I don’t think women truly understand the physical touch desire that men have. I’m not talking about sex. I’m talking about the woman initiating a hug, sitting next you on the couch and touching you on the leg. Rubbing the back of your neck or head. Just simply being present, and showing how much you care by showing that affection through physical touch. If you do that consistently a man will take on the world for you!

The "things" you listed are better than any Christmas gift, ever. And they cost nothing.

This!! This morning I woke super early as I always do but just laid there for a while and my wife just grabbed ahold of my arm and running her fingers through my hair. That was amazing for me. She does do stuff like enough. Guys are expect to be tough and emotionless most of the time because we just bury it deep but something as simple as a touch from your significant other means the world to us.

No socks, no underwear, no scarves, no Christmas jumpers, no silly hats but above all, peace & quiet. For one day, no whining, no complaining, no scowling, no moaning, no bitching, no snide comments, no sarcasm, no arguing, just peace and quiet. Is that too much to ask for, just one day.

As a husband of 3+ decades, a father of six, and a grandfather of six (so far) I mostly agree with your list, especially the spending it with my wife, children, and grandchildren. A good bottle of whiskey and good cigars would be nice, but that's about it. About the hoodies...they always look better on her anyway so that's a win too.

How do you do the grandparents and kids seeing their cousins think without the visiting thing? That's why IMHO the visiting thing is not actually correct especially if you have kids. So me the kid that does not want to see their grandparents and cousins over the Christians holidays and then show me the good father that does not want tot make his kids happy. As a kid I would have been so disappointed not to see my grandparents and cousins over Christmas and unless you all live in the same town/city that's going to mean some visiting.

People tell you what they want if you listen. Example: my next-younger sister, went over to her house for a birthday party and brought homemade pie as I do, she asked me specifically about using my KitchenAid mixer for them, how well does it work, do I use it a lot...fast forward to a month later, she visits my house, we're in the kitchen, she comments again about the mixer... So I jump in the group chat with the OTHER siblings and say "She's asked twice now about my mixer, so, what color mixer should I get her for Christmas?" Now, I see that as a hint only because I've known my sister 30 years, her entire life, I held her 10 minutes after birth. But a stranger, naw, I'd have never gotten that hint in a lifetime. it's like the new girl you're talking to, if she brings up anything more than once, that's their version of screaming what they want in your face. "My friends did this last week....my other friends did that same thing the other day....my sister went to that place also yesterday"...Do YOU want to go do that same thing you've been telling me everyone else is doing? YES, I thought you'd never ask, I love your idea of us going!"

It’s not a gift you wrap. But I personally really appreciate the wife doing Christmas decorations and making the house sort of festive and a bit of a reminder of when I was a kid. It puts me in a good mood and sets the tone for the holidays.

The best gifts for men usually involve time and practicality. Growing up, my dad’s Christmas gift every year was something he would pick out for the family. One year it was a stereo, several others it was a post-Christmas family trip. One year, his father in law was planning on reroofing the house the following spring. Against the advice of mom, dad got him a massive box of roofing nails, which he loved! On the don’t buy side: tools, hobby supplies, or anything else where he knows way more about the subject than you. We know exactly what we want/need next, the brand, model, and specific modifications. Unless he gives you the exact thing to get at Home Depot, it’s best to not try to read his mind.

I AGREE 1000%!! Lets not forget how visual most men are! I gifted my husband a jar full of 'cuopons" with all the specific things/ acts that he verbally specified enjoying the most ! Even ones i did not care for, because sometimes love IS about sacrifice. One if his other fav gifts from me was from out first valentines day. I tried to just throw this in randomly on no special occasion days. Let me say first i am very poor body image so i prefer to be fully dressed at all times lol i bought a little french maid outcits with black fishnet stockings and all. I bought rose petals and left a trail from the front door to the bedroom and threw a bunch across the top of rhe bed then i put hersheys kisses on the floor making a trail to the bathroom door where i was supposedly kissing the ground he walks up/ showering him with kisses i light candles in a masculine scent all over the bathroom i ran him a hot bath put on my maid outfit and touched up my make up made sure my hair was down they way he loved it and i met him at the door and had him sit in the living room where i remived his over the knee logging boot ( though laces never stop!!) I handed him a rare stiff drink told him the kids are gone til tomorrow and I'm giving you your bath n washing your hair. Afterwards i will give you a nice massage and the rest of the evening is yours to be enjoyed. He loved every second of it! We would eventually order take out n he didn't mind for one night that i didn't cook. . Sometimes i guess he would get lonely in that bathtub while he was being bathed because several times over the years he would reach out n before i would know it i would be in the tub with him!!!😂❤️😂 he was in an accident 3 yrs ago while at work which took his life we were married almost 10 yrs and what i wouldnt do to hear his laugh again.. but these are the type if thihgs they love! If you use the coupon jar you get to decide when the jat can be used because ut gas to be a time n place with no kids, no rush ,no headache lol loved this video

That's a helluva wall of text and FYI, cool that you agree 1000% as a woman...but as a man, this list has issues. Some items are fine, others are not so good, and a couple are just tone deaf. But you know, different strokes for different folks. Maybe some men agree with all this, they have pretty low expectations I suppose which doesn't say anything positive for their wife/family. If what you want most is a chair and to be left alone at Christmas--just how depressing is the rest of the year? Yep.

