A bit late to the party, but as nowadays it's my favorite game, here are few notes: 1) Free recruits (or any recruits for that matter) are meaningless if you purchased a tavern DLC. You always have more than enough crowns to buy anything you want. As for influence, you gain it through any fight and\or contract and there are plenty of wondering bandits, as well as limitless contracts. 2) Companions. Other than a must have ponies, I loved my wolves when I've had them. Despite all that, in my opinion, only Bears are more viable due to their high constitution. The only thing you have to watch out is stacks of poison which can kill even them in a few turns. Also if you're using animal companions (which go next to last in the round), It's good to have at least one archer as a beastmaster for control. 3)Repairing armor on the go is a must, as usually you're far from towns. You won't be rushing back after most of the fights. Same goes for medicine. Have a good stack of Raw Materials and Medicine. I'd also add few more advices: 1) Manage your ponies for carrying capacity only. They aren't battle steeds. 2) Knowledge points are also limitless, once you unlock\upgrade lancern and assign a scholar. 3) Cooking food is better than eating the ingredients for these meals. Additionally to the lesser weight, they give very essential bonuses. Once you get unlimited money, buy all the scrolls you can get your hands on. Cook is a great profession. 4) Remember to have different professions in your party. You never know when you might need them.

My No. 1 tip is that you can use influence to upgrade your stats, didn't notice until had been playing for a long time.

@chrisopherwebber3804 For sure! I think it's career paths that allows you to spend the influence to upgrade stats. Super useful, it's the only way to get the most out of your characters.

@wexfordrob all it does is allow you to use influence to choose which stat to put 2 stars into. Instead of the random ones it chooses. When you level up the stats try clicking on a different stat that doesn't have anything and add stars to it.

Note that yellow upgradeable weapons usually drop from special weekly missions you get. They can be identified by a yellow border around the portrait when you accept them. Legendary, Purple weapons are won at the Arena, from the hard boss every region has and by having a scholar work on purple fragments found in crypts .

I just finished my first playthrough at 185 hours. Fantastic game. Looking forward to the upcoming patches and DLC. Just finding your WT content. Thanks for making clear to follow videos. I discovered most of what you put here through my playthrough, but the fun of this game is doing the exact opposite of what you did the first time to spice things up (different outcomes for different counties etc.). 7:40 - if you are going to showcase stealing items that will get you sought after by the guard, I think it would be good to also show the results of that and how to get rid of the suspicion levels.

@@OttoResolve Kind of same thing applies to animal companions, you dont mention food costs at all which are a huge thing to balance when first starting.

Yes, stealing is what loses me the game, too much stealing and the guard is onto you, I beat them a few times, my suspicion level goes up even more, and I'm doing nothing but fighting the guard until I die... actually, it takes very little stealing to have the guard chasing you. The game also keeps track of EVERTHING you steal, even ingredients and what you made from them, and that never goes away, so even if you don't have any stolen items on you, you have to pay for all the items you stole in the past when the guard catches up with you. I've only just found out that the camp chest is a partial solution to this problem.

@@christopherwebber3804 From my Xp with the game, stealing is more of a crutch in the very early game. Good in order to get some consumables and recipes at the start (always try to stay under 100 suspicion). But once you get your troop a bit in order and you are able to make some proper money from contracts & trading, it's basically useless.

As a result, it was a nightmare adventuring in earlier time in second region that the guards kept chasing me to the point I needed to walk thru forest. But It was fun😂

Good, good, glad it helped you get started. I believe you are correct, first aid is the only way to heal during battle. However, the wolves have skills (lick wounds & carnivore diet) that allow them to heal. I feel like there was another way for animals to heal somehow but for the life of me I can't figure out what it was. If I stumble across anything else I will give you an update Steve.

That's really odd. Have you tried visiting the informant at the Tavern? They will usually direct you to the next quest. Also, what region are you having the issue in?

How do I turn on the companion window in the top left corner?

