To those of you questioning the thumbnail... Pressing the eject, bind/pair and power buttons at the same time will boot the Xbox One into the _Hidden Troubleshooting Mode._ This is a mode for when you want to update the console via USB stick or reset the console if it’s bricked or not working right. Don’t worry, it won’t harm your Xbox. It’s really only needed for emergencies, and I even used it once when my WiFi wasn’t working and I had to update it from USB stick. Happy gaming!

Some of these things almost gave me an aneurysm I’m a Xbox modded myself, and for one the Xbox one “jail break” isn’t called a jtag a jtag is for the older Xbox 360’s not the Xbox one and those third party controllers are awesome. Also if you just use compressed air and spray out the vents will not clear all the dust. Yes it may loosen the dust but you have to take the lid and fan off to clean the heatsink, if you spray compressed air into the system you spin the fan up and create back voltage which could cause problems. So if your gonna perform maintenance on your console look it up how to do it and take pictures so you don’t forget how to put it back together, don’t just spray air into it and call it a day.

I've definitely taken mine apart. Had to, the entire thing sheet metal that runs around the outside of the motherboards little vents were all clogged. My Xbox started overheating and shutting down. After I TOOK it apart and cleaned it all was good

Third party controllers are perfectly fine. I have a PDP Afterglow Prismatic controller (the newer model of the first controller you showed), and I’ve used it for a long time and it works just fine. It’s extremely durable and the USB has even survived being bent and ripped out of the console.

Really? I haven't seen a brand in 30yrs of gaming that puts out accessories that are as reliable and well built as first party stuff. A good one every once in a while sure... but as a broke kid I got burned too many times by cheap controllers. Unless you can afford to waste the money... go for the sure bet. The Xbox One WAS actually designed to watch Television on, on the original console, with the addion of the USB TV tuner, and either the Kinect or an IR blaster extension; the console not only acted as a TV with interactive Guides and PVR, but it could also Control your TV, Surround Sound System and even your Cable Box - this is why there is also a HDMI Input at the back of the console aswell. You don't have to change source on your TV at all, just do it all through the Xbox menue. To take this one step further the Xbox One S and X consoles have the IR Blaster already built in - no need for a Kinnect or IR Extensions anymore. You guys need to get ur facts right.

I'm actually a professional tech fixer and I can recommend it's fine to take it apart, use alcohol if you really want to use chemicals but not recommended,,,,I'm currently taking mine apart to change the wlan module and re change the 0603 led from a white one to a purple one

I recently was setting up a xbox series s and stupidly turned the xbox off during the first 20 seconds of the initial installation then 10/20 seconds after turned it off at the wall. Everything's fine loading up and doing the update again but I was wondering could there be damage done? Could it be slower now than it should? Or am I stressing/overthinking & need to chill?

You can buy controllers from your local store if its an official Microsoft controller. If it was advertised as being able to watch TV than it is designed to watch TV. I bought a third party controller for my Playstation and it was better then the crap Sony made I also have a third party controller for my Dreamcast and it still works perfectly and I have thrown it down in anger several times so it's durable so not all third party controller brands are crap.

I've been watching Live TV via my xbox one since I've owned it. Not everybody has cable tv or a tuner. It's easier to open TV through the Xbox to watch quickly vs having to reach for a remote to switch inputs on your TV. This video is you reading literally the user manual for the Xbox one. Actually when I passthrough the xbox one through my cable, I lose audio every now and then. Have to unplug the xbox one, and plug it back in, and bam got sound again. Talked to microsoft, they have no fix. Imagine that.

Batteries are so much more useful than wired only controllers because all you need to do is buy a battery charger, put chargeable batteries in and when the batteries run out, all you need to do is replace them instead of using a completely different controller or having a wire dangle down in front of you.

This really applied to the original Xbox and the Xbox 360. This generation's 3rd party accessories are much better. However you get what you pay for. If you spend $50-$100 of a 3rd party controller, then as a rule of thumb it should be a good controller. However if you pay $30-$40 for a wireless controller, then good luck.

Yup been using enloop rechargeable batteries for over six years no issue. I think they were $20 for a pack of four they go roughly 40 hours running a mic as well and take 7-8 hours to charge.

Using compressed air to "clean" a console will hurt it in the long run. You will make it run hotter since you just push all the dust into hard to reach spots causing that area of the console to heat up faster.
