad! no one is "owed" answers to anyone's orientation! that being said, I do hope the fact that they know we are here to support them if they choose to come out and that it won't have the same negative impact on their career as it may have had even a few years ago gives them whatever courage they need to come if they choose. but I'm hating this trend I feel I'm seeing of either forcing them to come out or bashing them for not.

I say Stan LGBTQ actors because we as BL fans tend to overlook the actually out LGBTQ actors in the industry, a lot of people also obsess over who they "think" or "believe" is LGBTQ. Although I love a lot of the straight actors who take on these roles, I think it's important to show support for people who are actually a part of the community instead of this weird thing we have going with very little acknowledgement of these wonderful beings. It feels like the sexuality equivalent of "whitewashing" I don't know if there's an actual word for this..."staightwashing"? "gay gentrification"? 😂😅😣😣😣

As an American watching Thai BL, I have a few things to say. 1. If they are straight cis males or not, the respect I have for them is tremendous. They may not all act like stars, but to me, every Thai actor deserves an Oscar. 2. Most of the stories, no matter how silly, obnoxious, or even flat out 😑 moments; they are done wonderfully. 3. No other country is making stories for queer life like the Thai and I'm thankful for it. American culture is toxic sometimes. But these BL stories do depict life in a world outside of my own as well. Where you still have to worry about family, image, fear in general of society.

I just hope one day 'Coming out' is no longer a big revelation and it would become just a fact about oneself like "I like coffee". Anyone who came out struggled a lot until then and ones in the closet are still struggling. It's great that these actors are forthcoming about who they chose to be with as a life partner. It is even better to find out that they are in long lasting serious relationships, even one couple has gotten married!!!! True love and devotion is hard to find. When it's discovered, not all elements might be acceptable. Little differences should be allowed, don't close yourself off to the point of not living a happy life. My hope is that other actors who are involved in the BL Genre are actually open and accepting for themselves to be in a loving gay relationship and/or who are truly supportive towards others who are in a gay relationship. There is no need to continue employing and supporting actors in the BL Genre who have displayed and spoken out against the gay lifestyle regardless if they've "retracted their statements" or made public apologies. Thanks for the informative video.. While I'm glad that many BL actors are out and proud, I am grateful to all of the BL actors. Even if they're only acting, they do a great job of portraying the feelings and emotions of their gay characters. Wish there had been these kinds of series when I was learning about my sexuality in the 1970's. I went through the feelings but being the "only" gay person in school had to keep it to myself. Watching the current series, I can feel an emotional sense of release 50 years later - it's like my feelings/experiences have been validated. Thanks to all involved with the BL series.

@@wardensurana8336 fans sometimes are... ugh. i was in the 100 fandom for the entire run of the show and bellarke fans literally used to dm his IRL girlfriend mean and threatening things, telling her the actor was cheating on him or she didn't deserve him, etc... it didn't get any better when it turned out the actor was cheating on her with his female lead (which, their characters never ended up together). they continued to harass her by sending her photos of them together. it was horrible and i felt so bad for the ex-gf. fans can be the literal worst sometimes. they forget real life humans are behind those accounts. i hope anyon these actors date irl just deletes their social media the minute the world finds out.

Best we can tell, the couch and pillows are not in their homes, so likely at the channel 8 studios. I know it's not Tian's house because she posted a live bit from her house yesterday. The rumours were started by a single person from a new account to stir up trouble. Neither he nor Fluke have confirmed anything together or separate and they both deserve to be happy, whatever that means to them.

Many of the most wonderful actors from Thailand will no longer appear in anything related to LGBTQ due to so-called fans making nasty and mean comments to them about being gay and not admitting it. Think back to a favorite actor who you no longer see in any movie or series. You will be surprised at the number of actors who disappeared.

Someone can tell you they're "GAY", but that does mean that they are that GAY (only attracted to same sex, preferably men) you think of. If you want to know their real and specific gender, you ask them. The creator wrote GAY, because he/she can also not label these actors real gender identity. She/He even included a DISCLAIMER. What amazed me the most is that New Year had a boyfriend for "9 years"... like wow... That's a really, really long time. I was really put off watching TharnType because it seemed to really involve a lot of consent/boundary issues. While it appears that the Mew/Art drama may have been based in a misunderstanding or miscommunication about who was attracted to whom to what extent, the accusation just made the boundary violations in TharnType a little too "real"

BL's aren't exactly "proper representation" of LGBTQ experiences. Sure, there is representation. After all, the story is literally mlm romance. But to say that it is proper representation is pretty bleak so to speak. Often times, the romances in these series' aren't true to life and very much do not conform to realistic standards. Not to mention the ongoing problem of "I don't like other guys, only you, but I still like girls though" and other such plots that just spread a false narrative. BL is more catered towards satisfying the fans and gaining as much money. It's to the point that proper LGBTQ rep is just thrown under the bus. The actors don't even support LGBTQ rights on their platforms.

i really like that you added to respect gulf and mew's privacy. because i can't express enough and more emphatically that there needs to be a distance between thinking 'oh they're cute, they'd be great as a couple' and believing with your whole heart that it's already happening and are so far gone, you'll argue with the actors themselves over it.... I only say it because years back, I was in a tv show fandom where shippers were not only shipping the characters but the actors. shipping characters is fine, and like i said, thinking they'd be cute together in real life is fine, but there's a line. In that situation, it went WAY too far and fans of the IRL and fictional ship sent nasty and threatening messages to the male lead's IRL girlfriend.
