Horizontal freezers give you much more space for the same investment but they are a bit harder to organize and require more floor space. They are supposed to be more efficient as well.

You should be able to get them in Ireland, it is so much easier than having to defrost the manual defrost freezer

hi really good video thankyou... can i ask your opinion on a Kenwood freezer... Are they good?
@lords-electrical Жыл бұрын
Must admit that as they are mainly exclusive to Currys in the UK we don't stock them so would be unfair of me to comment as to whether they are any good as i haven't seen one either.

A year ago I bought a non-frost free fridge freezer without realising. I’ve no idea how to defrost it, how often, and what’s the best time of year to do it?

i defrost mine by putting a normal everyday fan facing it i find it melt the ice preety quick but it is a messy job i used to use a steamer but that only made a kinda of fog and couldnt see a thing so run a fan infront of it that should work

We normally find the best way is to try and run the freezer down a bit first, then turn the fridge freezer off. Remove the food from both fridge and freezer and put them in cool bags, or leave the freezer food in their drawers and put in a cool place so the food doesn't defrost too quickly. I would normally wipe the fridge out first and give it a good clean. Then try and defrost the freezer quickly so you can get the frozen food as quick as poss. I find the best way is a hairdryer as it melts the ice quickly. DO NOT use a screwdriver as many people have done as it can puncture the side of the fridge. Normally once or twice a year should be ok and there isn't a time of year thats best, but i normally prefer winter as the frozen food that is out of the freezer will be colder for longer. Hope this helps a bit.

How do you think a freezer would do in a high humidity barn area?
@lords-electrical7 ай бұрын
It might work ok really depending on the ambient temperature of the barn, but i have seen appliances rust quicker if they are in a high humidity area.
