The great thing about the p365 magazine design isn't that you get smaller grip length, it's the grip width that makes it so amazing. Single stack thickness with doublestack capacity
@Fred-mv8fx2 жыл бұрын
The thing I'm surprised nobody ever mentions is that Taurus Millennium / G2C / G3C magazines are almost the same size as the P365XL magazines, designed and manufactured way before Sig invented the P365 for a lot less money. Everybody hypes the magazine but I think the real novelty was only in squishing the gun down to single-stack size and making it with enough quality people would actually want it.

They're not single stack thickness though. The 365 magazine body is the same width and depth as a Beretta 92 mag. They taper into a staggered stack further down toward the middle of the magazine, but the main body of the 365 mag is just as fat as the Beretta's.

Hey Chris, the 15 rounder fits it as well. It looks a little goofy but shoots out just fine. When I go out, the 10 or 12 rd mag goes in and it goes IWB. As soon as I get home the 15 rd goes right back in and stays there until I go out again. EVERY TIME I shoot the little gun it brings a big, poop-eating grin to my face because it just should not do that! It SHOULD want to jump out of my hand, but it doesn't. It SHOULD not be as accurate as a mid-size pistol out to about 25-30 yds. It's just amazing---truly. I've found my carry answer, I hope everyone else finds theirs. The P365 XL is so good that it finally got me into the game of subcompact/microcompact carry pistols, as opposed to just awkwardly concealing full size pistols to take advantage of their tradtionally far better shootability. I found the FT bullseye sight to be completely different than iron sights. Being new to shooting means the training options are not set from many reps. For me, the sig sas FT sighting process ulilized the top of the slide for elevation and side the the slide for windage. From there, the center circle alignment takes over as a fine tuning. The center circle is not visible until closely aimed. This can cause some confusion as to which direction to correct the aim. Additionally, more of the target disappears behind the sight when on target. So, it's just different and requires practice. I can imagine it could be a quicker sighting method.

Two reasons, I couldn’t find a comfortable way to carry the 26. With a spare tire all the way around my body holster carry was not happening. After much exhausting video review I found that a 9mm hollow point out of these short barrel guns generally won’t open when going through clothing because of lack of velocity. That being the case your not really giving up a lot going to the 380 in such a small gun. The 365/380 fits nicely in my pocket in its holster and you can just go on about your business. Great video! I just picked up a P365x two weeks ago, and I spent the weekend shooting it. I love the "slimness" of the grip. It fits my hands far more comfortably than my Glock 19, for example. This is very subjective, but I feel like the recoil/muzzle flip that I get on my P365x is a fair bit less than from my Glock 43X. I'm sure it's a combination of grip angle, grip width and bore axis, but I can shoot the P365x much more comfortably than any of my other 9MM compacts. Great review with lots of cool info. On a personal note I would recommend against any "conceal carry" gun with cut-outs on the side or top of the slide above the barrel, that's a great way to fill your recoil spring/guide rod full of debris or dirt and cause a failure when your life could be on the line. I'm not referring to the macro as it's mostly out at the end of the slide, I'm referring to top and side cut-outs specifically on carry guns 💯

Chris, the Allen County Sheriff's Department plain clothes Deputies in Indiana are also issued a P 365 as a duty sidearm since late 2018 early 2019. It is a perfect semi-auto replacement for a detectives special revolver for plain clothes officer concealment. Sig borrowed the idea of a serialized chassis system from Steyr and added their twists to it. My buddy has a Steyr M9 (patented 1999) with a removable fire group that he bought in 2002 which predates Sig's chassis system pistols the P250 (first release 2010), P320 (first release 2014), and P365 (first release 2017). Now it seems more and more companies are moving towards utilizing this technology. One of my favorite pistols that uses a chassis system is the Beretta APX series. I know the first gen APX had many people on the fence thanks to the futuristic movie prop like appearance, but it was a very ergonomically pleasing pistol to shoot and mitigated recoil far better than the Sig offering in my opinion. I love the sighting system of the Steyr M9 but it is much like the Glock in its grip angle which does not feel natural to me. That is not to say I cannot shoot it well because it is a tack driver but I much prefer the Beretta grip angle as it requires far less mechanical adaptation of my hold and point. I grew up shooting 1911s and steel framed hammer fired DA/SA pistols so my fundamentals and muscle memory are all steeped in the sweeping of manual thumb safeties and less of a wrist cant straight point and shoot mechanics. I have owned several fantastic pistols such as my Springfield GI 1911 45acp, Beretta 96 Centurion, CZ-75, CZ 40B, and a Rami 2075. I never warmed up to Glock's grip angle as it didn't feel natural so the Steyr falls into that same category but the trapezoidal sights are amazing.

