I’m binge watching your videos this morning and loving them. This is more great information- maybe do another with 10 things to do Iceland - like upload a local weather app, save money and don’t tip (so common in the US), support local arts or business by doing x,y or z (loved your souvenir tip to buy the rescuer key chain! Too bad I won’t be there until February) love the details you provide

Hi, As an Icelander I have eaten whale meat my entire life, and I know a lot of people that do. It’s not everyday food more like a nice sunday meal. I’m not here to debate on whale hunting. Just wanted to say that many people eat it, it is not just a tourist trap

Hi thanks for commenting, I can respect that and I meant no offence 🙂 I personally don't know anyone in my life here who eats it so I didn't think it was a popular meal with Icelanders.

I am an Icelander too, I only had whale meat once. That was in Denmark. My Danish boss had been to Iceland and thought I would be pleased with a gift of whale meat. Never had it when I grew up in Iceland. I´ve tasted shark meat in Iceland though (NOT good, don´t do it! Never ever!!!)

We have enjoyed our trip to Iceland my only gripe is the state of the pavements and the state of the roads where is the council workers or who does or looks after these things now back in Britain we get a weather warning and I am quite sure Iceland has the same so do they not salt the roads or have snowploughs to handle it when it happens,we went to see the Northern Lights on Sunday and went way bye the airport and then the next two days the said the road was shut to the airport which I don’t believe it and our flight was cancelled so are stuck in the hotel waiting for a email from Icelandic airlines who are not very good at letting us know what’s happening so gripe over. Oh nearly we felt that when eating in restaurants it wasn’t so much the mad prices I didn’t feel that I got value for the amount of food that was on my plate. So sorry for moaning.

Ah I'm so sorry you haven't had the best expensive of the weather ln your trip! The weather we currently have is pretty extreme, here in Selfoss it has been a record-breaking amount of snow and the public services are trying their best but it takes a bit of time for them to catch up. We currently have our roads plowed but not pavements here. I haven't been to Reykjavík this week to see what it's like there but I'm planning to go this afternoon (if the road is open) as I'm selling at a Christmas market in town today, I really hope everything opens up later! I think the storm is almost over and you should be able to fly home shortly, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you 🤞 Yes I agree about the portions at restaurants, they can be really stingy with them. I hope you've had a good trip regardless ☺️
