Epecially considering Toriyama has stated several times that Piccolo is one of his favourite villains from the series, the way he was totally outclassed later on by most characters was a shame. However like one other said, at least he helped a bit during super, I wouldn't say he was inherently useful himself, but he got us back Mystic Gohan, so that's something. Had he beaten Frost tho, he very likely would have gotten wrecked by someone else in that tournament, sadly.

Anthony ofWindsor Vegeta is honestly one of the worst character developments out there. A year after he indirectly murder bulmas CHILDHOOD friends he becomes bulmas wife and acquires all her riches including a gravity room for training. Makes no fucking sense. They just accepted him too quickly; he was literally a mass murderer for fun. Even his backstory is bullshit. The only reason why he’s mad planet vegeta got destroyed was because he wasn’t king. The only reason why he’s mad at frieza is because frieza is more powerful than him and controls him; not because he’s made at all the terrible genocide frieza causes. Piccolo actually makes sense. Piccolo suffered from being isolated and having no friends. His father dies and literally right after he was born the farmers tried to kill him. No wonder he was pissed. He also only got beefed with Goku not his friends and never killed anyone in the original DB. He wasn’t a psychopath like vegeta. His relationship with Gohan makes sense because really all he needed was a friend. No one liked him except for Gohan and maybe Goku after saiyan saga. Bulma even suggested to leave him namek to die because she didn’t want him in the ship. Fuck vegeta he’s the most overrated character and even toriyama dislikes him.

Here is how i would progress to make Piccolo a useful god character again he deserves to be: - Piccolo goes to Yadrat - Piccolo learns about the old Namekian god who created the super dragon balls from their elders, as well as their techniques and how to truely be "1" being after namekian fusion. - Piccolo learns that the namekian god was an angel like being who divided his power into 10 things as he decided to stop his existance: 1-7 being the super dragonballs, 8 and 9 being the creation of the first namekians and yadrats (acutally making them somewhat related) and the 10th being his soul which waits for a worthy namekian or yadrat to give parts of his powers to. - Piccolo travels to new namek and the 6 the universe namekians and learns how exactly the legend went and by a miracle, gets blessed by the powers of the old namekian god. his power should be somewhere close to Blue Evolution Vegeta currently is, but he should also gain parts of the magical powers the old namekian god had. being able to heal or even revive people at will, regenerate instantly, unlock the potential of others, etc.

I hope they conitnue to show that piccolo is a true tactician. He may not be the strongest but his mind is his edge. Even when fighting frost and powering the special beam cannon. Give him more moments where he's the guy who outsmarts everyone while kicking ass, not just as a coach on the sideline.
