Nice thing about the USVI no sales tax. Gas prices are very high though. For electric I use Solar Panels. Cable TV sucks here & expensive so I use my AT&T TV here. Home Internet isn't bad here at all. I kept my Metro PCS service & works fine here from mainland with unlimited data but 5G not work all over here yet. Amazon Prime is not available here but you get it with in a week.

Its very surprising how i dont hear people talk about the US Virgin Islands. The rent there is cheap compared to where i am up north in the US. I've also lived in the Caribbean so i would definitely love the food and will be used to driving on the left side. Also, im wondering if its a State to State and country to country thing because roads seem to be terrible EVERYWHERE. No matter how much taxes u pay. We want to go to USVI this summer but it's so expensive. Im going to do more research and add this to my list of one of the places i want to relocate. Im also going into IT so i need to research how jobs are for IT there.

Glad to hear that you’re interested in moving here. I also do IT and it is an excellent field to get into down here. We need some diversity in the IT field as well. Being a small community most of the IT guys and gals know each other. If you make up your mind on coming here, let me know and I’ll try to give you as much info as you can. Hey what is the internet like in the VI?
@mblydenvlogs
@mblydenvlogs 4 жыл бұрын
Good Day. The Internet on a scale of 1-5 would be a 4. This is compared to a 5 in Georgia where I used to live. I have personally worked for 2 of the Internet service providers. Being that we live on the island the choices of whom they get their data from is limited, so in most cases the ISPs source may overlap. VIYA is the main wired internet service on island and depending where you reside some of the other ISP can provide you with fiber to your residence or business as well. Most of the other ISPs are wireless and providing that your house is in close proximity to a tower or Access Point, you can expect relatively good service. I personally have VIYA and though they've been relatively good within the past, myself and several other customers have complained about spotty service lately. It may be due to new demands for Bandwidth due everyone being at home and online per COVID19.

So about 2 years ago, I vacationed in St. Thomas for about a week, took the ferry to St. John, met tons of beautiful people but the only problem that I kept having was the way that I usually dress made me stand out like a sore thumb. Here in Arizona it's mostly hot year round so I wear dashiki and I am very afrocentric but out there one lady said that I kept being outcast because of all the African attire, the locals probably assumed that I was like royalty in Africa...lol...true story, I walked into one of the jewelry stores and I swear they all rushed over to me showing the most expensive jewelry. 🤣 so, I've decided that I want to relocate to VI end of 2021...so, what is a typical standard of dress for women?

Majority of our culture (which would include attire) is heavily influenced by Jamaica and New York. It’s different down here. You see some guys walking by in Timberland boots in 99 degree weather...lol

Good video but background noises drown out what you are saying. Also since the dialog is unscripted, at times it appears you are tired, trying to think of things to say, etc. please try a Point to Point Discussion Topic list.

Sorry about the background noise, I used my iPhone and was filming a little bit after 5 so the noise you're hearing is from people headed home after work. I would recommend listening to the video on a mobile device.

You should first explain that the US Virgin Islands are made up of St. Croix, St Thomas and St John! You are referencing only St Thomas and not explaining the difference between them and what each one has to offer. Just some construction criticism! My family is from the USVI and been going there since 1971!
