A tip for those who want to use acrylic paint and and dealing with cracking: don't use water to thin your acrylic paints. Use an acrylic thinning medium instead. Water weakens the molecular bonds between the polymers, but thinning medium is also made of polymers. A tip I wish I'd known when I first started using acrylic paints myself.

I don't thin the paint so that the back of the glass doesn't show, but when I do this, brush marks appear instead of looking smooth. Can't I fix it without thinning the paint? Guess I can't buy a thinning medium.

I recently took up glass painting. I've painted a few phonecases, given them to my friends as presents and I'm doing an art account where I post my work and man I cannot emphasis on the point where he mentioned where this aint easy. CUZ. IT. ISN'T. Colour matching takes SUCH A LONG TIME. Came here to figure out why my paint tends to crack but now that I realised it may have been too thin, I'm ready to make changes. Thank you so much for this realistic video. I really appreciate it :)

6:58 this one is sooo true 😭 i watched everyone do it and they make it look so easy, so i was like: this wont be hard. Yesterday i started tracing Howl and my oh my it took me hours fr. The lines got crooked or not opaque enough, and the toothpick and water+tissue became my best friends. (I am a perfectionist) I kinda broke my back during this proccess but whatever, as long as the results turn out well. Today i started painting with acrylics. I did blend the right shade pretty quickly, but i didnt make enough and even though i thought i put a thick enough layer its still not opaque enough in some places. I have finished about 20% of painting in HOURS. It might not turn out perfect, but I guess the flaws wont be seen from a distance:') Nobody told me it was gonna be that hard😭 Guys, dont expect this to take 10 minutes 😭😭 (Btw it was fun and relaxing thooo)

That’s actually not a bad idea for a video. But I’ll tell you now the enamel paints have many colors. I hardly have to mix to get colors. But when I do I usually buy the thinners. I’m having an issue with the paint kind of smudging. Similar to outline smudging when painting. For example I’ll do shading of the hair first or a highlight and once it’s dried, sometimes I’ll let it dry for two days, I’ll gently go over it and it’ll smudge. I’ve used acrylic that isn’t runny and I’ve done one successful painting with the same paint but for some reason I can’t do it anymore 😭 How do I keep the paint from smudging?

Dude u are a very nice painter after all the videos I have seen so far as I know how hard anime glass painting is..But the 6 th point is too expensive and not for beginners like me or even a midle class person. I have checked it on Amazon and it's so fucking expensive..so I buy the normal ones and zoom out my painting reference and make it exactly the size after the the frame is on...This was just point that I felt was wrong but u really are nice at anime glass painting which is not only for anime character and for comic characters too😁

I also paint on glass and I have difficulty because when I start to paint, the outline always stains. I live in Brazil, and it's hard to find a sharpie so I have to go online. Do I have to buy an oil-based sharpie or identl pen or could it be any of those brands?

I have a doubt, so I use the identy pen but my lines aren't completely opaque, they are see-through, so what would you recommend, thank you
@DrawninjaKC
@DrawninjaKC 3 жыл бұрын
That’s an easy fix. First of all you’re pressing too hard on the pen when you’re drawing. Lighten the pressure. Secondly you can double tap. Meaning retrace the lines again after you’ve put them down to make it more opaque. Again lighten the pressure there also.

FYI... I know it's commonly used the way you used it but a steep learning curve would mean something is very easy to learn. A learning curve is a graph of learning (on the y-axis) over time (on the x-axis). So if you can do a lot of learning in a short time, it creates a steep curve. A shallow or long curve would represent slow learning over a long time - i.e. something that is difficult to learn.
@DrawninjaKC
@DrawninjaKC Жыл бұрын
The concept of a “steep learning curve” is more of a metaphor that most likely represents a common perception that going up a steep hill is slower than going up a long, shallow incline.
@TheRealScience86

@@DrawninjaKC I know that what you, and most other people think it is - but it isn't. It's actually a thing with a mathamatical definition that is used to study learning. It's fine that you use it this way. Most people don't understand this highly technical term and use it incorrectly - so most people will also understand that you mean to communicate that it's difficult to learn. But, in fact, that is not what it means.

Hi! What fixatives do you suggest to keep the paintings from falling off or getting scratched? With research it looks like epoxy resin on enamel would be great. But maybe you or anyone with experience as well might know about something else?
@DrawninjaKC

Resin is good form if you use glitter. But I usually don’t use a fixative for the back of the class art. I do however place Bristol board on the back of art when I put it back in the frame. That always makes me feel better about protecting it.

If I had to make a choice I would chose the oil based Sharpie. It’s more opaque. The pro about the identipen is that it has a ultra fine nib and a big nib on one pen. Whereas you would have to buy two different pens to get it on the oil based sharpie.
