Marie, mother of Christ, as strong as the Sierra mountains. I like your name. You have the voice of a loving mother and kindness can be seen in your eyes. Thank you for your kind words and I am happy that my fellow Romanians could help you out when you nedded it.

There are a lot more than 9 world heritage sites as some are grouped in categories. So there are 8 wooden churches in Maramures, 8 monasteries/churches in Moldova, 7 fortified churches in Transylvania, 6 Dacian fortresses, the Danube Delta, Horezu Monastary, Rosia Montana, the fortified center of Sighisoara and a bunch of virgin forests in different locations. So that's 45 locations in total. And there are more than 15 candidates too, so things proposed to be added in the future and at least a few of them will likely be added.

Hey, Sierra! I told you a few minutes back that I was planning a move to Romania and it's creeping up on me. The end of next month actually. Seems like I have all of my ducks in a row but I'm curious, did you guys hold on to your US phone numbers while over there? When I would spend just a few weeks over there in the past, I just paid $10 a day for Verizon Travel Pass. However, I would come back with like $300 in extra phone bills every trip. That's like almost $5,000 in extra fees over the years. Anyway, I've been looking through all kinds of options but looking for suggestions and thought about you. Just curious what you guys did. Seems from your videos that everything is going well back here in the States! 🙂

Hey Dave! We did end up getting a Romanian phone plan with Vodafone because we stayed for one year- I’m curious if there is a way that you can keep your American phone plan…. Because canceling a Romanian phone plan is a pain in the butt! Customer service is only in Romanian so if you have someone that can help you, or you can speak fluently, you may not have trouble, but we really struggled to get ours canceled 😟 The phone plans over there are really affordable! If you are staying for a substantial amount of time, it may be worth just getting a Romanian phone plan and canceling your American one for the time being. I think it just depends on your situation! That is so super exciting that you are moving soon! I am thrilled for you!!! Are you going to be there for one year?

@@sierramarie Actually, I'm planning on staying there permanently. I'm going to stay in Istanbul for the first 3 months, then Bosnia for 3 months before settling in Romania. I wanted to give the cold weather a little time to pass. Not only that but it's been a little bit since I've been to Turkey and Bosnia and I absolutely love them both. I've done tons of research on how to keep my number, eSims, physical SIM cards, Google Fi actually getting some sort of phone plan when I finally get to Romania but all of them just sound a bit difficult and sketchy. I just want something easy (as always). Haha! I've always gone over there for 3-4 weeks at a time and I just purchase an international plan from my carrier and everything is perfectly fine. Costs a little more obviously but it's worth it to use my phone as I normally do. Obviously being there permanently, that's not going to work. I don't know, hopefully I figure something out. I've had my number for years and years and that's the only way people know how to get a hold of me other than social media. I don't want to lose contact with my people back here in the States. 😒 Also, thank you for the well wishes and responses. You've been a great help so far! 🙂

@davewilliamson4357 That will be so incredible! I’ve heard amazing things about Bosnia. We loved our short 24 hours in Turkey- their airport is INCREDIBLE 🤩 I can definitely see your dilemma… personally if I was planning on staying permanently I would go ahead and get a phone plan there- it’s simpler and very affordable! The people in stores speak English well, and are really kind and helpful! Just FYI- if you use your Romania plan to call and they are not on WiFi your friends and family may be charged. We found that out the hard way a few times… My mom got a $300 charge for a 1 hour call 😱 To avoid this we used WhatsApp’s to chat and video people in America and never had issues with charges on either side (because it uses WiFi) I am thankful I’ve been of some help! Don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any more questions! ☺️