NO to tools or other "men's gifts" from Marshalls or TJ Max. YES to tools that I specify, I usually try to be cost-conscious and specific. NO to big complicated meals that result in grumpiness, tiredness and hard feelings and/or tears. I'd rather find a Chinese restaurant (Christmas Story) or even Denny's, just so there are no recriminations later. Generally for me Christmas is my least favorite holiday because of all the baggage attached to it, unmet expectations, and the like. This is odd because as a Christian I should think this is the best or second best after Easter.
@spamhere11237 ай бұрын
Don't feel too guilty about not liking Christmas much as a Christian. It's a fake holiday anyway. It is very unlikely Christ was born on December 25, and most of what we now celebrate as Christmas is actually a pagan holiday celebrated by Germanic peoples called Yule--the Catholic church just straight up stole it and changed the names. And boy howdy, is it a PAGAN holiday. Lots of weird wiccan/satanist/astrological stuff.

You and I think exactly alike. I was telling a friend today that this should be a time of joy and happiness, but instead, has turned into a time of stress and anxiety. 10- Mostly true. 9- Absolutely. 8- Depending on what he drinks. If he's a single malt scotch drinker this is a thing. You have to be careful with rum because the different bases (sugar cane as opposed to rum) can make a HUGE difference. Best to know which brand he likes and get the top of the line of that brand. A little discreet research well before had does wonders. Men that like spirits that have higher ends LOVE to talk about what they drink. 7- Depends. For the most part yes. If he's the outdoorsey type merino wool socks are top of the line hiking socks. 6- Simple things are important. 5- A nice smile a hug and a genuine thank you for providing is a good thing. 4- That's solid advice. 3- That's reasonable. 2- The cupon idea is always good. 1- 5 ties in with this.
@lngsrp46126 ай бұрын
Got to say about the traveling, you are correct. Taking it one step further, our present to each other is a trip to the beach between Christmas and New Years, with the idea that we can eat or drink whatever we want. Leave our (adult w/ special needs) son at home with a caregiver, and it great (especially for her) to not have to manage the day to day routine. We can chill, go out to the beach, watch bowl games, whatever we want. And I send links periodically to items that I would like in case her mother is stuck with what to get me, so it's win-win.

One other gift suggestion is personal shopper. I will occasionally tell my wife what kind of clothes item I want, like a north face pullover (not hoodie). She will then go shopping (which is a win win since she loves shopping) buy 4-5 different options, bring them home and I’ll check them out. If I like one I keep it and she returns the rest. It avoids shopping for me, which I generally hate…

Spot on, on wanting to not go anywhere. Every holiday, we pack up and go, and I hate it, my home is my space, I like it, I have made it what I like.

I would (very respectfully) argue every point with one single argument. Yes, there were points made, but there also were stuff that me personally don't like, and i know people who also wouldn't. So my argument is: What men want for christmas is THAT gift that would make them say "OMG! You know me so well!!" Because nothing feels more perfect than someone who actually listens to you, cares about you, and wants to see you happy. And if she goes out of her way to make you happy, after all that time... man, she's the one.

My husband is so hard to buy for... . Sweetie, that is because you don't want to give him what he really wants. It's always the right size, the right color, and will never be returned to the store. No receipt necessary! And the next time you need to get him a present, you can give him the same thing... AGAIN! And he will be just as happy... again. Guys really are easy to please, if you want to please us.

What I want least is Christmas being stressful. Since years, at Christmas my wife starts alreads days earlier with baking, cooking preparations and decoration. And while I appreciate this effort, I would be much happier, if we didn't have perfect food and perfect decoration, but a real holiday without that many obligations and instead a calm athmosphere. The last years Christmas felt like 1 day before a deadline at a super critical project on my job ... I tried to tell her a few times, but it seems, she doesn't understand this, because it's the same every year.

Just to have been spent some time with. I didn't get any Christmas gifts in 11 years of marriage, and since divorce, I've stayed alone for 12 years. But the thing I wanted and still miss more than anything is to just have chilled out together. A movie, snacks, and a cuddle on the sofa, with a nice bottle of wine or a single malt whiskey. The lights out and a candle flickering away. maybe I'll do better in the next life. I'm 50 this year, and I feel it's just not meant for me this time around, oh well!

Single unmarried childless man here, what I always want for the holidays, and I'm being vulnerable here because it's sappy as fuck, is to just for a minute have ALL my siblings in one place, together where we can see each other and ideally group hug. I'm the only brother of 5 kids and the dead middle child, two older twin sisters, two younger sisters, we range from 56 to 25, so we all have lives and work and businesses and kids, so to get everyone together at once has gotten so rare, I cherish those moments. When you're basically a loner alone in the world, used to a big family, they're all I have in the world. Men only want one thing and it is kinda disgusting: seeing other people you care about happy, even if it's at your own expense.

