People forget (or weren't born yet) when the Mavs were an absolute joke franchise. As soon as Mark took over, they went on a +10 year playoff run including two Finals and a championship. And while they've had their ups and downs recently, they're always trying to strike the big deals to make their team contenders (like trading for Luka, Porzingis, or Kyrie). It really shows what a difference a change of ownership makes. The Warriors are another great example who were a joke in the 90's and 2000's but became a dynasty after a change of ownership.
