being unable to auto duel in the gates is actually a delibrate decision, and yes it is because of money. since if they allow you to auto duel in gates, then there would be no purpose for their high EXP vagrants that you can buy to quickly level up a character

The character level up rewards have been awful since 5D’s a bunch of cards that are useless or non anime/manga based cards. Duke Devlin has had some of the worst level up rewards. They couldn’t even give him Fairy Meteor Crusher! We got a Dice Armadillo card that is a level 5-6 monster with 1,600 attack.

Cards can never be tradeable in duel links with other players. Plenty of people already make new accounts to build a deck with the mass ammout of starting gems. They would start trading over to main accounts and duel links would go broke

Being able to trade cards with other players is a horrible idea because of how exploitable it could be. Basically you can create a sub account, use the starting gems to pull cards you want, trade them over to your main account, then delete and recreate the sub account, rinse and repeat. You're essentially creating an infinite gem source and are able to get a play set of nearly every Ur/Sr card for free. Whether we like it or not Konami is a company and they need to make money, so they can't add a function that's so easy exploited.

The thing that keeps me from playing Duel Links is the obvious pack weighting that happens. No matter what you do, if you are playing a deck and you need to pull one card, they will make sure you pull that on the last pack.

I don't think this is true. People just are more likely to remember the times they feel they got scammed over the times they got lucky. Off the top of my head I know I got Inzektor Cenipedes, Levianeers, thunder dragon hawks and quickdraw synchrons super fast when it was super obvious those were the decks I was tryhard pack farming at the time (I had crappy versions of those decks without those cards at the times and was playing them against the A.I)

I remember Vermillion Dragon Mech was the last card in the pack, was the only one I wanted ( I got Black Rose off a deal iirc) and I had no interest in resetting that box so it was super wasteful and I especially remember Dark World Snoww was the last UR EVERY SINGLE TIME I went through the box to get 3 ofs but I know I get lucky as well (got 3 Judgment Dragons pretty easily and I wanted them more than anything else allowing me to make early resets to save money) so I don't think it's weighted.

As a recovering Aromage player, I can confirm. Blue Eyes can be annoying, seeing them so often but at least it's a little faster than either you or your opponent (or sometimes both) are trying to resolve a long chain with mandatory trigger effects.

1. Higher stage levels still give 50 gems. I stopped playing because I had to open 180 pack sets to get cards I want. There are so few ways to get gems late game that it takes literally weeks to get 1 card. AANND it's powercrept.

The reason you can’t trade is to prevent a) a black market: people would just sell you whichever card you want (and trade it to you for any common you have lying around) and you wouldn’t need to spend money on the actual game and b) a CS:GO lotto type of scam where people literally use the cards as gambling chips. This holds true for every mobile gacha game or game with gacha mechanics (i.e loot boxes)

You forgot the fact that you can simply make another account , get your "beginner package" like SR/UR dream ticket , use you big amount of gems in box and trade them , repeat the process until you have everything you want. So it's to exploitable , they can't add that.

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure the game timer used to work how you said you wanted it to play out. I believe the reason it was changed is because people who knew they were going to lose a duel would sit on the timer and make their plays at the last possible second to attempt to annoy their opponents and force them to forfeit. Granted those people still exist but it’s nowhere near as bad as it used to be.

Money is obviously the reason we can't autoduel at the gate. Leveling up the characters gives gems lol. (It's super easy to set a macro to autoduel the gate though). Trading cards could totally be a thing if Konami put some heavy restrictions, like you need to reach stage 60 to unlock trades and can only trade cards from a set list of allowed cards that contains only cards considered "high value". Otherwise it would be too easy to abuse alt accounts and people would sell cards for real money. Thanks for reminding me of the Dark Magician ad btw haha

Raid Duels are my favorite events, and Turbo Duels are my favorite alternate format. I do wish we could do them whenever we wanted. Like, a special gate so you can rematch raid bosses and have a chance at getting the event-exclusive cards they had. They’ve done that with gate exclusive duelists so I don’t see how that couldn’t work. And Davinator’s idea of making Turbo and Tag duels etc. something you can choose to play in friend duels makes perfect sense.

With trading, a balancing aspect they could include to prevent players from abusing it too much is to require both traders to trade equal value cards, and on top of that, have both players effectively burn another card of equal value that nobody gets. You’re both going neg 1, but your expending extra resources for something you want.

The issue with trading is that then , every single player ( or at least the most) would just create A LOT of accounts for then spend the gems you got on 1st register and trade their best of it into a main account burning uselesses , however same rarities. One thing I want to say the reason why you probably can’t trade cards with another player is, people will start selling cards singly on other market places such as Ebay.Unfortunately whenever you add trading into a video game that sort of thing is impossible to avoid. Even if you had a set time before you could trade.

