Brother, you are preaching truth this morning. I'm a recent retired fed 36 years. I utilized the commuter bus as opposed to the train, but yeah I was usually on the first one out of my development at the crack of dawn. The last three years of my career, I lost my health and my mother in rapid succession. As I grieved and regained my strength, I took stock my life and put in my papers. Haven't regretted that decision one second for all the reasons you listed. I'm on a much better footing health wise and have drawn inspiration in observing your journey. Thank you for sharing your insights; much appreciated. If our paths cross one day, it would be a pleasure to sit and chat. Continued blessings to you.

@@nonrevisionist1324 Thirty-six years! The train I commuted on (The VRE) was a very modern conveyance and a nice ride It had a “quiet” section which I really appreciated. The train took me about a block from where I worked in Wash DC. Like you, I never regretted retiring from the fed. I left quietly. No fanfare. No party (even though my co-workers wanted to throw one). I remember the day I walked out the front door.. I said a few goodbyes and I was gone. 😊 I later learned that many were not aware I had retired. Thank you for your support of the channel.

Great video, as a IT cybersecurity professional that lives not that far from DC, I've done everything I can not to actually work around DC. It's not worth the extra stress and time away from family even for the money. I've been successful for that so far and it's great. But I still look very forward to retirement so I can be free to control my own time and location. Your health is always worth it.

@@garymcgowan4057 I commuted every day via The VRE from Fredericksburg. If I had to work on the weekend, I had to drive. You know how I-95 is. Even on those days when we had snow and the roads are iced up, I had to find a way to get to work. (Essential personnel). If planned out carefully, retirement is a wonderful thing. Thanks for watching. 🙏
