Maybe they should be called something else but I've had a good experience with them so far. It's a bit of a gamble but i try to be careful and it paid off ages ago when I got the witcher 3 season pass before the DLCs came out, pretty sure I only paid £20 for loads of great future game time. I've had other good gambles too with them. Some companies are really bad with it though. I know some limit the number of DLC per pass instead of it being for all future DLC.