@montymartin39787 ай бұрын
One of the best Christmas "gifts" my ex gave me, when we were living together.... she woke me up with an "offer I couldn't refuse". We were going to her family's Christmas later that day, and would have her two children, so no complaints for an early morning romp. The second best gift she gave me, was... a divorce. No more "black Friday" shopping. If she would have woke me up about an hour earlier, the same way as she did with that "gift", I might not have been so grumpy about going shopping. I didn't mind being woke up for that, but to go shopping? Much better things to do that early in the morning. Like sleeping! Then, waking up to a good romp.

If the majority of women had a fraction of Emilys insights, there would be far fewer divorces. So many women simply are not wife material. They love themselves far more than the man they married as their actions support on a daily basis. NICE PRESENTATION EMILY.

WOW! As a man, this was outstanding. I was curious and you surprised me for sure. Every pic was good. We always like tools, so I was expecting the material things on here, but your choices were the real thing, besides we do not want someone picking out tools for us, and women have not a clue in tools. So I agree that everything on this list belongs there. I did score once when my neighbor lady ask me what to get him (materialistically), I told her the model number of the top Weber gas grill, ...score! Problem was that I could smell all the wonderful smells....ha

I indulged my ex and helped her with her hobbies and interests many times, but I wish she had been more understanding of mine. In our 10 years, she only helped me once with something I was truly passionate about. I knew she could not care less about it, but having her there meant the world to me. As far as gifts go, that was the best. As for socks and underwear, I'd rather not get something I need and would be buying anyway. That's not the worst that could happen though. The worst is when she gave me a gift that was actually for her. Case in point: The TV I never got to use.
@RobertMorgan7 ай бұрын
the love I want looks something like this, "I don't care where we go or what we do, as long as I'm doing it with YOU that's good enough". With that mindset even chemotherapy could be an ok time. The worst thing you can imagine happening to someone can be quite mitigated with SUPPORT.

I would offer that while I agree with good whiskey/drink, some don't/shouldn''t/can't, in which case a "man shop" card for a favorite hobby could swap in with the same effect. Men are surprisingly simple creatures - acknowledge them and appreciate them for who and what they are, and they will John Wick the world for you.

Emily is right about the hoodie. Many men don't really mind that their wife or girlfriend wears their hoodie. In fact there are lots of men who find it kinda s**y. As for peace and quiet. Over here in the Netherlands we have a practical solution for that: we have 2 Christmas days: the first usually at home with our own family. The second is spent visiting parents and inlaws.

As a man, you have a responsibility to have plenty of hoodies on hand to negate shortages. I like Columbia gear, I have probably a dozen of those hoodies, none of them my favorite, really like Marmot hoodies, they have the best 'hood shape', but my favorite favorite is my Patagonia heavy pullover, it's the warmest and it's huge because it was from when I was 307lbs, think it's a 2XL, I wear a medium now at 175 so it's like a wearable blanket, so cozy, I can even wear my body armor plate carrier under it. I'm the only brother to 4 sisters, I'm used to having my clothes stolen.

I don't care what clothes she wears as long as it is where it is and available when I want to wear it. I am 6'4 230, so her 5'10 130 can't really wear my clothes well. She just wears it around the house when it is cold. We figured out how to celebrate Christmas with something similar. We have extended family obligations on some day and then we do our Christmas on Christmas day.

Responses: #10: I'd rather see my parents while they're still alive, and I'd rather see her parents if it makes her happy. #9: I just wear a coat. Don't need hoodies. #8: I don't care about alcohol. I could go for a soda? But yeah, I relate to the "not wanting to spend money on ourselves." #7: Well, I just bought socks and underwear not too long ago, but if there's something you want to see him in, go for it. #6: Yes, absolutely. Nobody opens gifts until I wake up. #5: Again, yes, 100%. Ladies, if you open your gift and like it, show it with a smile on your face. That's what he's really hoping for. #4: Okay, she's starting to track here. Yeah, once the gifts are all done, can we chill for a while? #3: Who doesn't want good food? #2: I mean, obviously. I'm a little torn on the "coupons", because let's try not to make it transactional, but yes, at least some enthusiasm here. #1: Yeah, I think she nailed this one.

The nuance of wanting to feel that connection. So glad you brought that up. Sex with the person you love isn't just about that carnal desire. There's so much more to it
@darktenor49677 ай бұрын
It's me that cooks, so the food doesn't apply here. Also, since my wife is literally a foot smaller than me, there's no way she'd be able to ware any of my hoodies. However, one thing I'll add is any gift with thought behind it which I didn't know about in advance. Last year, among other things my wife bought me a mug in the shape of a black cauldron with a red dragon coiled around it. Every time I use the mug, I have a reminder that my wife bought it for me just because I have a thing about dragons and fantasy in general.
