It's not his fault that Frankston has the lowest success rate in education. Frankston is what we Aussies call a 4th world suburb. The moron even pronounces it as Frankstown! he spent his entire life there and doesn't even know how it's pronounced! One of the suburbs in Australia that is always in the top 5 suburbs of Australia of highest unemployment rates... Frankston is so funny. All these people with 2 or 3 uni degrees and they all work in retail. I believe term over educated unemployed came from Frankston. Every 9 out of 10 unemployed person from Frankston has at least 2 degrees... you know degrees like art appreciation and home economics and dance! yes Frankston sports the first ever PhD in dance. If that doesn't clear up what i'm saying you'll never understand...lol!

Hats Off Entertainment did explain why the film was about Bean wrecking the lives of the Langleys: "Richard Curtis felt that this way, they could use the family as a basis for the movie's story, and then interject Mr. Bean into that story, therefore not giving his character the sole responsibility to carry the entire movie." Also, Mr. Bean's Holiday didn't have a proper straight man character to flesh out its comedy.

The coffee without a cup isn't just a gag, I've known people who've tried or recommended doing it before, but with instant coffee and room temp water. When I was in the Marines, people would do or suggest this as a way of getting a bit of caffeine while on a forced march. They'd take the packets of instant coffee, cream and sugar from an MRE, pour it in their mouths followed by s swig of water from their canteens. I actually tried it once and it didn't work out that well, just got a mouth full of wet instant coffee but not coffee. One last thing, those nails in the Bean poster aren't nails, they're rivets, unless rivets are called nails in Australia.
