Christopher McDonald became so well known for the part he played in "Happy Gilmore" to the point that most fans, who met him afterwards, would usually call him "Shooter," or "Shooter McGavin" instead of by his real name. The actor admits to embracing this sentiment from fans and has no problem responding to people who call him by the character name as if it were his real name.

Pitt Meadows BC is my hometown, it's where a lot of the golf scenes were filmed at Swan-E-Set. A sort of goof in the movie is in one scene where Happy is arriving at the front gates of the golf course, he driving south down a road as he approaches. The north end of that road leads only to a parking lot for a lake and a boat launch, it is highly implausible anybody would ever approach Swan-E-Set from that direction (but the background of the mountains is very scenic).

I knew McDonald as the last surviving senior officer of the USS Enterprise C in the Star Trek The Next Generation episode Yesterday's Enterprise. His character was named Lt. Richard Castille, and an alternate timeline Lt. Tasha Yar went to the past with him leading to the birth of half-Romulan recurring villain Sela (Yar and Sela both played by Denise Crosby, granddaughter of Bing Crosby).

3:20 I just had an epiphany. I played roller hockey as a kid and when you slap shot you want your stick to hit the ground behind the ball and that flexes the stick backward. Then the stick snaps back(forward) after that flex and that really fast snapping motion is imparted into the ball. When executed properly it makes your slapshots far more powerful. I had some friends who played ice hockey and I asked them if they did the same and they all confirmed that they did. This might be what his friend was doing when golfing.

You missed one part of the Subway tie-in. Subway had a contest where the grand prize winner would get a speaking role in an upcoming movie (Happy Gilmore). The winner of the contest was the guy towards the end of the movie who says, "The gold jacket's yours Happy. Shooter's going to choke!"

really love this series of 10 things... covers a lot of underrated movies that i really liked. altho, i'm sure others already pointed out, chubs didn't have a wooden arm, it was just his hand. as for adam sandler. i remember looking at reviews for one of his movies some years ago, and people were saying "he's such a jerk, he just makes these movies to get money and take his friends on free vacations" yeah.. what a jerk! if someone offered me a bunch of money for me and my friends and a free vacation somewhere, i would never take it, i'm not that much of a jerk. (sarcasm)
