My locs work well with minimal product, (oil and rose water) but using water only would cause a catastrophe. I don’t understand how people can’t understand the simple premise of different hair types. What works for some won’t work for others. As soon as I see people getting preachy and playing gatekeeper of locs, I exit the video. I don’t have time for the foolishness

Great video yes you have to do what’s best for you! When I started my natural hair journey people swore by coconut oil I tried it and it dried my hair out and my hair was itchy. I kept my natural hair journey simple I used olive oil and blue magic!! I’m six months in my loc journey I use oil and i wash it with clarifying shampoo for locs. Yes water dries my hair out. I get my locs re twisted every four weeks. Lauryn Hill is my loc crush when she has locs 😍

Locs are not low maintenance. The longer my hair gets the longer it takes to wash and dry. The lint. Doing styles. I'm 4 years 8 months into this journey.

Thank You, thank you ! I really appreciate your video! I am passing through my 1 year jand 5 months journey. I am loving my locs. Yes, I finally learned not to wash daily, or wet my locs daily. Also, I wore sea shell accessories attached to my locs for nearly a year and noticed they weakened my ends , and I learned from KZbin how to repair so not to snip the weak hair instead retain my length. I have also reduced the amount of products I use a little. My hair doesn’t like conditioners, I learned it limps my hair. Finally when I decided to repair my weak Loc, I became curious what it would look like if I attach extensions to the shorter ones! OMG! I love the fullness it brought but now I wonder if my ends will get damaged as my hair grows?

How long have you been loc'd? What kind of conditioner do you use? I use glycerin, water, and oils. Nothing creamy, but maybe in moderation? I'm looking for more moisture too.

Mrs. Vixen Sanders I use carol’s daughter black vanilla leave in spray and for deep conditioner I use eden body works jojoba monoi I been loc’d for 1 year 6 months make sure you rinse very well if you are going to deep condition