I believe hovering over the icon of your party in the top left corner with the mouse will bring all of the party's bonuses and traits. And then left clicking on the icon should bring up the full party tab. I hope this was helpful.

Up until now, I've been playing as a morally good party. But I just researched stocks lv2, and now I can have slaves do professions while they only need 3 food and no wage, with no chance of escaping. I would say that taking an immoral approach makes the game easier. But my slaves are all criminals, so it's kind of a Grey area.

@Mythos It is possible to play ethically. But I think Jasomon is right, seems the unethical approach makes the game a bit easier. Playing as a scumbag to get ahead seems to be a trend in rpg's these days. I'd say BG3 suffers from the same issue. In any case, thanks for the comment. Sorry for the delayed reply.

none of the game mechanics make any sense at all, apart from the combat, everything about the games design is pure garbage. I enjoyed the combat, and the game assets weren't bad looking, but from a logical and mechanical perspective this game was a massive disappointment.

Wait what ?! The traveling post with the chest ??? I've never seen it for the moment 🧐 Im in the area "arthes ?" With a fight between 2 lords, but it doesnt look like I have this travel post in town... It could be very usefull to store some components ! 🥵 An other question with the ennemi number scalling. I have a troop of 9 (8 soldier, 1 horse) do we agree that the horse doesnt count like a member during fight ? So I can only meet group of ennemi between 8-10 people max right ? Thanks !

@Siteks The travelling post will become available once reach level 4 in the Trade and Craftmanship Paths. Most of the major towns will have a travelling post that can be rebuilt for a fee. They are super useful for storing items and components and also fast travel if that's your thing. I'm not sure about the scaling. I believe it depends a lot on whether you're playing Region locked mode or Adaptive mode. On region locked mode you will face enemies whose strength and number are mostly based on what region you're in. Some regions are much more dangerous than others. With adaptive mode the enemies you face will be closely matched to your party. I don't often play adaptive mode so I can't say exactly how it works. I hope this helps.

I don't understand, how do you recruit refugees to your team? Do you fight them, then capture them, or what? I know there are a few free companions on the map, payable with medicine or a plague cure, is that what you mean?

Sorry, I wasn't all that clear on this point. I think what I meant with the refugees was that you can capture them and sell them for profit at the Tiltren sawmill. In regards to the capturing new companions I was referring more to the animal companions. Although, I believe there is a way also to recruit prisoners to your party. I think there is a manage companion button for prisoners when you're encamped. It should give you the option to release them, kill them or recruit them if I remember correctly. You might need to gain there trust somehow. I've been told that you can even recruit the creepers from the crypts to your party but I have yet to do this myself.

Buy a chain from npc in prison(or is it craftable?) In battle, engage them in fight(sword icon) and move another unit close then a new skill would pop The succes rate however mainly based on how less their HP when capture skill casted. We can capture Animals(3x Ropes) and Fighter/Civillian(1x Chain)

only animals that are worth while are the alpha wolves and bears...a single pig for people with raised by boars if you have any.

I'll have to give the Alpha's another chance. At first glance they seemed comparable to the regular wolves with double the food cost. The raised by boars trait is hilarious. Bears are definitely king of the animals. I think the polar bears in Drombach province are the best of the best.

@@OttoResolve agreed on the bears, but the alpha wolves have been hitting markedly harder with about 1/4th more HP then same level normal wolves, which solves their main issue which is being fragile AF. three of them in a group are hitting harder than my DPS builds, but the food cost is a real negative.

The point out of companions liking eachother feels pointless. You should've pointed out how to increase friendships or what causes dislikes. Other than saying "well that exists... happy I told you?" LOL still helpful info otherwise lol

I read that the only way to increase friendship between companions is to have them sit next to eachother at camp and to have them fight together in combat. Is there another way cause my party all dislike eachother lol

It is an option. Adaptive Difficulty scales everything with you. Region Locked gives each region a zone, which you can out-level.
