I haven't looked forward to a game this much in years. I know a lot of people hated that they're changing the story but I liked it. We don't know what's going to happen now but the characters will still go to the same locations. I like how they'll be ending Rebirth in the City Of The Ancients so Aerith's death will be the last part or you might be able to save her. I'll be happy with either. Getting to see how the rest of the original game would have played out if Aerith lived would be cool though. Seeing all the original locations reimagined is going to be great. I hope they explore the Cetra a bit more as well. That cut scene in the first game about them was great. In the original we got a few lines about the Cetra but they were generally left vague.

Yes you should buy ff7 crisis core reunion and the twin package of you want the full experience, but I also recommend playing the original ff7 as the story is very different from the remake. Also if you like modern ff games I recommend checking out ff15 it's my personal favorite.

As for JRPGs, there has never ever been a game of same scale and production value as 7 Rebirth in this genre. This is the first time in gaming history a JRPG as big as this will be released. FF15 was made by Luminous productions and FF16 was made by CBU-3 (a team that never made a single player game before)

Pretty sure the first game had a heavy hand in saying the whispers are fate and Sephiroth's plan was to destroy them so they couldn't act going forward. I doubt they would be in the sequels since the system supporting them has been destroyed.

Idk if I’m on board for this whole separate timeline thing. Part of what makes Cloud’s journey and internal struggle what it is, is the impact Zack and his death had on him. With him being alive, it feels like Cloud is no longer needed, not to mention useless still comatose. I hope Rebirth isn’t too hard like Crisis Core remake was and will be simple enough for ppl who just want to enjoy the story like in Remake. I hope Rebirth ends with Aerith’s “death”. Idk how they’ll handle it, if it’ll even happen or if it’ll be permanent, but I hope it ends on a sad note to hype us up for the resolution and finale that would follow. Also…I know it will happen, but I hope there’s more romantic scenes with Cloud and Tifa and/or Aerith.

I agree. I don't know how I feel about the changes. I'm excited but apprehensive. As much as I like Zack, I don't want him to take away from Cloud, and as you said, Zack is a massive part of why Cloud is who he is. Also, they have said there is a death, and it is permanent. Whether that is Aeris is the big question. I hope it is because, like Zack is important to Clouds story, her death is for the rest and moving everything forward. Also, the harbingers looked too Kingdom hearts for me. So I hope we don't get more things looking like that.

@@CaptainSwashbuckley Yea this is going to be…interesting. I honestly can’t see how the game can not ever have Aerith’s death, it’s just too vital to the story. And yea having Zack is cool, but FF7 isn’t supposed to be about him, it’s supposed to be about Cloud. I wonder if eventually these timelines will somehow mix and Zack and Aerith will make their way to the other timeline where they’ve already died. That’d be interesting, getting them back but not the version of them the characters know, that’s an interesting idea.

I think Sephiroth found a way to send himself to the past after his defeat in Advent Children. He then manipulated the group to helping him defeat Fate pushing forward his plan (whatever that is).

You literally only need to know one of the things on the list before you play it which is that it is a direct sequel. Nothing else on the list is knowledge needed prior to playing.

The Chocobo which can climb cliffs...we shall call them Link. We need a DLC mini game where Red XIII gets his driver's license, and an ending cutscene where he drives Barrett to Kentucky Fried Chocobo. I also want a Tekken DLC for Tifa which throws Tekken under the bus: an Akuma costume and move set, including his Instant Goku Murder move, so she can also kill Saiyans. And then I want a rocket launcher arm DLC for Barrett. And finally, I need a DLC which removes Yuffie from the game. No wait, that's the actual release. Thank you, Nomura.

@@TyLavoy that was way shorter than the original. I finished the first game within 3 days. That was like 10 to 15 percent of the original. It doesn't even cover the whole disc one. 40 if you started from the normal difficulty and maxing every materia. With the price tag it should be as long as final fantasy x. It only took me 17 hours to platinum the game. That's me taking my time.

The first game took 40 hours to complete and barely 60 hours to complete everything and this one seems to be the same or a little bit bigger than the first game. Battle system looks similar to Remake for this game. I play Tales of games so I got used to like hot key moves for each character. Playing Remake definitely helps with practicing for the upcoming game

Combat is really good. There's ways you can optimise it to make it play smoother it just takes a bit of getting used to. But I really like that it's not brainless. You actually have plenty of room to strategise, or react and make decisions to mix up your strategy based on what the enemies are doing. And there are plenty of materia set ups and status effects that really mix up combat and make it really engaging and still maintain alot of the depth from the original I just like that your not just playing every fight the same way on autopilot.

I'm looking for more of Cloud Strife....I found him as an amazing character and want to see more of all the beloved characters and explore the amazing story !! I am hoping of less Sephiroth tho, he's kind of overused and is a bit(more) annoying to me. I enjoyed the story arc where he was a good person slowly going mad after he finds out the truth, but he never was a character I enjoyed seeing on the screen ever...And him being overpowered in Remake annoyed me soo much.
