A few tips I use are 1.) When applying mascara I never make the dreaded "mascara face" in the mirror with your eyes wide open which causes your forehead to wrinkle. Instead I use a handheld mirror and hold it lower than my eyes so basically the mirror is looking up. I'm 42 and have almost no sign of forehead wrinkles. This is a trick I made up roughly10 years ago. I think it's really helped. 2). When applying lotion especially, always remember to push upward not down. I also move my jaw up and down as I'm applying moisturizer to my neck. It's creating resistance which I'm hoping keeps my chin and neck muscles tight. 3). And much like drying your face as you mentioned, patting moisturizer around your under eye area keeps it from being stretched and pulled as it's very delicate. Using your ring finger applies the least amount of pressure. ~ I hope that helps! I don't make my own youtube videos but have always wanted to share some of my ideas. ~ You look so fresh and glowing so you are doing a great job of taking care of yourself as well as your skin. ~ Sorry this was a book! lol. :)

Since I can remember, my mother (who looks 20 years younger than she really is) has always drilled in the "Most Priceless Beauty Secret" of all: sleep. Every night as we sleep, our skin heals and regenerates, not to mention a lack of sleep leaves our skin looking dull and unrested. Not only did she emphasize enough sleep, but also sleeping through the hours of 11pm to 1 am. She told me that those are vital hours for our body to get some REM sleep, because our body feels natural incline to rest then and heal itself. Throughout experience I've noticed the nights that I sleep really late or nights that I sleep less, that slowly my skin looks worse and worse. It isn't until a good week plus more of good sleep that I notice my skin going back to normal and glowing. As she says, "No amount of products, supplements, and other attempts will ever beat sleep".

I totally agree! Every time I struggle with sleep, my face struggles as well. It make such a difference

I remember in college, I read something about the whitening properties in whitening toothpaste contributing to breakouts. I switched out to a regular non-whitening toothpaste and it made a big difference in the acne around the lower half of my face.

It's the vitamin D. When you stay out of the sun or wear sunscreen you need to take vitamin D supplements.

Although I drink alcohol I’ve been blessed with naturally blemish free skin BUT after having a very mild chemical peel and starting a skin care routine including retinA and using a .5 derma roller oh my goodness my skin looks like it’s been photoshopped. I highly recommend the retinA, derma roller, and regular facials/light peels

Don't stay in the sun too long/tan. Go for spray tans. Clean pillowcase regularly. Clean makeup brushes regularly. Clean your face daily/every night. Check your Toothpaste. Drink water. Don't rub face too hard when drying it. Don't stress. Take your vitamins & minerals. Don't pick blemishes.

I think rather than saying to stay out of the sun, it should say, "stay protected use SP". most of my friends dont go hiking or do adventurous stuff because they are trying to avoid the sun. its unavoidable, but you can just put spf. i personally love being in the nature so staying out the sun is not happening. i guess just be careful w/ the tittle.
@AjaDang8 жыл бұрын
yup - I can see how my title can be confusing but I think my explanation clears things up. I'm more concerned with the tanning aspect of the sun.

It is essential to expose your skin to direct sunlight, because you need the sun to build vitamin D. 30 minutes of being in the sun with your arms, legs and face exposed is recommended to build enough. (trust me, I'm a biologist :D)
