I was just there last Wednesday when we were in Croatia. It wasn't on the list of things to do but I convinced my wife that we should make the 3 hr drive each way to see this. I kept reading that you should get here early. So we arrived at 7:30am after leaving our appt at around 3:30am..lol. There was hardly anyone in the park or at least while we were walking the entire C trail until we got to the entrance 2 at around 11:30. After that when the bus took us back down to Entrance 1 there were so many people it was horrible, busses of kids, busses of tour guides..etc.. Looking back down at the main water fall the entire trail looked like a Disney queue. I'm so happy we were able to walk the entire thing and not have people around us. My biggest advice is get there early. Unfortunately, the day that we went the sun wasn't out and it was gloomy/cloudy. Still super beautiful though. Everyone should come to see this park at least once in your lifetime. It was breathtaking.

Great video. Yeah, definitely buy tickets online because there are limited number of tickets sold each day. So it can happen that you go there and there are no more tickets left to buy.

I was picking up the coins that people would throw at plitvice lake in 1983 on the side of the wooden walkway. It was the winter probably December, not sure. I was a 10 yr old boy and It Was my first trip abroad with my family lol. I remember I had filled a whole bag with them and they seemed millions in the water. I think nobody told me back then not to pick them.for me it felt like a treasure ahah

Plitvice is great park. If you have the chance, I'd recommend a visit to the Krka national park also. It would be a shame to miss it. It's also very beautiful and you can swim there. Additionally, as you seem to like history - it holds a historic techno gem - second oldest hydro electric power plant in the world & the first one in Europe. By Nikola Tesla credits, this plant was commissioned two days after Niagara falls plant. But, Krka was the first one on-line and City of Šibenik was the first city in the world to be supplied with AC power. The plant with it's original parts are displayed, you can take pictures next to turbine shaft, etc...

Wow!! Awesome history. We were going to go to Krka for that very reason.. but apparently you can no longer swim in it. So we gave it a miss. 🖤. We appreciate your support Danijel

Have to check this stunning place out on our next trip - hope you'll be hitting up Montenegro , geographically more beautiful than Croatia in my opinion with some of the beautiful old towns perched at the foot of the Fiord....there is nowhere more beautiful where land meets water .'' Lord Byron''
