So many people feel Iris needs to step her gift-giving game up. I've never felt Iris needed to do that, and it's sad that women feel the need to. Material or physical things isn't something women need to always give or present. Iris gives and supports in ways that are seen as invaluable to him, things he couldn't give to her before. Growing up, she was always there, being "wife goals" long before they were in a relationship, it's part of why he loves her. Who she is, what she's willing to give and be, relationships like this are not based on material things, that's why it lasted. The home was just a physical representation of what he felt for her.
