OMG those falls are so majestic! I'd love to get up early every morning and have a meditation session at each of the falls! The falls at the end of the trail are magnificent, but there's a certain strong yet peaceful vibe in those smaller ones! This is certainly on my bucket list of waterfall hikes next time I'm in nC

Our family recently started RVing and camping last October part time on the weekends, but mainly around Florida and Georgia. We'd love to visit that area in the fall sometime, so are thankful you've done this video for us to bookmark. We do hope to camp and RV full time in the future though.

The Catawba Falls trail looks beautiful. I’ve lived in NC my whole life and I’ve never been here! I’m starting to work on a new portfolio/photography book so I’m going to definitely check this area out! Do you have any suggestions on what time of year is the best time to visit the falls?
@christyevershappily4eversafter3 жыл бұрын
This would be a great place for your photography! Different times of the year will give you so many different photo ops. If you go in the Spring or fall, you'll get the different colors of the seasons, plus the trees will be more bare so you'll be able to see more of the hidden parts of the river and smaller falls that are more covered in summer leaves. If you go at the end of may to early june you may be able to get some of the rhodedendrons blooming along the trail. In winter, if it's cold enough you might get some cool frozen waterfall pics.

@@christyevershappily4eversafter I really do want to get out there and check this out for sure. I honestly can't believe I've never been there. I really enjoyed the videos and how you'd take us off the beaten path to show us other areas around the trail.

How are the roads going in to this park for towing an RV?
@christyevershappily4eversafter7 ай бұрын
They are good, at least up to the Catawba falls campground. catawbafalls.com/
@christyevershappily4eversafter6 ай бұрын
I just came back from the reopening of the trail and made sure to check out the RV situation for you. The Roads are great for RV's and the parking lot is small, but they do have a section dedicated to RV's, campers and buses. However, if the parking lot gets crowded, cars will start to park in the RV sections, so you will want to arrive early to make sure you can get a spot.

Best tip: prepare to get wet lol, I’ve been planning on visiting a waterfall for a long time, their is always something that puts off the trip. I hate getting wet though, so I just might bring extra clothes along
@christyevershappily4eversafter3 жыл бұрын
IKR! You only have to get drenched once or twice before preparing to get wet becomes a natural part of the packing process. LOL!

Catawba Falls has been closed for 2 years for improvements and it is now open! Here's all the info you need to know about what has changed northcarolinatraveler.com/catawba-falls-to-reopen/
@i_luv_hecklefish2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, Catawba Falls are presently closed now through Spring 2023. The forest service is doing work to make it more accessible for everyone. So I think it will be worth the wait. She is totally right about the bathroom. Glad I wasn't planning a picnic before I walked in. 😆 I immediately turned around walked out. I'd rather wet myself than have to inhale that odor any longer than I already had. 🤢
@christyevershappily4eversafter2 жыл бұрын
I had hoped they would have fixed that stinky bathroom problem by now! 🤮 hopefully that will be added to their renovations for a less stinky 2023. 🤞

Old Fart. I mean Old Fort is a fun. Probably should be the name of the bathroom. 🤣