My main and really only issue is the coin flip at the beginning of the duel they need to give us the option to choose first or second if we win the toss. Another thing is picking and choosing essentially what cards are gonna be meta and what decks will just flat out suck. By the time most archetypes get some solid support they are essentially powercrept and unplayable its actually frustrating 😂

Something to note on resource caps, from someone with a background in game design: Resource caps in Duel Links serve 3 purposes. 1) Typically speaking, allowing any sort of resource to grow infinitely can open up to exploits with in game economy. This one isnt as important in a game without player to player trades, but is still important. 2. It deters scammers, hackers, and account buyers. If there was no cap, not only could people find ways to get infinite stuff, they can also say, get infinite stuff and make bank selling their account details to someone else, which can destroy fair competetion. 3. Money. You probably guessed it, but if someone just saves up all their resources, than when the next big update comes out, they can get everything from that update in a heartbeat without actually spending money. With a resource cap, they cant save enough and are thus forced to interact with events and updates, potentially spending money (and the resulting increased playtime and interaction looks good to investors). Hope this helped explain why some of that is there.

Farfa brought this up once but the lack of a dusting system for box cards bothers me. It annoyed the crap out of me that when grinding for Infernity Archfiends I somehow ended up with 5 Goyo Guardians before I got my second Archfiend. I also ended up with 6 Levianeers because I already had 3 from the Selection Box (which was stupidly lucky to be fair) and kept pulling them within the first 20 packs from the main set he got released in (the game really wanted me to play Lightsworn and Thunder Dragons I guess). So it would have been nice if I could have traded in 3 of those Levianeers so I could have gotten my 3rd Scepter. Obviously the reason they do it is to bleed more money out of us because the board of directors will get overthrown I guess if they're not shown to be milking everything out of us they possibly can but oh boy is it frustrating to have 11 copies of fissure.

For number 4, the reason why i think you can't do that is because as long as you have keys, you can keep on autodueling forever and level up your characters super fast, which means you get more in-game gems and konami gets less money.

Oh duel links, i love it but there’s so much to hate as well. Much of what you said is my criticisms, but I’d also argue a few more things especially related to certain characters, and anime pandering. 1. It sucks that you just don’t get good cards from level up/events any more. It used to be that fighting aster gave you destiny hero cards. Now if you want galaxy cards, literally all but 1 are in a box :/ 2. It kills me that some decks are just at a disadvantage off the bat, because an anime character didn’t play them. What skill could possibly be as broken for madolche or shiranui or something as the literal fan service skills like ultimate dragons or the shooting star skill. And that’s not even mentioning how many decks have existed solely because destiny draw is a broken skill. 3. Along the same lines, the way they associate cards with certain characters blows my mind. Tori and bronk have all these cards from video games or just referencing being a waitress, tea just takes all of yugi’s magician and magician girl cards, etc. This is also gets frustrating when they just kind of randomly assign cards to a character as level up rewards because it sort of fits their theme? Like giving tea witchcrafter, mokuba thunder dragon (even though Tristan played the original so he’d be a better choice), Blair the entire twilightsworn archetype, and the tragedy that is constellar and tellarknighs being divided between like 3 small girls 4. It’s in a weird state. Many people act like it’s slow and old, like goat format or something. But the problem is, just because it uses battle traps and is more battle focused than normal yugioh, doesn’t mean it’s slow. It’s incredible that we’re expected to care about GX and DM archetypes, while karma cut and lighting vortex are in the game. You cannot go on ladder with magnet warrior or something and expect to have a chance against harpies or blue-eyes.

Not being able to trade cards means that if you get a single copy of a card by levelup, it kinda balances itself by being at one. Where as if cards were tradable that would go out the window and more cards would need to be put on the banlist.

The reason you can't trade cards with other people is due to the influx of gems you get when you first start the game. If you could trade with others, you could just create alternate accounts and cheese the shop system by transferring the cards you get with your new account gems, reset, and get everything you need without needing to conduct a single transaction. Many players suggest a time buffer, like needing to wait a certain amount of time to unlock trading, or maybe you need to make KoG to be able to trade, but it's still a powerful and abusable system without it.

One thing I hate about Duel Links is that users can't control card placement. Monsters are summoned at the center of the board then to right. Your third monster is placed on the left. The same applies for spells and traps. My deck is stronger when I'm able to choose which spot I set my spell and traps. A lot of times it's advantageous for me to set a card on the left of the board instead of having to set 2 other cards on the right just to set a third card on the left. It sounds like a small issue but it assures me that the rest of the cards I need won't ever be added to the game because that would force them to change how the game is played.

