Buying plastic bags at grocery store is common all over Europe. The story of Dracula was written by a Irish writer.

Americans when they think of Europe usually think of Western Europe, The east is its own thing, in some ways closer to the Americans, in that we are a bit wilder, more frontier-type people or the descendence of them, so the culture reflects that long time spent in small communities, an expectation of self-reliance and slight anarchistic tendencies. Partly why capitalism worked so well

If you are spending $880 a month on food in Romania, you are eating out often and going to the supermarkets instead of grocery stores and farmer's markets and you are probably buying mostly American and imported products.

Thanks for sharing. Best combo is to have U.S. level income, but live in Romania 😉. Beautiful country and people. My wife is Romanian and I look forward to spending at least part of the year there soon, but I'm blessed to have a very nice U.S. pension + 401K income. I hope you are enjoying a healthier and better overall quality of life there. ❤️

Hehe, we will brake eye contact, but we will avoid making it look as if we were doing something forbidden, so we will wait for about 1 or 2 seconds to pass, and then move our eyes. This allows for an eventual eye communication in case it happens... perhaps a smile or acknowledgement. But there are people in Europe as well that get spooked and look away :).

Decaf would have been the answer :) It helped me after the last covid gave me a couple of months of tachicardia (accelerated heartbeat over 100bpm constantly) So for 3 months i was not allowed to have any cafeine, and work was terrible with sleepiness :D But now i am back on 2 coffes per day, but i sometimes mix 50/50 normal coffee and decaf, just to thin out the cafeine.
@sierramarie
@sierramarie Ай бұрын
Oh wow that is crazy!!! I’m glad you got better and didn’t have to give it up completely 😁 Decaf has worked great for me too recently!! The funny thing is with caffeine drinks- usually I’m drinking because I like the drink flavor, not really for the caffeine benefits. I need to find some drinks that taste the same, without the caffeine and I would be happy!

do you need to apply for a visa before moving to romania?
@sierramarie

I would recommend it! You get a 90 day tourist period before you have to leave the country and in our experience the visa process took almost the whole time!

Would be more helpful if you make the costs per 1 person with 1 income and not cost for 2 persons and in the end saying in America was 2 salarys but in romania is now only with 1 salary, is little bit confusing to understand and for to make a clear picture...
@sierramarie

Sorry for the confusion- both places were based on 1 salary ☺️ I removed my salary for America since I didn’t have one in Romania!

Hey Sierra! Found your channel as an expat living in Romania since 2017 being married to a Romanian man. We could only speak English since we're both fluent and none of us speak the mother tongue of the other. I'm in Bucharest and just wondering if you'd like to meet over some drinks?

I dont have a lot of knowledge on job hunting, since we moved to Romania from our American company. I would say I feel like most Romanian companies are good with English speakers though ☺️ Definitely have your boyfriend help you read over to translate any paperwork in Romania. The #1 thing when moving is there is 90 days to get a job and visa before you have to leave the country, so time is of the essence! What is your citizenship?
