A few months back, about 5 of us were skating at the local university. We brought a bunch of P-rails and set up a mini park in the parking lot. About 20 minutes into the session, the security guards rolled up in their golf carts. I thought for sure they were going to boot us. However, they just wanted to watch and talk. Great security guards there.

#6 is at the top of my list. I have always wanted to call the police on skate park misuse, since it seems to be the accepted solution when the tables are turned. I think the conversation would be pretty funny, "No, I'm the one skating, I'm calling you because someone is at a skate park and *isn't* skating." 😂 In seriousness though, since parks are the only place we're allowed to do our thing, we should have the right to make people leave who want to use it as their non-rolling playground.

Nothing frustrate me more than the little timmys riding scooters around and families sitting on ledges like its a picnic table or something. Kids just ride in any direction across the park, not even trying to do tricks, just using it as a f*cking pump track.

Great work again mate, your clips are an absolute highlight. One thing I hate, though it's not just specific to Rollerblading is the gatekeeping. People hating on other bladers incorporating wizard skating or doing more flips than grinds, more park than street or whatever. We lost Ryan Williams to blading early on as people were giving him grief for being more into flips than grinds. Dude ended up a legend of the Scooter/BMX scene.
@TomMoyse Жыл бұрын
Interesting. I think there is different levels of gatekeeping and come is good and useful. Ryan Williams would have move onto other things eventually anyway, it’s a shame if the flip thing was a big reason, but those other sports would have offered him loads more

Now, as an old man that doesn't skate anymore but still love the sport all the same I look at properties and totally 100% understand skate stoppers. If I owned a building I would be pissed if my expensive ledges were completely wrecked with wax and ships/cracks everywhere. Granted, skateboards and bikes wreck things a whole lot more with the metal, but at the same time I get it. Also, not being able to sit on a ledge covered in wax without ruining my clothes does kind of suck. Such a strange feeling to be at that point when we used to rip these things off of ledges.

It's there to help you slide when a spot is crusty but please don't cake a whole bar on there. As someone who done a lot of design and architecture in school for my education, fuckers lost the records though, I hate skate stoppers, if we don't want skaters we know how to design it to stop us, the only damage all us different types of skaters can do is surface damage. I don't think if you ran over and jumped on the ledge it would crack, so do the people installing them think a boot with wheels or a peace of wood would alter out weight that much. Also skate stoppers don't just affect us, they affect the homeless and in some cases even just people who want to sit. You're at a skatepark skating the mini ramp some guy comes over on a pair of skates and haven't event tested the coping, but decided it just needs more wax and then goes and layers so much wax on. Then they drop in for a trick and miss it! Or they land it and get no where or even worse they land it slide out and says it needs more wax... Like mate seriously just come at it at the correct angle and you'll be fine. Don't get me wrong I enjoy wax after all I'm a rollerblader, but damn if you're going to roll your tricks don't wax the shit out of it 😂😂😂.
