@@SDSOverfiend I just watched the KZbin video from when Marshall was picked number two overall. Kiper did call Marshall a great back, but he dissed the Colts for making Marshall their pick instead of a "franchise quarterback" like Dilfer. I seem to remember another comment by him saying the Colts could have got a good running back later in the draft. In other words, Marshall wasn't worth being picked that high. I guess it's all in your point of view. I had season tickets for Faulk's sophomore and junior years and I knew he deserved both the Heisman and being the number one pick in the draft... and he got neither one. At least he got a ring.
@SDSOverfiend5 жыл бұрын
He said thats not who they needed. Faulk was the truth though. This is why i don't comment on GM's making choices on players. They needed a QB so Kiper was just stating he obvious. Sort of like the Giants taking Barkley despite needing to look for a QB

Context matters....that Calvin pick was a bad pick at the time. People forget that when the Lions picked Calvin Johnson that was their 3rd WR picked in the First Round...in THREE STRAIGHT YEARS (Roy Williams and Mike Williams the prior years). We all hated the pick at the time. It was less about Calvin and more about the fact we had picked a WR for 3 straight years

That 2012 Seahawks draft was exceptionally good. Every pick hit. All 10 of them. Even the guys who didn't make the (stacked) roster caught on with other teams and all were still in the league 4 years later in 2016. Plus they snagged some UDFAs who went on to contribute to the team (Kearse, Shead, Coleman, Helfet). That's 14 guys they found in just one year. A huge chunk of the roster for a SB run filled just like that. How Jon Schneider didn't get Executive of the Year honors (they instead gave it to Ryan Grigson for having the insight to take Luck #1) I'll never know.

“Best weapon brady ever had” y’all really forget he had the second best receiver of all time for a year and a half
@aaronbrungardt66035 жыл бұрын
Gronk was great in that he was a mismatch on every down, but I don't think Wes Welker and Julian Edelman get the credit they deserve. They turned the slot receiver into a more integral position. When you look at Brady's stats, his average yards per attempt is under 7. He can make the safe throws, manage the games, and goes down field only when he catches the defense sleeping. He doesn't have to force a completion because he has that guy who gets open 5 or 6 yards with speed to get Yards after the catch. And it's tough to defend. Ask the Chiefs. AFC Championship... We all knew who Brady was going to throw to in OT, but you can't stop it.