7. I believe the main reason why they won't would be from those who will just farm new accounts. Hey a new box comes out. Boom you get 1000-2000 gems for signing up. Just throw them at the new box. Trade the URs done. Mind you they could do something to where new accounts can't trade for like a month. You could also have people sell the UR cards on like amazon. 'We'll give you this Book of Moon for $20'

Regarding #4, the reason Gate Duelists can’t be auto-dueled IS money. In the shop you can buy a Master Gate Key for $2, and it let’s you duel at the Gate without needing keys as many times as you want for 30 minutes. Since an auto duel in general goes faster than a regular duel, and also you can fast forward auto duels, it wouldn’t benefit Komomey to put the ability to auto-duel at the Gate. A few more “fun” facts about the Master Gate Key: - You can’t use it on Event characters. - The reward multiplier is ALWAYS set to *1

My only disagreement is the clock. Its fine to no need to wait for long for your opponent plays. I have sent a mail to konami asking for opening auto duels at the gate or at least an x5 potential. I think eventually they will hear us or they will force their game to die from extremely grinding.

I'm playing Duel Links from the day it launched and I can say grind is not that bad as people say. I've experienced it myself, I've played many other gacha games as well. As for Auto-duel feature, Auto-duel as a feature wasn't available in the game in the initial year. Just be thankful that became an option otherwise nobody even be complaining about it. You got to farm at the gate for a reason, otherwise just ask for a feature where you'll trade your keys to just gain XP and drop rewards. Why even bother to auto-duel at gate?

You're lucky...I've been pulling nothing BUT Rares and Commons. Actually had multiple times when they had 3 Kuribohs during the pull and....Rare. Took me 3 years just for a halfway decent Six Samurai deck and that's my BEST deck.

I love seeing blue-eyes players, it's like a free win every time, and I especially love them attesting to the invincibility of their deck in comment sections when you KNOW they're like Bronze3 and DC as soon as someone synchro's or XYZ's.

The gate auto-duel thing is probably due to duel orbs. You can buy duel orbs and shit with real money but if you could auto-duel the gate, you’d never have to use duel orbs again.

You are half right about Standard Duelist: They do serve for XP, but only through Gate Keys. There aren't enough Standard Duelists in one sitting to reliably level up. You pretty much only get reliable xp by spending the hoarded keys on lv10 LD farms while using EXP Boosters during a "1.5X Exp Event". Konami really hates casual players.

I would to card layout as in the anime, only a big image star and atk/def and when you click you see the texf, because now the text is always visible but impossible to read

after grinding like mad on this game, i agree. That timer is TOO short. You have people doing wacky combos and I’m trying to read the text so I now when to pop something or use my dd crow.

Trading will never happen in any gacha without severe restrictions because of exploitable it would be. As for why no AI gate duels it was mentioned that because they drop gems Konami doesn’t want people to easily grind/macro those. I agree with N/R dream tickets, there’s so many random meme cards in early/bad boxes that I’ll never go for but would definitely get them with tickets.

I wish they could add a ticket conversion system. When you get a lot of normal tickets in the event of duel puzzle, i just randomly choose normal cards because you grind them unintentionally dueling the a.i.s. Plus most if not all of them suck. I wish they could add a system where you can convert 5-10 normal tickets for 1 rare ticket and 5-10 rare tickets for 1 sr ticket and so on.

If u start first chanc is u will likely to lose since your opponent can attack and have 1 more card advantage. Not to mention they will summon the whole deck.

Time is an important resource, maybe as much as real money. And that's why you cannot auto-duel at the gates. Those infinite resources would convert into infinite grinding and they would level up all the characters super fast.

Blue Eyes is like a really odd love/hate relationship. You love it because more than likely it’s the deck that drew your attention to Duel Links. You played it and loved role playing as Kaiba. But you also hate it because it eventually got boring to play right when it got more support. So much so that it eventually became a top tier meta deck that started to plague the rank ladder. In my opinion, it’s not difficult to beat. It’s just an annoying, necessary evil, to promote Duel Links.

8:30 Actually it is money. If we were able to auto duel at the gate, EXP becomes infinitely more easy to get, and farming will be a lot faster. And with EXP, you can level up your characters and get tons of gems a lot faster than before and hence, an hypothetical loss of money 💰 ! That's the true reason why there's no AutoDuel at the gate atm

I would really like other formats to play. For example you open 10 Packs and than you build a decks with only this cards and than you battle vs. your opponent but after the battle you dont keep any cards they got all destroyed and the Boxes from where you get the Packs change every day randomly. You can make also that you keep this cards until the end of the day and you open the packs only one per day.

@@runningoncylinders3829 what you mean? Should I use event tickets for unavailable event cards and just use Ranked URs to get the Anguish Pattern? That would take me 3 months to complete the deck! IK that Dream tickets are to be used for box cards, planning of getting Floodgate and maybe an extra Swallow's Nest.

@@nunyabiznes33 I use all non Dream Tickets as soon as they appear, so I don't really distinguish them or know their pools. If you know your tickets better than I do, then you know the game plan.
