There is such a thing as a natural disaster. A disaster is defined as a calamitous event, especially one occurring suddenly and causing great loss of life, damage or hardship such as a flood, aircraft crash or a business failure. These are disasters.

Hello plz is it able to help me Question 1: As a conservationist what would you do if you discovered that an undeveloped open area of your community was vulnerable to (a) landslides (b) flooding. You have just read about plans to build a bigger road and bring water & power to this potentially hazardous area. Question 2: Imagine you live in a rural community 10 km from a big city. What does installation of water & sewer lines tell you about the future vulnerability of your community? Question 3: During a risk assessment process a newly established/located community concludes unacceptable risks of flooding after each heavy rain. What is most appropriate for the community to decide to do?

Disaster risk reduction (DRR) refers to the systematic efforts and measures taken to minimize the vulnerabilities and risks associated with natural or human-induced disasters. It involves the identification, assessment, and reduction of the factors that contribute to the occurrence and impact of disasters. The primary goal of disaster risk reduction is to enhance resilience and build the capacity of communities and societies to withstand and recover from disasters.
