Hello Jamila, I appreciate the fact the you mentioned that shampooing every day doesn’t cause hair loss. So true. One habit that is important to me is the Ayurvedic practice of daily tongue scraping. I do it twice a day after I brush when I get up and before going to bed.

That’s so true Jamila! That’s what I’ve been telling people for years that there’s women who have very thin skin that causes them to get bruises easily! I have the same problem and it’s hard for me to get shoes, and even if it’s leather it’s not easy, it has to be that soft buttery kid leather otherwise I can’t compromise my feet!

💯 agree. Whether they’re real leather or not, you can keep them clean and looking as new. There are products that can revive the colour and keep them looking good. With suede there are special shoe brushes to keep it looking new.

Seems like it triggered you. You can wash with your hands or use wet wipes there are so many people walking with dirty shoes that could be easily cleaned with wipes

i agree with and practice all but have one point. while body hair maintenance is a personal choice, it's illogical to call it unclean or unhygienic. if one bathes regularly there's no way their body hair is "unclean". because by that logic even head hair, eyebrow hair, eyelashes would be unhygienic. also i want to ask, whether the same standard is kept for men? do we call those unhygienic for having body hair + beards? i still believe removing body hair is a personal choice (which i make too). can even accept that some may find that more appealing to the eye. but lets not call those who don't "unclean" because it doesn't make sense.

Women cannot win when it comes to body hair. We shave to get rid of it, only for the hair to come back darker, thicker and faster. I do sympathise with this because body hair maintenance is insane when you think about it.

Thanks Jamila for doing this video! I know that not everyone will agree with what is being said, but there's a lot that we can take from it. For example, I can't do strong, sweet fragrances or candles, but I like aromatherapy candles and lightly fragrance items. I also have a rose water drink which makes my breath smell of roses! (At least for an hour...)

@@adasanchez5042 The rosewater is Pure Rose, the candles are Marks & Spencer Aromatherapy. Note, the rose water isn't a mouthwash, I just noticed that it did when I added it to my AM chia seed mix (chia seeds + aloe vera drink + rose water).

Where do you get the rose water drink from? Amazon? I’m also in the UK. I googled Pure Rose but it only brought up results for facial rose water
@decembercloudsСағат бұрын
@@claudym4640 I believe it ships from Canada or the US but the website is drink pure rose. PLEASE note that there is no guarantee of rose scented breath, it's just what happened to me after I had a chia seed + rose water drink. A lot of people are a mess because of mental health issues like depression or even worse things . These people have a hard time taking care of themselves . That was the case with me for 10 years . People are depressed and mentally ill because of their bad relationships with ....other people that abuse them / don't try to understand them.
@JamilaMusayevaСағат бұрын
This kind of habits also are important in staying mentally healthy. Self care comes in all forms and shapes.
@სალომეგუგავა54 минут бұрын
@JamilaMusayeva Only if you are in a safe space . In which I was not. So I could not do anything other than dissociating and isolating . Once you move physically away from an abusive household maybe you can put these ideas in practice. It seems like you are telling me "had you practice these things you'd be mentally fine"....unbelievable how you seem to make me responsible for the depression I suffered due to an abusive mother and an uncaring father . I tried to avoid coinciding with them as much as possible and in there house it was HARD to not bump into them in order to use the bathroom . Don't make me responsible for the abuser's behaviour and the paralyzing depression caused by abusive family. Unbelievable how you just said "take care of yourself and you'll be mentally okay". Tell that to prison inmates. Tell that to people locked up in psychiatric institutions who suffer abuse and are powerless to their family's narrative and their doctors , Tell that to hostages of kidnappers. There are certain boundaries in which these rules can be applied and outside of those boundaries you re really powerless and can not apply any self care unfortunately.
@სალომეგუგავა27 минут бұрын
@@JamilaMusayeva you can't handle not even a bit of criticism right? Had to erase my comment in which I as saying that in some situations it is impossible to do any form of self care and that sometimes people can only do the bare minimum because of external factors such as violence and entrapment. Do you get offended by truth like this always ?
@სალომეგუგავა12 минут бұрын
@@JamilaMusayeva If you say that poor mental health is caused by lack of washing your skin and brushing your hair you have not much knowledge about how mental illness works. Mental illness is caused (mostly ) by an abusive relationship which ruins your self esteem which results in no interest of taking care of yourself and actual physical paralysis . So no it is not always the individual 's fault if they are a mess. If you find someone whose bag is a mes , hair oily and so on the helpful thing to do is to ask them if they are in an abusive relationship and help them escape . Then they may reach a point of being able to take care of themselves . It seems you never experienced an abusive relationship but others have and they can testify how extremely hard it is to have any self-love in those cases. I had none. And it was NOT my fault.

Laser hair removal is the best invention! I was lucky to win an at-home laser hair removal device. After a few sessions, hair stopped growing on my legs and underarms, so I was happy not to worry about the dreadful reappearance of or forgetfulness to remove body hair anymore. I was also ecstatic to say good riddance to the horrible upper lip hair-I had been bullied for having it as a child. What a fantastic feeling to have smooth legs and underarms without the nuisance of shaving or waxing for good!

I’m very surprised you left eyebrows out of you list of female grooming habits 😯 In my opinion, that detail is so important. I don’t tint, or laminate or do anything major to my eyebrows, but I do keep them in tip top shape with the tweezers and eyebrow fixing gel. To me having ungroomed eyebrows is just as bad for your appearance as chipped nail polish.

I really don't get why some girls don't get rid off their facial hair, no offense to anyone but those hair are caused due to excessive release of testosterone and it's just not normal or natural.
@alexandraeverafter10155 сағат бұрын
@@Dokhtaremah females in my family are cursed with facial hair. Of course, I was bullied about it as a child until Mom let it tweeze it the summer before high school-I don’t understand why she didn’t let me do it sooner and not have it waxed instead-I was bullied enough (for other reasons as well). Tweezing took way too long. When I had it waxed, the growing-out period in preparation was still embarrassing. Years later, I finally won an at-home laser hair removal device to “execute” my much-hated facial and other unwanted hair. Good riddance! For girls cursed with facial hair, get rid of it and don’t look back! Unwanted hair deserves “capital punishment.”
