In fact, electric showers are quite safe, contrary to what it may seem, because the electrical resistance that heats the water is insulated; the same is used in dishwashers and washing machines that heat the water

O Brasil é um lugar incrível. Sou brasileiro e tenho orgulho do meu país.

There some stuff are not true or half truth... 1. We do use the okay sign, it has another meaning but few people use for that and it have to have context for that. 2. True, for us is not even view as a sexual thing. Everyone use it to swim and no one cares much about it. 3. We normally don't like to stress about time BUT deppends on the person, city and ocasion. Some people like stuff on time, some city are more chill like Salvador and other super fast like São Paulo. And you can be laid in informal occasions like hanging out with friends and stuff like that but never in a work meetings for example, but if you do and you have a excuse they often won't get mad about it. 4. Beer has to be cold. With exception of some German beers in the south or artisanal beers. You can also drink in the streets or the beach, something I found quite strange the "land of the free" you can't do haha. 5. Mosquitos are not as bad as he made sound. Pantanal is a wet land, of course there will be tons of it. But if you are in big cities, cold weathers, dry season and etc is just like anywhere else in the world. 6. Eletric showers are safe and fast, only cheap ones have problem with pressure and etc. We don't need to heat our homes(with the exception of the south of the country) so make no sense to us having calefaction. Eletric showers are easy to install, cheaper and never get out of hot water, I love it. 7. Many countries are like that. Virtually almost all south America, half of Europe and most of Asia and Africa. Older or smaller pipes can't handle the paper. Also our paper don't disintegrate as easily. 8. True. Is a very diverse country so we also have introverts and A-holes too haha BUT our culture takes very serious being kind, friendly, having fun, being active, searching happiness and spending time with family and friends. Here if you act cold or smug about something is not cool at all and everyone will see you as just a dick. Being humble, down to earth and friendly is something that is a must no mater how rich or famous you are. 9. Driving it will also depends on the city. I live in Brasília, here people will follow the rules and will always stop for pedestrians But yeah, normally in big and/or touristic cities people will just do whatever they want. 10. Also true. Piranhas have a bad rep, they are not as dangerous as movies make it look like. And my dad used to go to fishing trips all the time, even went to the Amazon, he also went swimming with alligators all the time. They are quite chill and won't mess with a adult person unless you mess with them, and even then they will likely just run away. Sucuris(That's how we call the Anaconda specie) are also quite chill, they don't have poison and spend most of the time sleeping under water. They normally won't get close to humans and some can even become friendly and become pets(But that's illegal, dangerous and just super wrong. Don't make wild animals pets guys.). 11. True BUT is not like the movies. Most favelas are just like anywhere else. They have wi-fi, water, energy, schools, shops, restaurants, cultural centers, health care, libraries.... but always talk to a local before, each one have their own rules and stuff to know. Just remember that people there are like everyone else and there are more families trying to just have a normal life than a bunch criminals. 12. Soooooo true, our food is soooo good. We plant almost everything here and we are the biggest meat exporter in the world, that plus huge cultural influence from Asia, Europe and Africa. And also native foods and some ingredients you can only get here make a amaaazing combination.

In Brazil, where 40 million families use electric showers, accidents with this type of equipment are almost nil. More accidents occur with showers with gas heating. BR.

The mosquitos could be a problem depending of the place in the city and the season, in general we don't have problems with that, the mosquitos used to show up in some places near by rivers or lakes. The electric shower It's a cheap option for people who don't have the money to buy a gas heater.

The toilet in some city and in some buildings may be not the best, so if you throw a lot of paper, trow it in the can, but if wanna throw just a small piece of paper throw it in the toilets. Never throw a dirty paper of poop in the trash, throw it in the toilet

You don't have to worry too much about security, Brazil is a very safe place in general, but take the same concerns you would if you went to New York, Paris or another big city like these, in some places near poor regions it can be dangerous, so watch where you're going and don't walk around in a neighborhood you don't know, research the places before you go.

Actually, the inventor of electric showers was a Brazilian. It's not exactly a new invention, I've always seem them everywhere ever since I was a kid. They are as safe as any shower imo. Also, it's nice to not have to use natural gas to heat water (it's not a renewable resource, unfortunately). Nowadays you can just plug your shower to some solar panels and you are good to go. The electricity cables are super insulated, to the point that you can make the maintenance of your own shower at home by yourself by simply reading on it, or watching a video. It also has parts inside that work as a barrier to protect however might be using it case of an unexpected electric surge (say, a thunderstorm), and switching those basically feels like plugging in an USB.

Electricity will prefer to go back through the thick wire into the ground rather through the water which does not conduct very well. So it's safe.

Read the comment made by Pri C.m. down bellow. The guy didn't lie, but he's sharing only what he experienced here, which sometimes can be exaggerated. The only part that made me really annoyed was the traffic. Traffic here doesn't get worse than LA or NY. In my city, which has like 240k people, is super chill to drive and you get anywhere in 5 min. He made it sound like the traffic is a huge mess, like in India or Pakistan. But, I loved the video (both) and your reaction

super preserntation! Showers are bad, but in in upscale places they are just like in the US. Toilet sewer pipes are only 2" dia, so paper would clog the flow of solids. Again in upscale houses everything has European standards. Also, their toilets have hand showers, so you may not use toilet paper. Important, Brazil is clean! even favelas, bus stations are clean, and medical emergency is free!

I wouldn't take any chances with the alligators and piranhas of Brazil. I'm Brazilian and I've never heard of it! But yes Brazilians are very welcoming and don’t be shocked if at the end of a conversation the Brazilian will be inviting you to go to his house for a dinner. The Brazilian always wants to help and if a visitor asks him how to get to a certain place, instead of him giving him the directions he takes you to the place where you want to go, if he has time. A suggestion: react to 10 things the rest of the world should learn from Brazil

1. The OK symbol means "go f* yourself" in Brazil as it would represent the anus, it has fallen in disuse tho and most people will just look at you funny if you use it. Although better go with the thumbs up tho. Note that it meaning "ok" may be understood but again not something used here. 3. Its very dependent on the place and occasion. In particular Sao Paulo is the economic center of the country and a very fast paced place, but the norm is indeed more tranquil than other places, and very tranquil at some places (like where he has filming) 4. Our drinking culture is really cold beer and drink it while relaxing. Its ok to drink in the beach or in the street as long as you have self control. 5. He exagerated a lot although its like that in some regions like where the place he has showing (pantanal). You should look for scorpions in your boots in the northeast tho XD 6. The eletric shower are really safe, but his tip has bad, its better to open it a lot then close it until the water flow is being heated. This probably dont matter much for a tourist but if you come in the winter (specially at southeast or south regions) and just open a little there is a chance to "break" the shower (it burns the internal circuit). Its not dangerous but that would mean you need to take a cold shower during the winter. Also the reason we use eletric shower is that heaters are not really a thing in houses nor is the use of natural gas for heat (which is common in Europe). Then the easier way to get a hot shower when there is no natural gas system is electricity 7. I always find that the US is the exception on how they treat toilet paper. 12. Caju juice is amazing. Is kinda weird that we mostly export only the nut but it makes sense since fruits are not easy to transport. Rice and beans are the basic meal in brazil (normally with some type of meat), but we normally use black beans (very different from the ones used in mexican food which is also famous for beans) especially for our most iconic dish "feijoada" which is beans stew with pork (tail, ear, foot, loin and sausage). The other iconic dish is our barbacue (churrasco, 3:08 in the video is a barbacue house) which is very different from american "barbacue" (yes I'm using quotes, anything with hamburgers is not true barbacue). Plus there is regional food which are great as well
