Hell no the guy can't even pronounce simple words or names. I'd hate to think of the dialogue in a movie with him. But I should digress. It's not his fault that Frankston has the lowest success rate in education. Frankston is what we Aussies call a 4th world suburb. The moron even pronounces it as Frankstown! he spent his entire life there and doesn't even know how it's pronounced! One of the suburbs in Australia that is always in the top 5 suburbs of Australia of highest unemployment rates... Frankston is so funny. All these people with 2 or 3 uni degrees and they all work in retail. I believe term over educated unemployed came from Frankston. Every 9 out of 10 unemployed person from Frankston has at least 2 degrees... you know degrees like art appreciation and home economics and dance! yes Frankston sports the first ever PhD in dance. If that doesn't clear up what i'm saying you'll never understand...lol!

Hats Off Entertainment did explain why the film was about Bean wrecking the lives of the Langleys: "Richard Curtis felt that this way, they could use the family as a basis for the movie's story, and then interject Mr. Bean into that story, therefore not giving his character the sole responsibility to carry the entire movie." Also, Mr. Bean's Holiday didn't have a proper straight man character to flesh out its comedy.

The coffee without a cup isn't just a gag, I've known people who've tried or recommended doing it before, but with instant coffee and room temp water. When I was in the Marines, people would do or suggest this as a way of getting a bit of caffeine while on a forced march. They'd take the packets of instant coffee, cream and sugar from an MRE, pour it in their mouths followed by s swig of water from their canteens. I actually tried it once and it didn't work out that well, just got a mouth full of wet instant coffee but not coffee. One last thing, those nails in the Bean poster aren't nails, they're rivets, unless rivets are called nails in Australia.

The Bean of the movie is not the Bean of the TV series. He's actually quite mean in the TV series but this was softened for the American audience. I also live five minutes from where much of the TV show was shot. Seeing how areas have changed makes me feel old.

Missed out on a couple of cool facts: The Mr. Bean choir song actually has lyrics! The opening and closer are slightly different too. Second, Mr. Bean's Holiday was influenced by a similar movie and character, Monsieur Hulot's Holiday - check it out if you like classic Bean shenanigans!

Being from the U.S. I've never heard of this guy. After the birth of my twin boys in 2004, I remember renting one of Rowan Atkinson's movies around 2008 and instantly making it into the usual rotation of movie's my family absolutely loved. We still watch em from time to time and we are taken back to the good old days before the world lost its mind.

They were both doctors. Atkinson in a 20 minute comedy show and Capaldi in the series.

Rowan Atkins DID play Dr. Who in a British comedy series that ran for charity. He made a REALLY GOOD Doctor!

One of the most memorable moments where I laughed uncontrollably for far longer than normal was when Bean finally shows the painting to David. David’s reaction is one of thee funniest thing I’ve ever seen. To this day when im appalled and angry at the something I always shout “god of god” 🤣💯🤘🏻

I love the Mr Bean show, both movies, and the animated series. I would love to see a 3rd Mr Bean movie. That all being said, i would LOVE to see a Minty movie. Starring Minty of course. And i don't want it to deviate from the series.

Mr Bean the movie is an enjoyable funny film, though i always wondered how it would have turned out if it had less dialogue and a laugh track included like the TV show had?