I love Sigs. Carried the M11 in the military and owned a few models here and there. Sig Sauer made guns that fit my hands. Was elated when I heard about the 365, went to buy one when it first came out, held it, and realized it didnt fit my hand. Just got a Rose .380 for my wife, apparently it fits her hand perfectly. My EDC? Smith & Wesson Sheild 9plus

I own the original 365 and 365XL. I noticed that the 365 with 12-round magazines has the same sized grip as the XL. (Just missing the beaver-tail.) So, I replaced the XL grip module with a 365 module and now can run both with either 10-round or 12-round magazines. Interchangeable magazines is very nice.

Any issues running the XL slide on the smaller frame? Is there a gap where the frame & slide meet? Considering this set-up, everyone talks about putting a 365 slide on XL frame but not the other way around and it's the grip that makes a gun hard to conceal, not the slide. It seems like I should buy the XL then just a smaller frame module

Love that I can get 17 rounds in my X-Macro without having to carry a spare mag if I choose not to. Don't have to worry about carrying a reload since I'm not carrying a small 7 or 8 round capacity CCW. I like that ability to just have it in the gun and make carrying a second mag an option instead of a necessity.

Don't fool yourself. You should ALWAYS have at least one spare maximum cap magazine on your person. You can never have too much ammo.

I heard that micro nines can be a bit snappy until I happened to shoot a P365. I was overly impressed on how well it shot. Additionally the optic battery that was on it happened to be dead, but I had zero issues shooting it accuracy using the iron sights. Not sure what elven magic was used by Sig, but it’s a fantastic firearm. I wasn’t aware of the X-Macro since I prefer a longer barrel length as it is better for me to carry concealed.
@fixitrod49692 жыл бұрын
The macro slide is longer but not the barrel. I wish they used the XL barrel in it instead of the shorter barrel and comp cutouts myself.

Check out the Houge rubber grip if the p365 diameter feels to small. The extra "nubb" between the middle and ring finger assists in drawing the gun for me. I also had my holster made with a 20 degree angle to get the grip up a bit more because it is so small. 15 is more common.

An interesting configuration for a 365 X-Macro is to add an LX slide and threaded barrel. There a number of aftermarket comps available for threaded barrels so rather than run just a thread protector on one of mine, a Herrington Arms single port comp was purchased and easily added to the upper. This comps effect is somewhat mild compared to others but I wanted to keep the gun as 'ammo agnostic' as possible and avoid having to fiddle with various recoil springs in order to cycle different loads without issues. The comp adds about an inch to overall length and combined with the X-Macro lower's picatinny rail adds a unique appearance. The only downside to all the configuration options is the amount of testing needed to ensure functionality. Although I trust this gun with the threaded barrel the comp is still an unknown.

About the name of the P365, it always reminded me of the discontinued Taurus PT 24/7. I wonder if Sig got inspiration from there in terms of naming the gun.

I have the SAS and love it. However, I modified the hell out of it. Wilson Combat XL grip module with tungsten rods, tungsten guide rod, lima laser, flat trigger. Shoots so much better if the extra weight doesn't bother you. The ported barrel does not bother me either.

