Hey Robo, if a beginner wants to learn Modelling and rendering, how and where should he start from!? Please help.
@reboa.i5634 жыл бұрын
@@jayvamsi Hi! Well, it depends on what you want to make. I personally started with modelling small houses and buildings, because that was being taught to me at school. From there I branched off and started modelling sci-fi stuff and all kinds of interiors. Now for a beginner, everything seems so overwhelming ( especially the software you want to learn ) and you want to try out everything! I've been there and I have to say, keep modelling what you want and be curious to learn new things! Eventually you'll settle on specific things you want to model and then finally render. One huge advice is to read and learn about the desired software. Look at tutorials, but don't blindly follow them. Always use your own ideas and combine them with the ones from the tutorial. Oh, and if you have the time and money, invest in a paid course. Paid courses set you on the right track and they often have a tutor who explains everything or how you can approach things differently. Have a nice day :)

I think when modeling furniture it's important to think how the piece would be built in real life, for instance at 2:38 the wood nerves are vertical on the front of the shelf while they should be horizontal. It's one of those things that help with realism, if it's wrong you can't really put your finger on what exactly is wrong but you just feel there's something off.

Hey Edo, if a beginner wants to learn Modelling and rendering, how and where should he start from!? In terms of software’s or any other tips. Please help.
@edoalva484 жыл бұрын
@@jayvamsi In the very beginning, do learn modeling first since it's the base of what will be rendered as final representation of your designs. About software, of course SketchUp is the best. It's the most easiest and user-friendly yet versatile means you can still do a lot with it. However for rendering plug-ins, despite of being industry leaders.. I don't think v-ray is simple enough for starters, it's quite complex in fact. Although the newest version is a lot better than before. Also it's not free. I don't want to intimidate you to use it but I'd recommend using Enscape and Lumion first. The latter is not free, but it's at much cheaper price than v-ray.
@jayvamsi4 жыл бұрын
Edo Alva, Thank you so much. Your response mean a lot me. I’d surely follow your suggestion, will start with sketchup and then look into rendering after understanding all the three and selecting one which suits my personal preference the best and practise more.

wow! you are amazing! I literally sit and do this alll dayyyy long. Figured its best to go back to school for interior architecture. Either that or I am just crazy and have no life but the one I create online. I have found that some renderings are great while others are not. I cant seem to find the correlation that makes a good render (or not). Question for you....do you find it difficult to complete a full floor plan? It seems that I take the longest time to complete a project. I floor plan is fine but when it comes to choosing the desired textures and materials (paint, flooring, ect) I become ADD and cant decide. Again, I am only self taught so I am hoping part of this is experimenting. Then again, I have seen tons of people do this (also self taught) and they get it down ASAP. Ugh! I can send you some pics or link here to my Instagram. Would be so curious to see what you think!!

Hey Man I do the same I studied law at college, and then went on as a musician, and finally I´m here as a 3D artist hahaha, I was struggling like you till I tried a not so technical approach, and most importantly THINK as a Photographer, that will always help you, and for design, look for inspiration and references, creating amoodboard will always be of help

Yes! We definitely need to think more like a photographer. Which is kinda cool because I love photography. 3D work is even harder than photography sometimes 😊

Hey Stefan, if a beginner wants to learn Modelling and rendering, how and where should he start from!? In terms of software’s, prerequisites or other useful info. Please help.
@mad_archviz64784 жыл бұрын
@@jayvamsi there are lots and lots of different softwares to use, and it depends on what type of modeling and rendering you want to do. As an architect I started using sketchup many years ago and have stuck with it because it is super easy and intuitive to learn. If you have the time, 3ds max will help you model more complex shapes and forms. I've realised now that there is no time to master so many softwares, so you need to pick 2 or 3 max and learn those over time. In my opinion, sketchup is really great but I'd have loved to be as good on 3ds max. For rendering, V-Ray is great, but it's also very technical. I've found lumion gives amazing results, is so easy to learn and the speed of rendering is amazing allowing you to tweak things quickly.

Stefan Magon, Wow! Your suggestion are very clear and more useful on a long run, you also shared your personal experience which can help us analyse more. I’d do follow your suggestions and I’m very Thankful. 😊✌🏼

Helpful tips, thanks a lot! Can you help me, material_id is not working, just black filled layer, instead of colored patches. Although object_id and render_id works well.

Hi there! Do you have the latest version of Vray? If not the check then check the download.chaosgroup.com/ site for the latest version. That was an issue for one of the older versions. If you have the latest one, then try this. In Sketchup, go to Extensions menu->Vray->Tools->Randomize Project Material IDs Let me know if that works!
