I have bowls of water on a ledge in all 22 enclosures. But I do mist as well. I have seen over half drink from the water bowl. It also helps with humidity. Altitude exotics only keeps water bowls and has never sprayed and done this for 6 years. I think every gecko is different.

I would just like to say, that I had my bioactive cage planted and ready to go for 2 months but was so nervous to get my gecko. I watched KZbin video after video and just got overwhelmed with conflicting information. However, there was something about your calm energy and confidence in the information you had to share that gave me the confidence to purchase my lil baby gecko. I've had him for a little bit over a month and yours are the videos I go to for answers. Thank you!

Absolutely agree with this list. Another thing I think is worth mentioning is that sometimes crested geckos forget that there is glass keeping them in, especially if the glass is very clean. I have seen my gecko launch himself at the terrarium door and bump his nose. To stop him from doing this I have draped trailing moss just inside the door to act as a visual barrier and this has worked very well.

When I first got my crested gecko as a rehome, she went crazy for crickets. But once she started eating Pangea and became more comfortable in my care, she never ate crickets anymore. I’ve also tried Dubias and mealworms. She shows slight interest, but never ends up pouncing or eating them.

I've added UV light for 12 hours a day, but in the past month he spends time up walking around his enclosure several times a day. Plenty of light comes in from outside as well as his UV light. Still has good weight, still hunts, still eats his cgd, just an odd sleep thing now. Really started a couple months after turning 2 in July.

My gecko drinks from his dish all the time, but I have this really cool water dish from this guy on Etsy that 3D prints all this amazing gecko stuff. The water dish is really shallow, and has short thick arms? that come out and have flat tops. When I put water in it, the water beads on top of the flat pieces and he licks off the dew drops. I spray the cage twice a day, but he drinks from this thing all day long. He also 3D prints bottle caps and those plastic cups thingies so you can use those and reduce waste, they're easy to clean too. He has magnet hides also, and everything comes in dozens of cool colors of your choice. Honestly his stuff has been a game changer for my baby. I'm not trying to advertise for him, but the variety at the pet store had me frustrated. I found him and others by searching "gecko accessories" on Etsy. I'm a new gecko baby owner so maybe this helps.

Great video. 🦎❤️ I discovered another stresser recently, by accident. I was observing my gargoyle gecko before misting the tank. She was pressed up against the glass, fired up and looking like she was hunting. I checked my baby crested, also fired up and staring back at the garg through it's enclosure. They were definitely expressing "Bring it on, dude," vibes. I decided to block off the crested's side from view. It's a year younger & I don't want it strung out. Do you think that's a good idea?

I noticed my gecko didn't move around as much even tho his cage is huge and full of live and fake plants. I have a plant light for all the plants, and I noticed he would always hide his face when the light was on, but not when it was off (he hides in a giant fake lily flower during the day, but he would bury his head in the petals and curl in a ball when the light was on, and when it was off he would stretch out like a cat). So...now I open all the windows in the living room and let his cage be lighted by natural light, I do turn on a 24watt basking light in the furtherest corner from where he's sleeping in, from noon to 3pm to mimic the heat of the sun. Now, he moves around all the time, exploring and hopping around in the early morning and late night. I really think the light was too bright from him.

Thank you my family are getting a crested gecko and ive found this very informative we do have a full set up hide spots the lot my dad is always the type to be wanting to look and get pictures so i think i will be warning him to no be so in the geckos face and to leave it to settle and have its privacy at the end of the day i see it as an animal in captivity and not a pet cause a pet is something you handle alot and get really close and soft with . Geckos aren’t at the top of the food chain so anxiety’s and stress will always play a major factor when caring for it . its not like a dog or a cat u can pick up without worrying about stress levels cause obviously a geckos main priority is to not be hunted by predators

So my baby is small, too small for most bugs. My local reptile store suggested I try soldier fly larva. I have a thing about maggots but I gave these a try cuz they're so small. He loves them! Now I feed the larva watermelon Pangea all day before I feed them to my gecko at night. I roll them around on a damp paper towel to get the Pangea off, then put one on a black plastic spoon so he can see it, and hold it up to his face while he's in his cage. You can tell when he locks in on it, then he just gobbles it up. Also, if you drop it in the cage and it turns into a fly it's harmless, they get the name cuz they memic wasps but they're tiny. My guy is really starting to grow and bulk up with 3 larva every other night. And he's way more active.

I recently purchased my first Crested. Some things I've noticed is that he's not really interested in the soup mix and more on eating the crickets. Any tips on how to get him to eat both or should I just continue feeding him what he likes? Also I was wondering about the tail. If achieving a peaceful environment is possible and they maintain their tails into being an adult, are they less likely to lose or drop it as it become an adult? I've had Rex for a little over a week and he seems to be adjusting since he is eating. I haven't really handled him expect to feed him and I am trying to train him to eat on his own. He's the coolest and most chill pet I've had so far. I don't think he is stressed at all so I am hopefull that I'm getting things right for him. Thank you for any feedback or advice. Cheers.
