lol for the second fact I meant to say that many restaurants will ONLY except cash, not that they won't. Don't know how I missed that in the editing😅

The thing about children just walking around on their own is a great aspect of Japan and is a great example to the safety of the country. Kids should be free to walk around almost anywhere. I wish we had that freedom as Americans. :')

worth noting about taxes: A lot of shops actually write the price pre-tax in huge numbers and the post-tax in smaller numbers underneath. So it's worth double checking

@@AthanWright here's one more trick i recently learned. Always check if the rapid train stops at your station or not. For example if you stay in Nishikasai or Kasai and you follow google maps, make sure not to board the rapid tozai line as it skips those 2 stations. (Rapid and local trains stop at the same platform so it's easy to mistake one for the other) Learned it the hard way (good thing is you won't have to leave the station to go back so you lose no money lol)

As for cost of living, depending on where you live census data from Japanese National Government recorded average yearly cost of living in Japan is around 2,700,000 - 3,000,000 yen. It sounds like a lot of money but converted to USD, that's only around $20,000 a year.

Been going through the whole Japan arc bit by bit and it's been really interesting seeing your experience. It's very unique and the way you show yourself feels very raw and relatable. I like how you just show everything from your own failures to Ws and your life around school. Just wanted to add that refunding stuff is possible in certain places! It's just a pain and takes a while. Here's what happened to me: I was in Numazu and they have an Animate and Gamers! there. I bought a Love Live! art book at the Animate first, but then I found out the one in Gamers! had a bonus that the Animate one didn't have. So I walked back to the animate to refund it. I explained the situation saying that the other store had a bonus and this one didn't so I wanted to buy it in the store and refund this one. He grabbed a flowchart and asked me how I paid and printed like a dozen receipts and got the refund through. I thanked him and then bought the book in the other store. This was the only time I had to refund and had to be in Numazu of all places, but just wanted to add that it does work in certain places even though they rarely deal with it. Now gonna go through the rest of the videos...
