2:22 Even with the bits in the LN that the anime left out tho, it still felt kinda wrong to me that only Lutz was made to sorry, while Deid at best says something along the lines of "I guess there was a lack of communication on my part too." It's at least nice to see him (and probably the rest of Lutz's family as well) more properly acknowledge and see how much he's changed and grown to become a proper merchant apprentice (along with, assumingly, slowly trying to get rid of the whole "all merchants are bad" mindset).

Small notice about the start festival.

 Am I the only one that noticed the world building with the taue fruits and their contention with Trombe in the commoners celebrations and their relation to our "real world" rituals?

 Taue fruits are "baby" Trombes and the commoners have a ritual to destroy them. It seems like, in our world, where some religious rituals are based on a "solution" to a old problem.

 So it seems that in the past in this world they knew that taue was actually trombe, so they created a celebration to guarantee that the commoners will destroy them. 

If this suspicion of my is correct, then the world building is even better than and deeper than expected.

I noticed that as well and a great observation! My memory is a little hazy so I don't want to accidentally spoil anything but this sort of coincidence I think is explained in the later light novels that I don't think have been translated yet. But much like all of the writing for Bookworm, Miya Kazuki really does flesh out the entire world to make it feel lived in and gives a believable reason for everything being the way it is. The world doesn't just react to Myne but rather the other way around, the world existed long before our lovable bookworm showed up and there's wonderful reasoning behind everything the world and characters do.

You are also stopping short. While it means you have commoners who could safely handle taue fruits destroying them. It would also provide a natural relief to any commoner with devouring minor enough to be syphoned yearly to continue to survive. However this is an inconvenient fact that likely isn't wanting to be highlighted (sometimes commoners have mana). So likely the ritual continued to be relayed but people stopped talking about that aspect of it. Myne is such an outlier in terms of mana capacity and surviving.

I was so lost about tau fruit becoming a trombe when watching the anime. I thought one of the kids accidentally gathered one with the fruit. But thankfully the novels cleared that up for me. I've had a good time keeping up with the anime then reading the corresponding books later. I'm hoping to get past season 3 stuff this year novel wise. I hope for a season 4. I'm definitely supporting season 3 when sentai filmworks releases it on blu ray.

I hope they don't entirely skim over some of the side story content, as I just love the imagery Ferdinand has of seeing Myne following him around the temple like she's a lost duckling during the winter, and I'm entirely certain that it's going to be chibi if they mention that detail.

As we've now seen 3 seasons and I personally just bought this book myself, I have a few thoughts based on both what we've seen in the anime and the light novel as for who I'm rooting for. For now, I'm mentioning my top 3 after watching this video: 1. Hugo (Ella as well) - Based completely on that picture of him going to throw that fruit at the newly weds, I fell in love with his character. The literal fire in his eyes and the way Ella's calling out for him as he storms away to let out his frustration just makes me smile. I want him to notice her so badly and bond with her instead of torturing the poor souls who found love and are just trying to make it back home. Just love each other you fools!!! 2. Tuuli - I love the confidence and praise she's getting not only from Myne's advice but also from the the inspiration of Myne. The fact that she's empowered to disperse from her friends to go off on her own so she can get inspiration for clothes for her sister to wear is so sweet and so like Tuuli. I just want her to do her best and succeed at everything she does.

Hugo and Ella's story are the side characters that I enjoy following the most. But I also like following Tuuli, and i think you described her pov perfectly. Thanks for another great video Magpi!

This was fantastic! I love how you covered the starbind ceremony so thoroughly. It was one of those lore building things i adore. The way the religion she's built into the world effects so many of their traditions just makes it feel so much more real than many other fantasy worlds. I love the side character view points and how she always has one at the prologue and at least 2 in the epilogues. It gives us so many viewpoints of things we couldn't see from Mynes since she doesn't know the world as well. I think my fav side characters are Benno and Rita in the early arcs.

Thank you so much for letting my Bookworm obsessed self help with the video even a tiny bit Magpie!! I hope these videos inspire people to read the source material if they stumble on the anime because it really is in it's own league! My favorite thing about the additional perspectives we get from Tuuli and Gil in this book is showing us the continued motivations the characters have. Tuuli isn't just following in Myne's wake but trying to forge her own path using her sick little sisters endless devotion to books and acquiring them as an inspiration for her own dreams and ambitions. The same can be said with Gil it shows that he isn't just devoted to Myne because he gets to eat but rather he is undoubtedly devoted to Myne for the treatment and amazing changes she brings. Originally Gil's motivations may seem shallow as the whole "work to eat" mentality he's given but being inside his head for a chapter shows how desperate he is to cling to his new way of life given to him by his savior Myne because of the horrible conditions he had to endure not only being an orphan but an outside orphan at that. Both of those two kids are just so endlessly devoted to helping Myne and it really is heartwarming to see these two try their hardest probably only coming second to Lutz being helplessly dragged around by Myne's antics lol!

I love your content and I really need more like it. I would really love if you delved into more lightnovel content and content that for sure isn't going to get adapted into anime for a long time. I'd love to see a video explaing the magic system/ the gods for each element or a video explaing the dutchies other than erenfest and how the ranking system for them works. Maybe the geography one for Ehrenfest can happen after they start traveling for spring prayer so people can see how far she traveled and where the exciting stuff happened.
