I remember back in 2003 when they were hyping up WWE Originals and the camera showed outside the arena and Cole points out Arista Records building and Tazz says. "And it's next to your record company-- VIRGIN!" LMAOO IMO Cole hasn't been as good with anyone else after Tazz. He & JBL were ok but it wasn't anywhere as good as he was Tazz. I get it was because they wanted him commentating on ECW but it kinda hurt SD a bit commentary-wise. JBL was too repetitive, constantly the same jokes over & over, like calling Hornswaggle the McNugget."

The thing about Cole is that he's not bad. That's about it though. He's...not bad. He sometimes even manages to reach "good", but it's rare. Way too often he also dips down into "outright shit", which certainly doesn't help. A large part of it isn't his own fault, I mean *you* try calling a match well when Vince McMahon is bellowing in your ears non-stop. Part of it *is* his own fault, of course. So while the man is no J.R. (then again, who is?), he's a perfectly decent enough commentator if given the choice, which he rarely is.

Funny thing about Cole, he's actually something of a genuine badass. Not an "entertainment" badass, a real life one- in 1994 he spent 9 months of his journalistic career covering the Yugoslavian Civil War live, which isn't a job for the shy and retiring. Usually working in wrestling doesn't come with much of a risk of being _shot dead or blown the fuck up._ He also covered the 51-day Waco Siege and the aftermath of the Oklahoma City Bombing.