I love my P365 however the only downside is that the initial racking is tough for slight of statue ladies. My wife has trouble with the rack strength. I'm fine with it but other than this, it is a fantastic firearm. Incredibly reliable and accurate. I also like to combo aspects.

I love my P365 with red dot. It's so comfortable for EDC and still get 12 rounds with no printing. The only knock with the P365 is the trigger pull. After the wall there is a squishy inconsistent feel where you can't dial it in completely like other stock hand guns

One of the guys at the range was telling me about this yesterday because I was looking at an M&P and he said to check out the Sig. I had mentioned some models feel too short in my hand (I know it's personal preference) but he mentioned the different sizes. Funny that I came across this video today when I went to Google, it was the first one that came up. I'm taking a friend to the range this week so I may look into renting one to test it out.

I have a Sig P365 and love it. I HAD a SAS 365 until the internal sight crapped out. If you get ANY cleaning fluid on it it will destroy the sight. I called Sig and the acknowledged this happens. I’m VERY careful when cleaning my guns and don’t just slop fluid on it. The sights are warranty’d for 5 years. I sent it in - got it back and promptly sold the gun. Also - I hated the sight and sight picture.

I shot the 365 and 43x at my local shop that also has a range. The 43x shot better (tighter group)for me but the 365 felt better. They've been in operations for 15 years or so and said they've never sent a Glock back for a catastrophic failure but have sent a few, not many, 365s back to sig. Don't know which way to go but I'm leaning towards 43x for shooting better and reliability.

So, I have the original p365. Bought it when it first came out and love it. I carry it in a “light tuck” vedder holster pre cut for optics. Now since I have the original, the slide is not cut for optics. I want to put some optics on it now. Do any of the other 365 slides that come with pre cut optics work on the original grip frame? Or should I send my slide off to get milled? Trying to keep original shape of the slide that way I don’t have to buy another holster.

Can you put a p365 fcg in a xmacro grip module? Will you have to replace the slide and barrel?
@JacksonWalter7352 жыл бұрын
I love the P365. It's such an amazing pistol with so many features for a tiny EDC option. In the future I hope Sig releases an optics ready variant of the standard P365 and also update the X/XL models to have the newer optics system too (like the ones on the .380 version or all the newer P365). Maybe for a Gen 2 Sig can release a large grip frame as well like they do for the larger P320 series. The standard grip just feels too thin and doesn't fill out my hands as well. The Wilson Combat grip module fills out my hand so much better (and adding hogue grips on top of that makes it perfect).
@Jaybird-oo3ih2 жыл бұрын
they have released the standard p365 cut for optics (p365x)
@JacksonWalter7352 жыл бұрын
@@Jaybird-oo3ih yes but then you would have to get a P365X. On top of that you will also need to get a smaller grip module and 10 round mags. This is for the older optics system where you have to remove your rear sights instead of the newer one on the .380 version and the newer P365 models that have been released.
@Chuck1284- Жыл бұрын
You can even get a P365 in California now! Might not be the particular model you want (3.1" version with a manual safety & magazine disconnect) but the beauty is that you can modify it to whichever configuration you want thanks to the FCU modularity. You can remove the thumb safety and mag disconnect after watching a couple of KZbin videos. Amurica!

I really like the P365XL--it was one of the first three pistols I bought when I started buying pistols a few years ago, based on a solid recommendation by a friend of my wife's (another was a P10S from CZ). My ONLY problem with the piece is that magazine changes are a bit challenging with my XXL hands. Yes, it's easy to conceal, especially since I'm not a tiny guy. Yes, it's thin as heck, which has the downside that it's hard to get enough of my hands on it to feel as good as I do with my CZ PCR. As a relatively-new pistol carrier, I've not been as mentally comfortable with carrying with a round in the chamber for striker-fired pistols, so I'm far happier with a DA/SA pistol like a P07 or a PCR, but the P365XL remains in the arsenal should I want a more subtle carry piece.
