There cages gets very stinky so Deep clean it about every 2-3 days. Hii! I have a question as I’m wondering about getting a guinea pig! 😊 Do they need to be able to graze on grass? I live in an apartment and it doesn’t have a garden! Also another thing is, do they get scared by dog barking? People walk their dogs by the apartments and the bark SO MUCH! It’s ok if you can answer! :)
@AllieXwilliams3 жыл бұрын
@@zoe-ci3xv loud noises do startle the piggies. Mine are upstairs and away from my dogs so they don’t hear them. But over time i think they will get used to the loud barking from time to time. It might take a little longer for them to be comfortable because of the shocking loud noises tho. I have taken my pigs outside to play with the kids I babysit(on the grass) and they liked it, but it’s not a necessary need. I’m not the perfect pet parent but that is what I have gathered throughout my pig Journey so far. I hope this helps at least a little bit!😁

I too have a Cleo 😊 And two more girls, Phoebe and Sheba. Sadly my elderly gent Tipsy, had to be put to sleep.😢 I held him as he crossed the Rainbow 🌈. Oh yes we cry, but I have always stayed with my pets large or small, you owe it to them to show you love them, as they loved us unconditionally all their lives 💗 I also have a big space for my piggies. I don't intend reducing it, even though I'm almost on the pavement outside....on the sofa.... watching TV!! lol 😆 My girls have a 3x5 grid and floor time for "play time" and love to zoom. They are going for a nail trim tomorrow, as they're young and still skittish, I want them to have a good experience, without any mishaps!😱. They are coming out of their shell and climb on me for treats, but scream blue murder when picked up, no matter how gentle! 😅 They do calm down, when THEY are ready. They may never be like to be picked up, but kindness and gentleness ALL THE TIME is the key to a piggies heart, (🐹 don't forget the treats!! 🥕🥬)

Actually very often guinea pig stress themselves out a lot....l think we did a mistake by having too.... from time to time we have to split them in different cages and slowly introduce them again, for some time they are good and than again same process. I feel my guinea pig that was alone lived stress free life,was much more comfortable doing stuff, interacting with us and we spent quite a lot time with him, sister would do her homework and guina was sleeping or cuddling in her lap.

I have 2 guineapigs, both girls. I have alot time for them, they do have hay all the time. And ofcourse vegetables, but not really any dandelion leaves or anything like that because well, there's already LOTS of snow on the ground. Lumi, is a bit bigger pig, compared to her sister Lulu. Lumi loves attention, right now she is sleeping on me. So i don't want to bother her, Lulu loves attention too. Lumi is white, and Lulu has white, black, brown, and dark brown colored fur. But the thing i really need to know is that how often should i bathe my pigs? I know bathing them too often will dry out their skin. So i want to make sure i don't bathe them too much, their fur is short and usually very soft. But it has started to feel a bit rough than usually. They are still young, so could that be because they are getting older? Maybe, but how much do guineapigs usually shed? I love my guineapigs, and i want them to be happy and healthy, so if you have time. Please answer if you can.

He sometimes jumps around almost playfully when I try touch him. Does this mean he’s happy? Also my room was cold so I had to turn on the heater. While I wait for it to warm up I put him in a little box with comfy towel under him and above him. He seems to close his eyes often. Also when I touch his ears he closes his eyes and on occasion will yawn. He also sometimes teeth chatters than goes back to looking relaxed. I don’t know if he likes what I’m doing or not. I'm 9 and will care for mine so much. I will feed every day and give water and cut Nails( I will ask my dad to help) and will NOT wash them. And I will love them soo much. Also I have my room pig safe so I will let them free roam in my room and probably let it sleep in my bed if it wants and will clean the poop

For a long time I wanted rats as pets, but when I went to summer camp they had a place where you could pet animals and stuff and they had a Guinea pig there who I just LOVED and he loved me (I could tell his emotions because of my knowledge on rats and also when I got home I looked it up again just to make sure). So now I’m considering getting Guinea pigs (but rats are still number 1).

What if your parents don't allow two guinea pigs? Will another family member have to take care of it when you're out, or will you have to give it lots of attention?

My nephew just got a Guinea pig for his b day. Im kinda worry. Due to the noise they decided to keep it at the naturområder. That makes me Wonder, what is the right temperatur for a Guinea pig to feel good? Thanks

The close caption for "long-haired" came out as "lunkhead" hahaha...Hey reet-rats have feelings too! :) Great presentation and solid facts and knowledge. I'll wager that most people my age (57) in America had reet-rats when we were kids and maybe as teens too and never knew most of this stuff. I'd love to own a pair now but schedule doesn't really permit it.

I have a guinea pig and I am getting him a new cage cause his is way to tiny and I feel so bad I didn’t know when I got him and I’m wondering is the Aivituvin air 10 cage and it’s 9.12ft (tall? I think) big enough for my guinea pig (I am going to try to get another male) so will it be big enough? Also any recommendations for places to get toys?

Hello, what can I do with my guinea pig, she was agressive to other pigs in pet shop so she was separated and put to adoption. Is any way to introduce her to other guinea pig?

Oh ma’am thankyou! I’m getting a guinea pig soon - I didn’t know they could get depressed without another of their kind so it helped a lot, hopefully I won’t be allergic to them since my sinus is very sensitive, I sneeze a lot every day :( Great video! Very informative :)
@GuineaPiggles3 жыл бұрын
Thank you :) I'm glad you liked the video. I guess guinea pigs are much like humans. If we were completely on our own but living with other animals we would probably feel very lonely too.
@commenter5943 жыл бұрын
@@GuineaPiggles ah now that I think about it, you are quite very right. I really appreciate the help! I would’ve been devastate if I made my guinea pig depressed luckily we’re getting two! One female and one male hopefully they’ll be happy with eachother :)

I have a hamster, his name is BMO, 4 months old rn. Thinking about getting a Guinea pig because the petshop I saw them at has a small shitty tank/cage thingy with 3 of them in it. Thank you for the advice!

Amazing video, thank you! I'd like to get 2 guinea pigs, but I travel a lot (1 hour trip with the car, normal road, once a week or once every two weeks to visit family-and then back home, of course). Will these trips be super stressful for the piggie? Would it help if I sit in the rear seats and soothe it on my lap? (By petting and maybe giving them a treat).or should getting them be out of the question?

Is it ok to wash the blanket I but in there cage for poop and pee or to vacuum?
@GuineaPiggles4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure exactly what you mean but fleece liners need to be washed regularly and you can use a handheld vacuum for the daily poop clean.
@cough4644 жыл бұрын
I know sometimes they poop on the fabric but sometimes do they pee on it too?
@GuineaPiggles4 жыл бұрын
Yes, they will pee and poop but if you put the hay in a safe hay manger with a litter tray underneath and put a bit of hay in the litter tray, you'll find that they do a lot of their pees there as they eat the hay. Check out our video on how to do a full cage clean and you'll see our set up is like that - hopefully you'll find it useful :)
